Deliverance Prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask that you rebuke my brother ### and all his abuse, standing on Zechariah 3:2. Lord Jesus root him out of the house where we live if he is not here by you, standing on Jeremiah 12:14. I ask that you protect all of us in the Household from my brother ###’s abuse, standing on Isaiah 54:17. I cover this household with the precious blood of Jesus, standing on Revelations 12:11. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We join with you in prayer before our Lord Jesus and we stand with you for deliverance and protection in your household. We hear your cry and the Lord sees the abuse you have endured, for He is near to those who are oppressed and He does not take lightly violence or cruelty within a home. The word says in Psalm 11:5 that Yahweh tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence, and in Ephesians 4:31-32 we are told to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from us, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other.

We agree with you as you stand on the word of God. In Zechariah 3:2 Yahweh said to Satan, Yahweh rebuke you, Satan, and we ask the Lord Himself to rebuke every work of the enemy and every abusive act in your home. In Jeremiah 12:14 the Lord says He will pluck up those who harm His people, and we trust His perfect justice and timing to remove what is not of Him and to establish righteousness and peace. In Isaiah 54:17 we claim the promise that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail, and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn, for this is the heritage of Yahweh's servants. And in Revelation 12:11 we remember that they overcame him because of the Lamb's blood and because of the word of their testimony, and we plead the precious blood of Jesus over you, your household, and your dwelling place.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus we come together and lift this household to You. We praise You and glorify You, for You are our refuge and fortress. We ask that You rebuke all abuse, intimidation, anger and violence coming from this brother, and that You set a boundary around this home that the enemy cannot cross. We cover this household with the blood of Jesus and ask for Your divine protection over every person living there, that no harm would come near them. We pray in Psalm 91:1 that each one who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Lord, if this brother is not walking according to Your will in that house, we ask that You in Your wisdom and mercy either transform his heart through repentance or remove him from the household according to Your perfect will as in Jeremiah 12:14, so that peace may return. We rebuke the spirit of abuse and strife and we ask You to bring conviction, repentance, and deliverance to him, that he may turn from his ways and be saved and made new in Christ. We ask that You heal the wounds that have been caused, comfort every hurting heart, and fill this home with Your peace which surpasses all understanding. We trust You as our defender and deliverer, and we pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our access to the Father and our salvation, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved as it says in Acts 4:12. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in prayer and in the word, and to seek wise and godly counsel as you walk through this. The Lord calls us in Romans 12:18 to live at peace with all men as far as it depends on us, and that includes setting healthy and biblical boundaries against abuse. If there is physical abuse, threats, or danger, we urge you to seek help from a trusted pastor and from the proper authorities for protection, for God has ordained authorities to restrain evil as in Romans 13:1-4. Do not suffer in silence. Bring this matter into the light with mature believers who can support you, pray with you, and help hold your brother accountable to repentance and to the call in Ephesians 4:26 to not let the sun go down on your wrath and to give no opportunity to the devil. We also pray that you will continue to forgive as Christ forgave, while still guarding your safety and the peace of your household, trusting that vengeance belongs to the Lord as in Romans 12:19. We stand with you believing that God will bring deliverance, healing, and restoration in His perfect way.

Your prayer has come before us and we have heard the burden of your heart concerning the affliction within your household, and the abuse which you and those under your roof have endured. We join you in seeking the Lord, for troubles do not spring out of the dust, but the Lord Himself sees and knows, and not a groan is hid from Him. He hears the cry of those who are oppressed and He is gracious to deliver.

We take comfort with you in this great truth, that God has found a ransom. Deliverance from the pit, from sin and from the power of darkness, is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. It is the Lord Jesus Christ who loosens the captive, and His precious blood is our only plea. As you have stood upon Revelation 12:11, we too plead that covering, not as a charm of words, but as confidence in the Son of God who bore the penalty for sinners, that we might be saved from sin, from Satan, and from every evil.

