Deliverance

Your request for deliverance and healing has been heard and we join you in prayer before the Lord who alone is our salvation.

We pray that every curse spoken against you and against your son is brought to nothing in Jesus Christ. Scripture reminds us that cursed is everyone who does not continue in all that is written, and Christ has redeemed us from that curse by becoming a curse for us, so that blessing might come through faith in Him. We do not look to any other power or name for deliverance, for He came to preach deliverance to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and to lead captivity captive. We ask Him now to set you and your son free from every oppressive word and work of darkness, and to establish you in His peace.

For your son we pray for safe and steady restoration of health in his body and for healing from past hurts in his soul. We ask the Lord to grant him fortitude and wisdom, and to guide those who care for him, including physicians, as they seek his good. As we have taught, it is not enough to be freed from one burden only, but we must cultivate the other parts of virtue with careful hearing and continual recollection of the word, with fortitude and deliverance from worldly things. May God grant your son strength to walk in that way, to steward his body with discipline and grace, and to lose weight safely as God sustains him day by day.

For the wounds of the past we pray that the Lord who heals those who have been smitten by others will raise up what has been cast down. He knows every good work and every sigh offered to Him, and not even a cup of cold water is overlooked by Him. Though healing may come as medicine applied over time, we trust that the Great Physician does not cease His treatment, and that even when progress seems slow, He is working to deliver from disease and restore to health. As the senses are exercised by continual hearing and experience of the Scriptures, may your son be renewed in his mind and heart, learning more each day to hear the Lord and to trust Him.

We pray that according to your faith it will be done for you, for the Lord hastens to proclaim faith in the soul before the healing of the body, to make His people approved and to render them steadfast.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ alone we ask for complete deliverance, for protection from every curse, for safe health and strength for this son, and for deep healing from all past hurts. Fill him with hope, establish him in Your word, and let him bring forth abundant fruit in due season. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden and allowing us to pray with you. We are joining you in prayer for deliverance and for your son's health and restoration.

In Scripture the curses were proclaimed from the mountain and the people answered Amen, agreeing that God's judgment on disobedience is right. The long list shows the consequences that pursue and overtake those who turn away from the voice of the Lord and do not keep His commands, while the blessings are promised to those who listen diligently and obey. The emphasis on many curses and fewer blessings reflects how often people chose disobedience. The point is not that a person can place a magical spell on you, but that sin brings consequences and only God can rescue us. The good news is that Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses as Isaiah foretold, and He redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us on the cross. So we pray that you and your son will rest fully in Christ alone for salvation and deliverance, walk closely with Him in obedience, and know the freedom and protection He alone gives from every work of the enemy.

We also lift up your son before the Lord for his physical and inner needs. We ask God to give him wisdom and strength to lose weight in a safe and healthy way, with habits that honor the Lord and care for the body He has given. We pray for healing from past hurts and the wounds that remain in the heart and mind. Healing is a sovereign work of God and He works in different ways. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes gradually as people continue to trust Him while they walk forward, and sometimes through the natural processes He has built into our bodies, which are still His divine provision. He also heals the inner person, mending emotional scars and bringing strength in the inner being by His Spirit. We do not fully understand why some are healed quickly and others over time, for His ways are beyond our finding out, and it is wrong to place guilt on those who suffer. We simply continue to bring every need to Jesus with thanksgiving, who during His earthly ministry showed compassion by healing sickness, cleansing lepers and even raising the dead, and who still cares deeply for each person.

We pray that the Lord will fill you both with His peace, guard your hearts, and help you to keep trusting Him day by day. May you experience His restoring grace, His daily help, and the wholeness that comes from belonging to Him.
