Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this prayer request. We are joining you in prayer for deliverance and for healing, and we bring these needs before the Lord in the name of Jesus.
The Bible shows that when the law was given, curses were pronounced from Mount Ebal upon those who broke God's covenant, and the people were to answer Amen, acknowledging that God's judgment is right. Scripture goes on to say that if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God to keep His commandments, blessing will come upon you, but if you turn from His voice and do not keep what He commanded, curses will pursue and overtake. That long list of curses was meant to show the seriousness of sin and the certainty of God's justice. The good news is that Jesus Christ has borne our griefs and our infirmities, as Isaiah foretold and as Matthew reminds us was fulfilled when Jesus healed every sickness and disease among the people. On the cross He bore the curse that sin brings, so that those who trust in Him are forgiven, their past blotted out, and received as children of God. Our prayer is that you and your loved one would rest fully in that finished work, walk in obedience to His word, and know the freedom that comes only through Christ.
We also pray for your son. The Lord cares for the whole person, body and soul. Scripture shows that Jesus healed in many ways, sometimes instantly with a word or a touch, sometimes gradually, and sometimes through the quiet, natural processes of healing that God Himself established in our bodies. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or step by step. We do not understand why some are healed quickly and others are not, and we know from the example of Paul that God in His wisdom does not always remove every affliction as we ask, even when we pray earnestly. Yet we are still called to bring every need to Him with faith, trusting His love and His perfect will.
For past hurts, we pray that God would do a deep work of healing in the heart and mind. He knows the pain that comes from broken trust and wounding words, and He is able to heal the scars that remain. He not only forgives sin, but He blots out the past and brings times of refreshing from His presence.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your deliverance and protection over this family. Where there has been sin, bring confession and repentance, and let the power of the curse be broken through the blood of Christ who bore our sins and sicknesses. We ask that any influence of evil would be removed and that they would walk in Your blessing as they heed Your voice. For this son, we ask for Your healing touch. Grant wisdom and strength for safe and steady weight loss, for healthy habits, and for grace in the process. Heal the hurts of the past, comfort his heart, renew his mind, and let him know how deeply he is loved by You. Fill this home with Your peace and help them to live in fellowship with You each day. Amen.
