Depression

We have heard your cry and we join with you before the throne of grace, lifting you up together in the name of Jesus Christ, for we know the heaviness you describe is real and God sees you in this deep depression, oppression and emotional void.

We want you to know that you are not forgotten or forsaken, even when your heart feels empty and overwhelmed. The Lord is near to those whose hearts are broken. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. When we feel oppressed and void inside, He does not turn away but draws near to comfort and restore. We are also reminded in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you, and in Philippians 4:6-7 that in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently share this truth with you because it is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true hope and salvation. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name, for whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved and brought into fellowship with God. It is in His name that our prayers are heard and our void can be filled with His presence.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one who is attacked by deep depression and oppression and who feels an emotional void. Lord, You know the weight that presses down and the emptiness that aches inside. We ask You to rebuke every spirit of heaviness and oppression and to shine Your light into this darkness. Fill this void with Your Holy Spirit, with Your love and peace that surpasses understanding. Comfort this heart as only You can, for You are the Father of mercies and God of all comfort in 2 Corinthians 1:3. We ask You to renew strength according to Isaiah 41:10 where You say Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Lift up this soul from the depths, restore hope and joy, and help them to hope in You even as Psalm 42:11 says Why are you in despair, my soul Why are you disturbed within me Hope in God For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence. Give daily strength, surround this one with godly community and counsel, and lead to Your Word and to fellowship where Your love can be experienced. We ask that You make Your presence known in a tangible way and fill the empty places with Your fullness. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to bring every thought captive to Christ, and to not walk through this alone. Share this burden with a trusted pastor or mature believer and stay connected to a Bible believing fellowship where you can be prayed for and encouraged. Even when feelings do not change immediately, keep crying out to the Lord honestly as the psalmists did, trusting that He hears and will answer in His perfect time and way. We will continue to stand with you in prayer that the Lord will lift this heaviness and fill you with His hope and peace.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, that sense of deep depression and oppression and an empty place inside that won't lift. Thank you for reaching out and letting us pray with you. You are not forgotten in this, even when it feels so isolating.

What you describe is painful and also very common, that feeling of being cut off from others and even distant from God when depression settles in. One of the hardest parts is how it pulls us toward withdrawing, and withdrawing then makes the void feel even deeper. You don't have to walk through this alone.

We are praying for you, and we also want to gently encourage you to reach out for personal support soon. If you have a trusted pastor, counselor, or doctor, please let someone know how you are doing in the next day or two, so you have another caring person walking with you alongside prayer. Even sharing with one safe person or inviting someone to check in regularly can help break the isolation.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see this oppression and emptiness and the weight they carry right now. Please bring Your nearness and comfort, guard them with Your peace, and give wisdom and steady help through those around them. Lead them to the right support and remind them day by day that You have not abandoned them. Amen.

Your heavy burden has been laid before the Lord with prayer and earnest compassion. To be attacked by deep depression, oppression and an emotional void is a sore and painful trial, and He knows the weight of it. Even those who walk most closely with Him have known serious pain and depression of spirit, and holy men have been brought into distress through oppression, yet this is no proof that the Lord has forsaken them. His tender love and gracious care have not departed from you, though for a season darkness may hide His face.

There is a truth of great comfort for one who feels empty. Emptiness is eligibility. Your sense of void, your want of strength and feeling, proves your need of His grace, and that very need is your capacity to receive. You have nothing in yourself with which to fill that emptiness, but the super abounding grace of the Lord Jesus Christ will flow into empty vessels till they are filled and overflow to His praise. Look to Him, for He is alive and is a familiar Friend to all who trust Him. By an act of faith receive what Jesus so freely gives to as many as will receive Him.

We are praying that the Lord in His great mercy will look upon you, lift this oppression, and interpose for your deliverance, for nothing of oppression can stand long where God is abroad to help His people. We ask that He will fill your void with His own presence, give you light in darkness, and turn your mourning into hope. May He teach you to look to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things, to cast every care upon Him, and to find in Him your comfort, your fullness and your peace.

May the Lord sustain you day by day by His Spirit, keep you near to Christ who alone is salvation, and bring out of this season of emptiness a testimony to His faithfulness. Continue to seek Him in His Word and in prayer, and lean wholly upon Jesus for strength.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing honestly about the deep depression, oppression and emotional emptiness you are carrying. We have received your request and we are praying for you, and we want you to know you are not alone in this struggle.

What you describe is heavy and painful, and God sees and cares deeply about it. Scripture tells us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, and that we can cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. Even when feelings tell us there is a void or that we are under oppression, His presence has not left you. He is faithful, and He invites you to come to Him for rest when you are weary and burdened.

We are praying that God will lift this oppression, bring light into the darkness, and fill the emptiness you feel with His peace and hope through Jesus Christ. We pray that you will experience His comfort daily, that He will renew your strength, guard your mind and heart, and remind you of His steadfast love that never fails. We pray also that He will give you hope for each day and the assurance that your life is held securely in His hands.

Please do not walk through this alone. Keep bringing your heart honestly to the Lord in prayer, even with simple words, and stay rooted in His Word where He speaks comfort and truth. If you have a trusted pastor, church family, or mature believer, please reach out to them and let them walk with you. If this depression continues or feels overwhelming, please also consider speaking with a pastor or a qualified counselor or medical professional who can support you personally and consistently.

We will continue to keep you in prayer.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the depth of this depression and the weight of this oppression and void. We ask for Your mercy, Your nearness, and Your healing touch. Comfort this heart, quiet the troubled thoughts, and fill what feels empty with Your presence and peace. Give strength for each day, hope for the future, and the help and support needed. Lead toward people who can encourage and walk alongside, and draw this heart ever closer to You. Amen.
