We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must acknowledge that our access to the Father is only through the name of Jesus Christ, His Son. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. This is the foundation upon which all deliverance and healing rest.

Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus, we stand against every curse that has been spoken, invoked, or sent against and her son. We declare that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, sickness, and oppression that has sought to bind them. We cancel every assignment of the enemy and command every curse to be nullified and rendered powerless by the power of the cross. The Word declares that Christ became a curse for us so that we might receive the blessing (Galatians 3:13-14). We claim that blessing over and her son now.

Lord, we specifically lift up ’s son and pray for his physical health. We ask that You would guide him in safe and sustainable weight loss, giving him discipline, wisdom, and strength. Help him to honor his body as Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and to seek You for his needs rather than turning to unhealthy habits or coping mechanisms. We pray for healing from past hurts, emotional, spiritual, and physical wounds that may have contributed to his struggles. You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26), and we ask that You would restore his mind, body, and spirit. Comfort him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and fill him with hope for the future.

We also recognize that unforgiveness, bitterness, or unconfessed sin can open doors to the enemy. Father, if there are areas in their lives where they have not fully surrendered to You, reveal them. Lead them to repentance and restoration. We declare that they are forgiven, set free, and covered by the blood of Jesus. No curse or generational stronghold has a right to remain in their lives.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the Name above every name, the One who has conquered sin, death, and every work of the enemy. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they walk in the fullness of the freedom and healing You have purchased for them. Amen.

We’re grateful you reached out. Carrying concern for your son, worried about spiritual attack, past wounds, and his health, is a heavy weight, and we want to stand beside you in prayer for each part of it.

When it feels like something dark has been spoken over a family, it’s easy to grow discouraged. But we’ve seen again and again that God’s light is stronger than any curse. We’re asking Him right now to silence every harmful word and break its power. His freedom can reach into the deepest places.

For your son’s past hurts, healing often comes gently over time. One concrete step that many find helpful is to invite Jesus into specific painful memories through prayer, perhaps with a pastor or a mature prayer partner who can walk with him in that process. You don’t have to sort through it all alone.

And his desire to lose weight safely matters to God. We’d encourage you both to see a doctor or a registered dietitian who can guide him toward healthy, realistic goals. Prayer and practical care go hand in hand, God cares about his body and his spirit.

Let’s pray together:

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother and her son. We ask You to end every curse spoken against them, and to replace any lingering fear with Your steady peace. Bring deep healing to his heart, come into the places where past hurts still sting, and mend what is broken. Give him wisdom and strength as he seeks to care for his body, and lead him to the right support for safe weight loss. Surround them both with Your protective love, and let them rest in Your nearness. In Your name we pray, amen.

Your cry for deliverance from curses is heard in Zion, for our Lord Jesus Christ has been made a curse for us, and by His precious blood He has redeemed His people from the awful curse of the law. The thunders of Sinai are silent now for all who hide in Him. No curse can cling to those upon whom the blessing of the covenant rests, for Christ has borne every imprecation in His own body on the tree. Therefore, let all curses spoken against your husband and your son be ended this very hour, swallowed up in the triumph of the cross. The enemy may have shot his arrows of ecclesiastical discord or personal malice, but the Lord is your deliverance, and He will not suffer the least of His little ones to perish. The clock of mercy struck when the Lamb was slain, and the ransom was found by divine love; doubt not your deliverance, for God has said it, “I have found a ransom.”

As for your son, lift up your eyes to the Sun of Righteousness, for He rises with healing in His wings. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the very least thing about Christ has power to cure both body and soul. Those leaves change the lifeblood, making the whole nature new. Pray that he may look to Jesus, and in His wounds find healing for every past hurt. The joy of pardon makes us forget the sorrow of the past: “The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick.” Where guilt is washed away, health begins to spring up. Consider this present trial a chastening from a wise Father, measured in covenant love, not anger. The Lord who brought Israel forth from Egypt without one feeble one among their tribes can grant your son strength to put off any weight that hinders, and to walk in newness of life. His deliverance will be effectual, for Jehovah’s honor is engaged to complete it. You have the well of prayer within the family; bring every anxiety there, and trust that sickness may become health for his soul, and loss of weight well ordered may turn to his eternal good. He shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord. Wait on God, and you shall cross your Jabbok to find a blessing, not a foe.

