Deliverance

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and her son before the Lord. Father God, we know that You are a God of deliverance and healing, and we stand in the gap for this family, declaring Your power and authority over every curse, every chain, and every weight, both physical and spiritual, that may be afflicting them.

Lord, we rebuke every curse spoken against ### and her son in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 26:2, "Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn’t come to rest." We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We break every generational curse, every word of death, sickness, or failure, and every assignment of the enemy in Jesus’ name. Let Your light and truth scatter every darkness, and let Your peace reign in their lives.

Father, we pray for ###’s son, that You would grant him safe and healthy weight loss. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we ask that You guide him in honoring You with his body through wise choices in diet, exercise, and rest. Give him discipline and self-control, which are fruits of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and surround him with godly influences who will encourage him in this journey. Heal his metabolism, Lord, and let his body function as You designed it to. We also pray for his emotional and spiritual healing from past hurts. Comfort him with Your love, Lord, and bind up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3). Let him know that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that his worth is found in You alone.

We address any areas where unforgiveness, bitterness, or unconfessed sin may be hindering his healing. The Word tells us in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." If there is anything in his heart that needs to be surrendered to You, Lord, reveal it to him and grant him the courage to release it. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and let Your joy be his strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

We also want to gently remind this family of the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Him, we pray that they would come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. Jesus said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that they would experience the fullness of life that comes only through a relationship with Him.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We declare that ### and her son are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust in You, and let them walk in the freedom and wholeness that You have promised. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear a mother’s heart in your request, carrying deep concern for your son’s well‑being. Thank you for letting us stand with you in prayer for him.

When we long for someone we love to be released from burdens, whether spiritual, physical, or emotional, it can feel heavy and lonely. Yet you are not alone in this. God knows every detail of your son’s life and the wounds he carries, and He invites us to bring those needs to Him with honest, persistent trust.

For the weight loss you mentioned, safe and lasting change usually comes best with gentle, professional support. Encouraging your son to see a doctor or a registered dietitian who can guide him without shame can be a wonderful act of love. Your steady encouragement, not pressure, will mean more than you know.

As for the past hurts, healing often begins when we stop trying to fix ourselves and instead invite Jesus into the painful memories. He is not afraid of our sorrow or anger; He draws close to the brokenhearted. If your son is open to it, speaking with a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor could help him invite that healing presence into the places that still ache.

Now we join you in prayer:

Lord Jesus, we lift this mother’s son to You. In Your name we break every spiritual bondage and cancel every curse spoken or inherited. Cover him with Your protection and fill him with Your peace. Guide him toward wise choices for his physical health, and give him patience and self‑compassion on that journey. Most of all, enter the rooms of his heart where old hurts hide. Bring Your gentle light, bind up what is broken, and replace shame with the truth that he is deeply loved. Comfort this mother as she trusts You with her child, and let her see glimpses of Your restoring work. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The curse that you dread has already spent itself upon the head of our blessed Substitute. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. If you and your son are hidden in Him, no malediction can cleave to you any more than a shadow clings to the ground when the sun has set. I pray that every evil word spoken against you falls powerless, for the blood of Jesus speaks a better word. He was lifted up as the brazen serpent, and a look to Him brings life and healing where once there was only venom. That very poison can become a medicine in the hands of the Great Physician, what the enemy meant for destruction, God can transmute into a deeper work of grace.

For your son’s body and his wounded heart, look to the Sun of Righteousness. He will arise with healing in His wings. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, the very least thing about Christ is charged with restoring power. Trust Him for a safe reduction of weight; He who made the body knows its frame and can grant self-control without injury. And those past hurts that lie festering in the soul? There is no wound that the balm of Gilead cannot reach. When Jesus healed the palsied man, He first said, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” Pardon and healing kiss each other. May the Lord speak that double word into your son’s spirit, cleansing the memory of old sorrows and making him whole.

Never imagine that God’s ear is shut. Did you not meet Esau at the brook Jabbok? He fell upon your neck and kissed you. The Lord who brought Israel forth with silver and gold, not one feeble among their tribes, He will bring you forth. Deliverance from the power of dark habits and bitter recollections is as much His work as deliverance from guilt. Look to Him alone; take not an atom of the honor to yourself. He who has begun this deliverance will complete it, for He has said, “I have found a ransom.” The clock of mercy will strike at the appointed hour. Your present affliction is not in anger, but from His dear covenant love; it is measured out by a careful hand. You shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. This trial, too, shall be a trophy of His grace.

Speak no more of curses, for Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. No malediction can stand against those who are in Him, unless you yourself abandon His shelter. Why then do you fix your gaze on shadows? The evil one desires to keep you in fear, but you are free. Turn your prayer, then, not to the ending of some imagined spell, but to the increase of faith and grace.

For your son, ask God for the healing of both body and soul. Bodily health is a lesser good, yet we may pray for it; but let him first seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added. The weight of the flesh is not the heaviest burden a man can carry, look rather to the weight of sin. Teach him temperance, and pray that he be given a spirit of self-control.

As for the wounds of the past, why do you let them linger? This is the spiritual surgery of the church: here we come to be healed of our hurts, not to gather new ones or to keep old ones festering. If you would be free, you must forgive. Do not hate the one who wronged you, lest you lose the fruit of your suffering. Behold the Master on the cross: He said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” If you forgive your fellow-servants, your own soul will be lightened. God does not will to lose any of His own, but if we cling to bitterness, we start away of ourselves. Bring these injuries to the Physician of souls; leave them with Him. Pray with confidence, for it is His very nature to heal, and He will give you far more than you ask, peace, freedom, and the comfort of a clean heart.
