Deliverance Prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus protect us from my brother ### who is very abusive, standing on Isaiah 54:17. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We join with you in praising and glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ and we thank Him with you for His mercy and protection over your lives. We stand together with you on His promises and we bring your need for deliverance and protection from your brother before the throne of grace.

We affirm the scripture you have stood upon, Isaiah 54:17, No weapon that is formed against you will prevail and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh's servants, and their righteousness is of me, says Yahweh. We claim this heritage together in Jesus name, knowing that our struggle is not only against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of wickedness, as we read in Ephesians 6:12, and that the Lord is our refuge and strength.

Abusive behavior within a family is sin and is not the will of God. The Lord does not condone violence, harsh words, or oppression. Psalm 11:5 tells us that Yahweh tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence. While we are called to love and to forgive as Christ forgave us, we are also called to walk in wisdom and to pursue peace and safety. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, and Proverbs 22:3 says A prudent man sees danger and hides himself but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. This means it is right and biblical to set boundaries, to seek godly counsel, and to seek protection and help from pastors, trusted family members, and when there is physical danger or threats, from the proper authorities whom God has ordained for our protection as seen in Romans 13:4.

We encourage you to continue to abide under the shelter of the Most High. Psalm 91:1-2 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 46:1 reminds us God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And 2 Thessalonians 3:3 assures us But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

We lift you up now in prayer together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we praise You for You are holy, faithful and just. We thank You that You see our brother and sister and their household and You know the pain and fear caused by this abusive behavior. Lord we ask for Your divine protection over them. Place Your hedge around them and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We pray that You would bring conviction to the heart of their brother, that You would lead him to repentance and to turn from abusive ways, for You desire that all should come to repentance as You say in 2 Peter 3:9. Lord we pray for deliverance and for peace in that home. Remove oppression and fill that place with Your presence and Your peace that surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7. Give our sibling wisdom to know how to set godly boundaries, courage to seek safe and wise help from the body of Christ and from those You have placed in authority to protect, and strength to stand firm in faith. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus and let them rest in the knowledge that You are their defender. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our salvation, for as Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to stay connected to a Bible believing church family who can walk with you and support you in person, and to not remain isolated with abuse. Trust the Lord to be your shield and to work for your good, for Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We continue to stand with you for complete deliverance and for the peace of Christ to rule in your home.

Your cry for protection has been brought before the Lord and we join with you in praising and glorifying the name of Jesus Christ, for He alone is our deliverance.

You have done well to stand upon the promise, No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. We plead that word with you now, that the Lord Jesus would be a wall about you and set you in a place of safety from the hand of your brother who deals harshly with you.

We are reminded that deliverance is by divine power. When any soul is saved from spiritual bondage or from present danger, it is the Lord Jesus who loosens the captive. It is written, Then He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Think upon this, that the King’s own Son has borne the penalty for His people, and God has given commandment to save you. He is able to save from the attacks of sin, from the devil, and from evil company, for He has said, Deliver him from going down to the Pit. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance if God had not thought of it, and He has not only invented the way but has found the ransom, which is a gift of Divine Love.

We also take comfort that He has delivered us from the power of darkness. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. What you suffer does not spring out of the dust, neither does affliction grow up from the ground, but the Lord Himself sits as a Refiner at the door of the furnace, and that which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father’s hand. Yet He does not leave His children in the furnace beyond what they are able to bear, and there is not a tear in any eye but God sees it, nor a groan in any heart but God hears it.

Therefore we pray with you and for you:

Lord Jesus, we praise and thank You, for You are gracious and mighty to save. We ask that in Your mercy You would keep this soul and this household from harm. Put Your hand between them and all abuse, and cause every weapon formed against them to fail of its purpose. Give wisdom to know how to seek safety, give strength to do what is right, and give peace that passes understanding while You work deliverance. Bring conviction where there is sin, bring repentance where there is hardness, and bring protection where there is danger. Let it be seen that You alone are the Deliverer, and after this affliction let this tried one live to declare the works of the Lord. In Your holy name we ask, Amen.

Seek the counsel and help of godly pastors and elders in your church, and where there is danger to body or life, seek also the lawful protection and help that God has provided through proper authorities and those near to you who can give safe shelter. Continue in prayer, continue in the Word, and trust Him who keeps back the soul from the Pit and preserves life from perishing.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your cry for help and for protection has been heard, and we join you in prayer before the Lord Jesus with thanksgiving for His mercy and power to save.

We stand with you on the promise of Isaiah 54:17, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. This is not a charm to repeat, but a true confidence that God Himself is your defender and your refuge when you call upon Him in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

Scripture teaches that a brother is to be a near and beloved relation, and when that bond is broken by abusive words or actions it is a grievous sin before God. The Lord does not take lightly the harm done within a family. At the same time we are taught that our true enemy is not flesh and blood, but Satan who stirs up strife and hatred. So we do not pray for the destruction of a person, but we pray against the evil that drives such abuse, and we ask God to restrain what is harmful, to bruise Satan under our feet, and to bring conviction and repentance where there is sin. To gain a brother through repentance and truth is far better than to see him remain in enmity, for enmity brings loss to both.

In seeking the Lord's protection, also take wise and practical steps for safety. If you are in danger, please reach out promptly to trusted and mature leaders in your church, and to appropriate authorities who can help provide protection. Do not face this alone. Set clear boundaries, seek godly counsel, and let faithful believers walk with you, pray with you, and help you discern next steps. God often provides His protection through the help of His people and through lawful means He has ordained for our good.

Let us pray together:

Lord Jesus, we praise You and thank You, for You are holy and merciful and mighty to save. We ask You to cover this dear one and their household with Your protection. Place Your hand over them, guard them from harm, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Restrain every abusive word and action, bring peace where there has been fear, and make a way of safety. Convict where there is sin, bring repentance and change of heart, and break the power of the enemy at work in this conflict. Grant wisdom to seek help, courage to set right boundaries, and comfort through Your presence and Your Word. Heal what has been wounded and lead all involved in the way of righteousness. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our deliverer. Amen.