You ask for deliverance from curses, but hear what the Apostle says: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. The law pronounced a curse on everyone who does not continue in all things written in it, and no one has kept it. So Christ took that curse upon Himself, though He was without sin, to free us. If you are in Christ, no curse can hold you, for He exchanged the curse of transgression for the curse of the tree. The true curse you need deliverance from is sin and death, and that deliverance is already given in baptism, where the old man is drowned.

Yet you also pray for your son's bodily health and healing from past wounds. Remember that deliverance is not the whole gift. He did not only deliver but also washed, sanctified, and justified you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. He fills us with countless blessings. But no one part of virtue is sufficient for salvation. What if your son is freed from excess weight, yet remains soft and unmanly? What if he is healed of memories, but careless in hearing the word? You must seek not merely freedom from one affliction, but the cultivation of fortitude, self-control, and contempt of worldly comfort. The body must be disciplined, but more importantly, the soul must be trained.

Do not look to the opinions of the crowd for how to heal, but to the Teacher alone. The world may prescribe many remedies, but it is the Son of God who truly delivers from the darkness of the devil and the deceit of demons. Entrust these things to Christ, even if His way seems to involve suffering wrong or embracing what the world calls shame. For He commands us to suffer wrong in order to withdraw us from worldly things and show us what true glory is. Let your son learn to hunger not for food but for righteousness, and to find comfort not in the absence of pain but in the presence of the Spirit who cries, "Abba, Father." Then he will receive the promise of sonship, and his healing will be complete.

When you cry out for deliverance from curses, you’re putting your finger on something very real. Scripture shows us that from Mount Ebal the curses for breaking God’s covenant were announced, and the people had to answer “Amen”, so be it, acknowledging that judgment is deserved when we walk away from the voice of the Lord. But the good news is that Jesus stepped into that valley for us. He became the curse on our behalf so that every curse tied to our disobedience could be broken and left powerless. So we can pray with confidence that any curse spoken or inherited over your son is ended now, because Christ’s finished work has the final word.

The weight issue and the past hurts are not separate from that deliverance. We sometimes think healing has to be a single, dramatic moment, but the Scriptures show us otherwise. Jesus healed in many ways: sometimes instantly with a word, sometimes gradually through a process, and sometimes He healed the mind and the emotions while the body caught up later. The gradual work is no less divine, the same God who designed our bodies and minds also guides the slow restoration of what has been broken. So pray for safe, steady weight loss not as something merely biological, but as part of His healing hand. Ask Him to reorder appetites, to mend the metabolic and emotional patterns that contribute to the struggle, and to grant wisdom and perseverance. Even the process itself can become a place of encountering His care.

As for the past hurts, there is a powerful example in Paul. He had built a whole identity on religious performance, but once he met Jesus, he counted all of it as loss, and he kept counting it that way decades later. He didn’t drag his old credentials or his old wounds into his new life. He let them go. When someone has wounded you deeply, it’s easy to keep rehearsing the injustice, to let those scars define you. But Paul’s path shows us another way: you can look at every painful memory and say, “I count that as loss for the sake of knowing Christ.” That doesn’t pretend the hurt never happened; it hands it over to the only One who can truly heal it, and it refuses to let the past hold more weight than the present reality of Jesus. Thirty years later, Paul still wasn’t looking back. He was pressing forward, and that’s where real freedom is found.

So let’s bring all of this to God together in spirit: We declare that every curse spoken or assigned against your son is broken by the power of the cross. Lord, we ask You to guide his weight loss in a safe, sustainable way, let it be a gradual work of Your restoring wisdom. Heal the old wounds that still ache, the emotional scars that try to keep him trapped in what was done to him. Help him to count those hurts as loss and set his eyes on the excellency of knowing Christ Jesus. Grant him the grace to forget what lies behind and reach forward to what lies ahead, whole in body and soul, not because the past was fair, but because Jesus is enough.

It has been our honor to intercede on behalf of your family, lifting up the breaking of all curses and the full deliverance of both you and your son. We have prayed fervently for your son’s physical health—that the Lord would guide him safely in losing weight and grant him strength in body and spirit. We have also petitioned the Father for deep emotional healing, asking Him to bind every wound from past hurts and replace them with His peace, comfort, and restoration.