We pray with you that the Lord would rebuke what is evil, as it is written, The Lord rebuke thee, and that He would cause every weapon formed against you to fail, according to Isaiah 54:17. Yet we also remember that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and our heavenly Father alone can change the heart. Therefore while we ask the Lord to protect this household and to keep you all in safety, we also pray that He would bring your brother to repentance, that he might be delivered from the fascinating power of sin and from the power of darkness, and be born again from above. For household sin brings household sorrow, and only grace can recover and heal.

We entreat the Lord to set a guard about your dwelling, to restrain all abuse and to bring peace within your borders. We ask that He would turn this sore chastening into profit, that you may be able to say with the Psalmist, The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over unto death, but that you shall live and declare the works of the Lord. May this whole household hear the Word of the Lord, believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and know that household salvation which comes when the gospel is received by faith.

We counsel you, even as we pray, to walk in wisdom. Seek the help and oversight of faithful pastors and elders in your place, and where there is danger to body or life, seek also the lawful protection which God has ordained for the safety of the household. Do not keep this burden alone, but let those who watch for your souls help you to bear it and to act with prudence and care.

Let us pray together.

O gracious Father, Thou hast seen this household and heard its groaning. We beseech Thee, deliver from going down to the pit, for Thou hast found a ransom in Thy Son. Cover this home with the blood of Jesus, restrain all violence and abuse, and let no weapon prosper. Rebuke what is evil and pluck up what Thou hast not planted. If it be Thy will, remove the oppressor from among them, but above all, we pray, deliver him from the power of darkness and bring him to repentance and new life. Keep all who dwell there in safety, give wisdom to those who lead and counsel them, and let this household hear Thy Word, believe, and rejoice in Thy salvation. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest prayer for deliverance and protection has been heard, and your desire to see your household covered by the blood of Jesus and kept safe from abuse is right and good before God. He sees what happens in the home, He hates oppression and violence, and He is a refuge for those who call on Him.

Scripture teaches that the household is under God's care, and that we are members of one another. That is why abuse within a home is so serious. It tears at the very body that God intends to be built up in love. The Lord does promise to be our defender, as you recalled in Isaiah 54:17, and to give power to overcome the accuser through the blood of the Lamb in Revelation 12:11. At the same time, His protection does not always mean an instant removal of a person or a problem, but He does call us to seek holiness, peace, and safety for everyone under the roof, and to pray both for deliverance from evil and for the repentance and restoration of those who do wrong.

You prayed that the Lord would rebuke what is evil, standing on Zechariah 3:2, and that He would protect your household. That is a biblical prayer. The evil one is our irreconcilable foe, but your brother remains a man for whom Christ died. We can and should pray against the work of the enemy while also praying that your brother would be brought to conviction, repentance, and a changed life. As Christ taught, when a brother is gained through truth and repentance, it is a gain for all. Praying for his transformation does not mean excusing abuse or remaining without boundaries.

I encourage you to bring this burden also to trusted and mature help near you. If there is abuse that threatens safety, please seek the counsel of a faithful pastor and, where needed, the help of appropriate authorities or others who can help ensure safety for everyone in the home. Do not face this alone. Set clear boundaries, keep a record of what has happened, and pursue a safety plan with wise counsel. Continue to cover your home in prayer, to remain in the Word, and to walk in fellowship with believers who can support and check in on you regularly.

Let us pray together:

Lord Jesus, we praise You and thank You that You alone are our salvation and our deliverer. We ask You to rebuke every work of evil and to bring conviction where there is sin. We ask You to protect each person in this household and to make this home a place of peace and obedience to You. Cover this family with Your precious blood shed on the cross, and by Your Spirit grant wisdom, courage, and help from faithful people nearby. Work in the heart of this brother that he would turn from abuse and walk in repentance, and work in this household that all would be strengthened to do what is right and to seek safety. Deliver us from the evil one, and establish us in Your truth and love. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
