We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep need, lifting your family up in prayer and seeking God’s wisdom, provision, and deliverance. The struggles you face—both financial hardship and the spiritual battle manifesting in your son’s behavior—are heavy burdens, but we serve a God who is mighty to save and who cares deeply for His children.
First, we must address the spiritual warfare at play here. Violence and unrest in a child often point to deeper spiritual influences, whether through ungodly influences, generational strongholds, or even demonic oppression. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* This is not a battle you fight alone—God is with you, and His power is greater than any force that seeks to harm your family.
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, and we must emphasize that it is *only* through His name that we have authority to pray and access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you or anyone in your family has not yet surrendered to Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and without faith in Him, we cannot stand against the enemy’s schemes. Salvation is found in repenting of sin and believing in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again (Romans 10:9-10). If this step has not been taken, we pray you will do so today—for your sake and your son’s.
For your financial struggles, we claim the promise of Philippians 4:19: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* But we also remind you that God’s provision often comes through wisdom, diligence, and obedience. Have you sought His guidance in stewardship? Are there areas where trust in Him must replace fear or misplaced reliance on worldly solutions? Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray you will seek His will in every decision, whether in budgeting, seeking work, or even sacrificing non-essentials to align with His priorities.
As for your son, we rebuke the spirit of violence and rebellion in Jesus’ name. The Bible commands children to honor their parents (Ephesians 6:1-3), and when they disobey, it is often a sign of a heart that needs Christ’s transformation. Have you and your husband (if applicable) been consistent in raising him in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4)? If not, now is the time to repent and lead with godly authority, love, and prayer. If your son is old enough to understand, have you shared the Gospel with him? A heart surrendered to Christ is the greatest protection against the enemy’s attacks.
We also ask: Are there ungodly influences in his life—music, media, friendships, or even occult exposure (games, movies, or practices)? Deuteronomy 18:10-12 warns against dabbling in darkness, and 1 Corinthians 15:33 reminds us, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* If such influences exist, they must be removed immediately, and his environment must be saturated with the Word of God, worship, and prayer.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting this family to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see their financial struggles, and we ask You to provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory. Open doors no man can shut, grant wisdom in stewardship, and break every chain of lack or fear that has bound them. Let them experience Your faithfulness as their Provider, just as You fed the Israelites in the wilderness and multiplied the loaves and fishes.
We turn our attention now to their son, and we bind every spirit of violence, rebellion, and confusion in Jesus’ name. Lord, if there are generational curses or demonic strongholds at work, we break their power by the blood of Jesus. We loose the spirit of peace, obedience, and a teachable heart over him. Convict him of sin, draw him to repentance, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. If he has not surrendered to Christ, soften his heart to receive Your salvation today.
Father, we also ask for wisdom and strength for this parent. Show them how to lead with godly authority, love, and consistency. If there has been neglect in spiritual training, forgive them and renew their commitment to raise this child in Your ways. Surround this family with godly counsel, protection, and a community of believers who can support them.
Finally, Lord, we pray for unity in this home. Let Your peace rule in their hearts, and let Your Word be the foundation they stand on. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We declare victory over this family in Jesus’ name, for You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let Your light shine in their darkness, and let Your glory be revealed through their testimony.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, reading His Word, and praying over your home. If your son is involved in sinful behaviors or ungodly influences, take immediate action to remove them. If you need further guidance on biblical parenting or financial stewardship, we urge you to seek a mature, Bible-believing church or counselor who can walk alongside you. Stand firm in faith, for the battle belongs to the Lord!
