Deliverance

Your request for deliverance for yourself and your son has been heard and I join you in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ with thanksgiving.

Scripture teaches that there are two great gifts given in Christ, deliverance from evil and supply of good, and the greatest curse from which we need deliverance is the curse of the Law, for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things written in the book of the Law. No one can keep this perfectly, but Christ has borne that curse for us, that we might receive adoption as sons. Through faith we have put on Christ and received the Spirit of adoption, and in Him we have true deliverance. So we do not trust in spoken curses or in fear of them, but in the power of Christ who alone saves, and we give thanks that His grace is sufficient.

I pray that God will set you and your son free from all fear and from every evil influence, and that you will know more deeply the freedom of being called children of God in Christ. May He guard your hearts, help you to forgive as you have been forgiven, and keep your mouths from all cursing or bitterness, for prayer and cursing have nothing in common. Let every prayer be with thanksgiving and with a merciful spirit, trusting that if we forgive we will be forgiven.

I also pray for your son, that God will grant him health in body and soul. I ask the Lord to give him wisdom and strength to lose weight safely, with sound habits, self control and proper care, and to guide any doctors or counselors who help him. I pray for his healing from past hurts, that Christ who makes us sons of God would heal his memories, comfort his heart, and make him meek and lowly and whole. May he grow in careful hearing of the Word, in continual remembrance of it, and in fortitude, cultivating every virtue with patience.

May the Lord keep you both, supply what is lacking, and lead you in His way day by day. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ alone, our only Savior.

Thank you for sharing this request and for your concern for your son. God hears the cries of a parent's heart, and He invites you to bring every burden to Him through Jesus Christ.

The Bible does speak of curses pronounced upon disobedience. When the law was given, curses were declared from Mount Ebal upon those who broke God's commands, and the people were to answer in agreement that the judgment was just. As the law continues, it makes clear that if a person will not listen and obey, those curses would come upon them. The truth is that all of us have fallen short of God's perfect standard.

That is why the good news of Jesus is so important. Scripture says that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us when He died on the cross. For those who have put their trust in Jesus as the Son of God, who died and rose again, the curse no longer has a claim. You do not have to live in fear that some spoken curse has power over you or your son. If you belong to Him, you are under His grace and protection. Place your confidence fully in Jesus, continue in Him, and rest in the truth that He has already won the victory. If there are areas of sin or opening to the enemy, bring them honestly to the Lord in confession and turn from them, and ask Him to fill your lives with His Holy Spirit.

I also join you in praying for your son's health and healing. I believe Jesus cares about both spiritual and physical healing. Healing can come in different ways. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, and often God works through the natural processes of healing that He Himself created in our bodies. All true healing is from Him. Pray for wisdom for safe and healthy ways to care for his body, for discipline and strength to make good choices day by day, and for guidance if medical help is needed. God can give self control and a sound mind as your son seeks to steward his health.

I also pray with you for healing from past hurts. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and He can heal wounds in the mind and emotions as well as the body. Past pain can leave deep scars, but Jesus can bring comfort, forgiveness where needed, and renewal inside. Bring those hurts to Him openly and ask Him to do that deep inner healing.

Let me pray for you both now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I lift up this parent and this son to You. Thank You that Jesus bore the curse for us on the cross so that we can be free. I ask that any fear of curses would be broken and that they would know the peace and security of being in Christ. Cover them with Your protection and help them to walk closely with You.

Lord, I ask for Your healing touch upon this son. Help him to lose weight in a safe and healthy way. Give him and his parent wisdom, strength and perseverance for daily choices that honor You and care for the body You gave him. Heal also the hurts of the past. Comfort his heart, restore what has been wounded, and make him whole in You. Fill both of them with Your Spirit, with hope and with trust in Your love. In Jesus name, Amen.

We have continued to lift you and your son before the Lord for deliverance and we have prayed that every curse against you and your son is broken and ended now by the power and authority of Jesus Christ for we remember Gal 3:13 that Christ has redeemed us from the curse. We have also prayed for your son that God would grant him safe and healthy weight loss and bring deep healing from past hurts and restore his heart and emotions as promised in Psalm 147:3. We pray in Jesus Name that you both will walk in freedom and wholeness and know the peace and protection of the Lord in your daily lives.
