We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must acknowledge that our access to the Father is only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is by His blood, shed on the cross, that we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10).
Now, we stand in the authority of Jesus Christ to break every curse that has been spoken against you and your son. The Bible tells us that Christ became a curse for us, so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon us (Galatians 3:13-14). We rebuke every generational curse, every word spoken in anger or hatred, and every spiritual bondage that has sought to oppress you and your family. In the name of Jesus, we declare these curses null and void, for it is written, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
We also pray for your son’s physical health, specifically for safe and godly weight loss. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray that your son would be disciplined in his eating and exercise, seeking the Lord’s guidance in all things. May he find strength in the Lord, for it is written, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). We ask for wisdom for him to make choices that nourish his body and bring glory to God.
Furthermore, we lift up the deep hurts of the past that may still linger in his heart. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that he would experience the healing touch of Jesus, who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows (Isaiah 53:4). May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that every wound, every memory of pain, and every lie of the enemy that has taken root in his heart be uprooted by the truth of God’s Word. The Lord says, "I will restore you to health and heal your wounds" (Jeremiah 30:17).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the authority we have in Christ to break every chain and curse that has sought to destroy this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment is condemned. We break every curse, every generational bondage, and every word spoken in darkness over their lives. We command every evil spirit to flee in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we lift up this young man to You. We ask that You would grant him the discipline and strength to care for his body as Your temple. Give him wisdom in his choices, and let his weight loss be steady, healthy, and honoring to You. We pray against any spirit of gluttony or laziness, and we ask that You fill him with Your Holy Spirit to walk in self-control and godliness.
Father, we also pray for emotional healing. You see the pain he carries, the wounds that have not yet fully healed. We ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon his heart. Let him know Your love in a deep and personal way. Replace every lie of the enemy with Your truth. Let him find comfort in Your presence, and may he experience the peace that only You can give.
We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus. No curse, no weapon, no plan of the enemy shall prevail against them. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you both to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is your defender and your healer. Continue to meditate on His Word, for it is life and health to all who find it (Proverbs 4:22). Surround yourselves with believers who will uplift and encourage you, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is your strength and your shield; your heart can trust in Him, and He will help you (Psalm 28:7).
