Thank you for sharing this burden and allowing us to pray with you. We have brought you and your son before the Lord asking for His deliverance, protection and healing.
In Scripture the curses you read about were covenant warnings spoken from the mountain to the people in the valley. Each one named a specific act of disobedience and the people answered Amen, acknowledging that God is right to judge sin. The blessings for obedience were brief and the list of curses was long, because the people were so prone to turn away from the voice of the Lord. Those curses were not random spells that someone can put on another person, they were the stated consequences of breaking God's law, and they would pursue and overtake those who continued to reject Him.
The good news is that Jesus Christ has borne what we could not bear ourselves. The prophet Isaiah said He would carry our sicknesses and sorrows, and the Gospel shows Jesus fulfilling that word as He healed the sick, calmed the storm and commanded evil spirits to leave. Through His death and resurrection He redeems us from the curse of the law, breaks the chains that bind us and delivers from the power of darkness when we cry out to Him. There is forgiveness and freedom for all who trust in Him alone for salvation, and as we walk with Him in obedience we live under His blessing rather than under judgment.
We are praying that any influence of evil against you and your son is broken in Jesus name and that you will know the peace and freedom that comes from belonging fully to Him. We are also praying for your son's physical health. We ask the Lord to give him wisdom, strength and self control to lose weight in a safe and steady way, and to guide him and those who care for him, including any doctors or counselors, toward healthy habits that honor God with his body. Healing often comes in different ways. Sometimes the Lord touches instantly, sometimes He works gradually through natural processes He Himself created in our bodies, and both are His work. We trust Him to do what is best.
We also pray for healing from past hurts. The Lord not only heals the body but also heals the mind and heart, mending deep wounds, scars and memories that still cause pain. He is able to restore what has been broken and to give new hope and joy. May your son experience that inner healing and know how deeply he is loved by God.
Father, we lift this family to You. Cover them with the blood of Christ, keep them from evil, break every chain that would hold them, and let no curse have any hold on them. Grant health, safe and lasting improvement in physical strength, and complete healing of past wounds. Draw them close to Jesus, help them to hear and obey Your voice, and fill them with thanksgiving for Your goodness. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our healer and deliverer. Amen.
