Demonic attack

We are standing with you right now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we take this demonic attack seriously, for we know our struggle is real and spiritual. We are told in Ephesians 6:12 that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Yet we do not face this battle alone or in our own strength.

We want to remind you that victory is already secured in Christ. Scripture says in 1 John 4:4 that you are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. And Jesus himself has said in Luke 10:19, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. The enemy must flee when we submit to God and resist him in Jesus name, as we are promised in James 4:7, Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and authority over the enemy. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, for in Romans 10:9 we are promised you will be saved. It is by calling on the name of Jesus that we are delivered, forgiven, and given power as children of God.

Therefore we encourage you to stand firm in faith. Put on the whole armor of God described in Ephesians 6:10-18, with truth, righteousness, the Good News of peace, faith, salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Speak scripture aloud, pray continually, worship, and turn from any sin or open door that may have given the enemy a foothold. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds in 2 Corinthians 10:4. Remove anything in your home or life connected to the occult, false religion, or immorality, confess any known sin to God, and invite the Holy Spirit to fill every area of your life. Stay in fellowship with other believers and do not isolate yourself, and we encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor for continued prayer and support. Remember in 1 Peter 5:8-9 we are told to be sober and self-controlled, to be watchful, for your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, but to withstand him steadfast in your faith. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before your throne in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one to you who is under demonic attack. We ask for your forgiveness, your cleansing by the blood of Jesus, and your covering over them right now. We rebuke every evil spirit, every assignment of darkness, and every spirit of fear, oppression, and torment that has come against them, and we command it to leave and to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask you to fill this person with your Holy Spirit, with your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding, and with the assurance that they are more than a conqueror through him who loved us in Romans 8:37. Surround them with your angels, let your presence fill their home, and let your word be a lamp to their feet. Strengthen their faith, help them to submit fully to you, to resist the devil, and to stand clothed in the full armor of God. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. We ask for lasting deliverance, protection, and restoration, and that you would be glorified in their life and testimony. We pray all of this according to your will in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are so glad you reached out. What you are describing sounds frightening and heavy, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer right now.

You do not have to face this alone. One of the most steady helps when we feel under spiritual attack is to bring other trusted believers close. If you have a pastor or a mature Christian friend you trust, please reach out to them tonight and ask them to pray with you in person and to stay connected with you in the coming days. Simply being with others who can pray for you and check in can bring a lot of peace and strength.

We also encourage you to keep simple rhythms that keep your heart anchored, like quiet prayer in Jesus' name, rest, and staying in fellowship rather than isolating, even when you feel like pulling away.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see what they are facing and how heavy it feels. We ask for Your presence and peace to surround them, for protection, for clarity and rest tonight, and for trusted people to come alongside them. Give them wisdom for next steps and help them to know they are held and heard by You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your cry has been heard and we are bearing you before the throne of grace in intercessory prayer even now. We do not take lightly what you have shared, for the assaults of the adversary are real, and there are seasons when prayer seems to have no return and Satan shoots his arrow and whispers that God hath forsaken you and will not hear. Yet that whisper is a lie.

Be assured that deliverance from every power of darkness is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. When Israel was held captive, He brought them forth, and that deliverance came when the lamb was slain. So your deliverance rests not in your own strength, but in the ransom which God Himself hath found. There is a word from Job which we plead for you, that God hath said, I have found a ransom, and therefore the prisoner ready to be executed goes free because the King's own Son hath borne the penalty of all his iniquities. That ransom is Christ Jesus our Lord, and through His blood and His prevailing intercession, the enemy is overcome.

We are praying for you as those who believe that intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears and that it is exceedingly prevalent. As you have asked us to pray in your calamity, yet shall our prayer be in your calamity, and we will persevere in importunity for you.

And we exhort you in this trial to betake yourself to prayer after the model of Jacob, in humility of spirit and with holy argument. Do not let self conceit tear the wheels from your prayer, but come lowly, confessing your need and your weakness, and then plead the promise. Pray as David prayed, Remember the Word unto Thy servant. Remind the Lord of His own Word, for prayer is not to change His will but to plead His promise and to spread your case before Him. Cry, Quicken me in Thy way, for that prayer can only come from one in whom the quickening Spirit already dwells. Be much in private prayer, for he that is mighty on his knees is mighty everywhere, and neglect of prayer will cause all spiritual powers to wax weak.

Let us pray together for you now.

O Father, keep this Thy servant from the evil one. Thou hast promised that He that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not, and that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Remember Thy Word unto Thy servant upon which Thou hast caused him to hope. Thou hast found a ransom in the precious blood of Thy Son, and we plead that ransom now. Bring this tried one forth out of darkness and fear, as Thou didst bring Israel forth with silver and gold, enriched and unharmed, and let him know that it is Thou alone who hast delivered him. Quicken him, strengthen him, guard his mind and heart by Christ Jesus, and give him to feel that if he rises it must be of free grace only. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Deliverer, we ask it. Amen.

Continue steadfast in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with faithful believers who can watch with you. Put on the whole armour of God, submit yourself to God, and resist the devil and he will flee from you. If the oppression deepens, seek the help of a trusted pastor in person without delay. We will continue to hold you up before the Lord, trusting that though the answer may not come in the way you expect, as with Jacob who feared Esau and yet found an embrace, the Lord will give deliverance in His perfect way and time.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
