We join with you in seeking the Lord for deliverance and healing for you and for your son, and we bring this need before the Father together in the name of Jesus.
We understand the burden you feel concerning curses spoken against you and your family. We want to remind you that for those who are in Christ, no curse has authority over us, for Christ has redeemed us from the curse. As it is written, Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us in Galatians 3:13. And we know that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4. We rebuke all fear and every work of the enemy that would try to oppress you, and we stand on the truth that there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus in Romans 8:1. We resist the devil and he must flee when we submit to God, as James 4:7 teaches, and we declare that every curse, spell, or word spoken against you and your son is broken and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus. We do not live in fear of curses, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control in 2 Timothy 1:7.
We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and deliverance. Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that God raised him from the dead, confessing him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved in Romans 10:9. It is in his name alone that we pray and are delivered.
We lift up your son before the Lord for safe and healthy weight loss and for healing from past hurts. We pray that God will help him to steward his body well, for we know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God, and you are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We pray he will be strengthened to make wise choices with food, activity, and rest, and that any plan for weight loss would be safe, balanced, and sustainable, and we encourage seeking wise medical counsel alongside prayer. We pray as in 3 John 1:2 that he may prosper and be in health, even as his soul prospers.
For the hurts of the past, we know the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. We pray that the Lord would heal every wound, memory, and pain that still lingers, and that your son would know he is deeply loved and valued by God. By his wounds we are healed in Isaiah 53:5, and that healing includes the heart and mind. We pray he will be able to cast all his anxiety on him, because he cares for you in 1 Peter 5:7, and that he will experience the peace that guards heart and mind.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank you that you are our deliverer and our healer. We declare in Jesus name that every curse spoken against this dear one and her son is broken and ended now, and has no power over them. We ask that you cover them with the blood of Jesus and fill their home with your peace and protection. We ask for your hand upon her son, Lord, guide him to lose weight in a safe and healthy way that honors you, give him strength, discipline, and encouragement, and let his body be strengthened for your glory. Heal his heart from every past hurt, Lord, comfort him, renew his mind, and let him know his identity and worth in Christ. Help him to walk in freedom and not in shame or fear. Draw both mother and son closer to Jesus, and let them know the fullness of salvation and deliverance that is found only in him. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you both to continue in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with other believers, to speak scripture aloud over your home, and to trust that God is faithful to complete the good work he has begun in you.
