### DEPRESSION

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for my ### year old son soon to be wed that his depression would leave and the hurt and pain in his heart.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in prayer as he prepares for marriage. Depression is a deep and painful struggle, and we know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy the joy and peace that God intends for him. But Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We declare that God is close to your son in this season, drawing him near and binding up his wounds.

Father, we ask You to break the chains of depression over his life. Let Your light pierce the darkness he feels, and let Your truth replace the lies that weigh him down. We rebuke every spirit of heaviness and oppression in Jesus’ name, for "the Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). We claim this healing and freedom for him.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment as he enters marriage. May he and his future wife build their union on Christ, seeking You first in all things. Help them to love one another as You have loved us, sacrificially, patiently, and faithfully. Guard their hearts from any bitterness or unforgiveness, and let their home be a place of peace and joy.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin, hurt, or unforgiveness in his life, reveal it to him. Convict his heart gently but firmly, leading him to repentance and restoration. Remind him that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Let him experience the freedom that comes from walking in Your forgiveness and grace.

We also pray for you, as his parent, that You would give you strength, wisdom, and peace as you support him. May you find comfort in knowing that God is working all things together for good, even when the path is difficult.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we stand against every attack of the enemy and declare victory over depression, pain, and despair. We trust that God is making a way where there seems to be no way, and we thank Him for the breakthrough that is coming. Amen.

We’re holding your son and your family close in prayer as he walks this road toward marriage. When a wedding is on the horizon, it’s common for old hurts and deep-seated sadness to surface, as if the heart takes the season of new beginnings as a time to wrestle with what still feels broken. That doesn’t make the pain less real, or your concern less urgent. We’re praying that the pressure of this transition turns your son toward the healing Christ offers, not further inward.

One concrete thing you might gently explore with him is whether he’d be willing to talk with a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor before the wedding, not as a crisis measure but as part of building a strong foundation. Many couples find that premarital conversations naturally open the door to address personal struggles like depression, and it can be a safe place to name the hurt he’s carrying. If his low mood has lingered or feels heavy enough to interfere with daily life, encouraging a visit to his doctor can also be a wise step, sometimes our bodies need care alongside our spirits.

For you, the love behind this request matters deeply. Keep showing up with steady, unpressured presence, listening more than fixing. Your quiet faithfulness itself is a picture of God’s patient love.

Let’s pray together: Father, we bring this beloved son to You. You see the hurt he carries and the depression that shadows his days. In Jesus’ name we ask for a deep, gentle healing, lighten his heart, untangle the pain, and give him courage to seek whatever help he needs. Surround him with wise, safe people. And as his wedding approaches, turn this season into a time of unexpected hope and restoration. Give this parent Your peace, knowing You hold him even more closely than they do. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is no small comfort to know that He who heals the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds, is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. For thy son, who soon stands at the threshold of holy wedlock, the mists of depression are not beyond the dispelling power of the Sun of Righteousness, who ariseth with healing in His wings. The very leaves of that Tree of Life, which are for the healing of the nations, contain medicine for his soul. Let him look not to his own feelings, but to Christ, who is able to forgive and to heal; for pardon and healing are twin mercies that spring from the same hand. I shall earnestly entreat the Lord that this hurt and pain may be removed, that his heart be made glad in the bridegroom of the church, and that his coming marriage may be a reflection of that chaste and holy union betwixt Christ and His people. Let us pray that the great Physician visit him, and that his tongue be loosed to sing of mercy and of judgment, even as the man healed of the palsy went to his house glorifying God.

Your plea for your son, soon to be wed yet bound by depression and heartache, has come before the church, and we intercede fervently for him. But listen to this: often such inward distress is permitted by God as a sharp prod, either to startle the soul from the slumber of sin or to refine its virtue like gold in the furnace. Let the young man search his heart diligently. Is there any unconfessed transgression, any worldly anxiety that has displaced his trust in the Lord? For sin is a fearful thing, and at times its poison overflows to afflict body and mind. Yet he must not despair: this very misery may be the merciful surgery of the Great Physician. As Christ told the healed paralytic, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon thee,” so He calls your son to deeper repentance and holiness, especially as he prepares to become one flesh with his bride.

Do not imagine that this gloom is a fixed necessity. Our nature is not compelled to sin or despair; the power of choice, grounded in grace, remains. Let him arm himself with prayer, fasting, and the medicine of the Scriptures, for these dispel the heaviness of the soul. Pain in due measure strengthens, but excess shatters. Therefore, remind him that for the spiritual man nothing truly harms; the world’s troubles cannot touch the inner citadel where Christ dwells. God’s wrath rests only on unbelief, but to those who believe in the Son, everlasting life is already a present possession. May he fix his gaze not on the shifting shadows of this present distress, but on the unshakable joy prepared for those who endure.

And you, his parent, do not surrender to excessive grief. Your tears are natural, but let them water the seed of hope. Commend him daily to God, speak courage into his heart, and trust that this trial, borne faithfully, will yield the peaceful fruit of righteousness. We join our prayers to yours: soon may his sorrow be turned to dancing, and his upcoming wedding feast become a foretaste of the eternal bridal chamber, where pain and sighing flee away. Amen.

I hear the weight behind this request. When a son you love is approaching his wedding day and his heart is heavy with depression, hurt, and pain, it touches the deepest places in a parent's soul. You are carrying his burden in your own heart, and that is exactly where these things belong in prayer.

The Lord is always far more interested in what is happening inside than in anything on the surface. Emotional tears and outward signs of distress may come and go, but the Father looks upon the heart. He is not asking for a quick fix or a momentary mood change. He wants to meet your son in the very place where the wound rests, in the hidden chambers where the issues of life flow forth. A temporary lifting of spirits is not the same as a healed heart. Surface relief can pass, and then the old sorrow rises again because the root was never touched. Pray that your son's heart would be laid bare before the Lord, not just his emotions soothed. That is where real, lasting change begins.

Your son’s heart needs to be anchored in something stronger than his own strength or even the joy of a wedding. Scripture tells us to keep the heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. That means guarding what we treasure, what we believe, and where we turn for our ultimate hope. And the record God has given is this: He has given us eternal life, and that life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life. A man can stand at the altar, enter into marriage, and still carry a hollow ache if he has not first given his heart fully to the One who made him and died for him. The deepest answer to depression and pain is not found in circumstances being finally perfect; it is found in a person, Jesus Christ, who Himself knew a broken heart. When they pierced His side, blood and water flowed, bearing witness that His heart had ruptured. He bore grief and sorrow to the uttermost, and He alone can truly bear and heal what your son is feeling.

So let your prayer be this: that your son would cry out from his innermost being, that he would open the locked rooms of his heart to the Lord, and that he would hear the Father saying to him, "My son, give me your heart." Only as he yields that pain to the Lord will he discover that the Son of God has already taken it upon Himself. A wedding is a wonderful and sacred thing, but only the life of Christ within will make a man whole. Pray that he finds his life in the Son, for the Lord has prepared a wedding for His own Son, and the invitation is to come just as we are, to be clothed in His righteousness and healed by His love. When a man knows he belongs to the living God, a hope rises that no darkness can extinguish. That is my prayer for your son, and for you as you stand with him.
