We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him into your heart as Lord. Without this, no deliverance or healing is truly possible, for it is Christ who breaks every chain.
Now, we stand in agreement with the Word of God, which declares that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). Every curse spoken, inherited, or sent against you and your son has no power in the name of Jesus. We rebuke every assignment of darkness, every generational curse, and every spirit of infirmity that has sought to oppress your household. The Word tells us that whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36), and we declare that freedom over you and your son right now. The blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24), and it cries out for your deliverance and protection.
Father, we lift up this precious son before You. You knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14), and You have a good plan for his life. We pray for safe and healthy weight loss, not by the world’s standards, but by Your wisdom and grace. Give him discipline in his eating and exercise, but more than that, heal the root of any emotional or spiritual bondage that may have contributed to his struggle. The enemy often uses past hurts to keep us in cycles of defeat, but You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask You to bring deep healing to his soul—every rejection, every wound, every lie he has believed about himself. Replace those lies with Your truth: that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, that he is loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and that his identity is found in Christ alone.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for his parents. Give them discernment to guide him with love and truth, to speak life over him, and to model a godly lifestyle. Surround him with godly influences—friends, mentors, and leaders who will encourage him in his faith and his health. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that he will walk in the fullness of the destiny You have for him.
We also take a moment to address any areas where sin may have opened doors to the enemy’s influence. If there has been involvement in the occult, unforgiveness, bitterness, or any other unrepentant sin, we urge repentance. The Bible warns that our adversary prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). But we resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by our brotherhood in the world (1 Peter 5:9). Confess your sins one to another, that you may be healed (James 5:16). If there are areas of your life or your son’s life that need to be surrendered to God, do so now. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Finally, we pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit over your home. May the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—be evident in your lives (Galatians 5:22-23). May your son grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). We declare that he is not defined by his past or his struggles, but by the finished work of Christ on the cross. He is more than a conqueror through Him who loved him (Romans 8:37).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we break every curse, cancel every assignment of the enemy, and release the healing, deliverance, and freedom that Christ died to give. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for moving mightily on behalf of this family. May they walk in the light of Your truth and experience the abundant life You have promised. Amen.
