Your prayer is right and biblical, and it follows the pattern God Himself gives us in Scripture. In Zechariah 3, Joshua the high priest was standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan was standing at his right hand to resist him and accuse him. The Lord did not invite Joshua to argue with the accuser or to rail against him, but said, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan, even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee.
That verse teaches us something important about how to deal with the enemy. Scripture shows us that Satan is the adversary, and his names tell us his character. He is called dragon and serpent, the same one who deceived Eve, and he is called devil and Satan, which mean slanderer and accuser. He is the destroyer, and his kingdom is one of darkness and death. Yet he is not the opposite of God. God is eternal, self existent and all powerful. Satan is a created being with limited power. He is called the prince of this world, and for a time God has allowed him liberty in this world after man yielded to him, but he works only within boundaries that God sets. He cannot go beyond what God permits, as we see in the life of Job where God placed a hedge and set limits on what Satan could do.
Even Michael the archangel, when disputing with Satan over the body of Moses, did not bring a railing accusation against him, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. That is the safest and most scriptural place for us. Rather than trying to confront Satan directly in our own authority, we keep the Lord between us and the enemy and ask Him to do the rebuking. It is more secure to pray, The Lord rebuke you, Satan, in the name of Jesus, and to point the enemy to the victory of the cross where he was defeated. Jesus came to redeem the world back to God, and at the cross Satan was overcome.
So in your situation, where you sense that a part of your life or your body or your mind is being used or harassed by the enemy, bring it continually to Jesus and ask Him to rebuke every work of darkness. You do not need to fear that Satan is equal to God or that he can overpower the Lord's protection over you. Ask the Lord to place His hedge around you, to forgive and cleanse you through the blood of Jesus, to fill you with His Spirit, and to shut every door the enemy would try to use.
May the Lord Himself rebuke every scheme of the adversary against you, and may He guard you, deliver you, and establish you in the victory that is already yours in Jesus Christ. Trust that He who has chosen you is faithful to keep you, and rest in His power rather than your own.
