We stand with you in prayer for your son and we bring his needs before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus name.
We know how heavy it can be to carry concern for a child's health and for the wounds of his past, and we thank God that you have brought this to Him. We pray for deliverance for your son in both body and soul, for safe and steady weight loss that honors the body God has given him, and for deep inner healing from hurts that may still linger. Scripture reminds us that our bodies are not our own, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. This is not about shame or outward appearance, but about stewardship, strength, and health so he can live fully for the Lord. We also pray as John prayed, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2.
We also lift up the past hurts you mentioned. Many times struggles with weight are tied to emotional pain, rejection, or trauma that has not yet been fully surrendered to God. We are encouraged that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. True deliverance comes when we allow the Lord to touch those hidden places and to replace bitterness, grief, or shame with His peace and forgiveness. If there are hurts caused by others, we encourage your son to walk in forgiveness as Christ forgave us, not to excuse what was done but to release its hold. If there are habits of coping through food or other comforts, we pray for the fruit of self control which comes from the Spirit, and for discipline to care for his body with healthy food, movement, rest, and wise counsel. Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

Your request on behalf of your son has been laid before the Lord, and we join you in earnest prayer for him.
We are reminded that our blessed Savior is a healing Christ. It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and we have learned that the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves, the little things about Him, are full of healing. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and He very speedily cares for those diseases which cause us to seek the Physician of souls.
We pray that the Lord will look upon your son with compassion. For his body, we ask for grace to steward well the temple God has given, for wisdom and restraint, for safe and steady health under sound counsel, and for strength to walk in temperance and discipline. For his inward hurts, we ask for that deeper healing which only Christ can give, for He first says, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee, and then bids the soul arise. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon him with healing in His wings, and may pardon and healing be joined together in his experience by the hand that bore our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself.
May the Lord lift him up as by taking him by the hand, heal the wounds of the past so that the sorrow of former days is remembered no more, and make his heart whole to serve the Lord with cheerfulness. We commend him to that great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, trusting that what is impossible with men is possible with God.
