When someone speaks a curse over you, it is easy to feel a shadow hanging overhead. But Scripture gives us this firm anchor: a curse without cause will not alight. You do not need to live in fear of words spoken in malice. The Lord is your safety. Those who trust in Him are kept from the destruction the enemy intends. People may seek the approval of others or fear their ill wishes, but every judgment really comes from God. Stand in His favor, not in dread of human opinion.
If there is any sin that has opened a door, the way forward is not to cower but to confess. The promise remains that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Christ Himself became a curse for us so that we might walk free. You do not need to let the echoes of Mount Ebal drown out the blessing of the cross. I am praying that any spoken curse against you and your son is broken now, not because of a formula, but because you are hidden in Jesus.
For your son, I am asking the Lord for two things: safe weight loss and deep healing from past hurts. Do not underestimate how closely those can be tied together. When the heart carries old wounds, the body often bears the weight of them. The betrayal of a trusted friend, the careless words that cut to the bone, those injuries can linger far longer than a physical one. But he does not have to live trapped in the horror of past days. Healing is real, and it is often gradual. The Lord who created the body also designed its processes of restoration. A step-by-step change is just as much a divine work as an instantaneous one.
I pray your son will find freedom from the defeat of yesterday. Like the one who counted all his former gains as loss for the excellency of knowing Christ, he can learn to release the weight of old grievances and refuse to pick them back up. The past only keeps its grip when we let it. There is a healing that goes on in the mind and emotions, a mending of scars that no one else can see. I am asking Jesus, who touched lepers and cast out darkness, to come near to your son and bring that quiet, thorough healing. May he not seek vengeance in his thoughts, but instead discover how safe it is to put his trust in the Lord.
I join you in calling on the Lord to deliver your household from every shadow and to guide your son into health of body and soul. Our need is desperate, but Jesus is near.
