We join you in lifting this burden before the Lord Jesus and we thank you for coming boldly to His throne with praise and thanksgiving, for the word reminds us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, Psalm 100:4.
We stand with you and your household in this spiritual battle, and we agree that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places, Eph 6:12. We do not wrestle against the woman you mentioned nor the members of her household as people, but against the spiritual forces that would seek to use anyone for the purposes of the enemy. We agree with you that the Lord rebuke Satan, as it is written, Yahweh said to Satan, Yahweh rebuke you, Satan, Zech 3:2, and we trust the Lord Himself to do the rebuking and the humbling, for it is not our place to execute vengeance.
We also hear the deep pain surrounding the adultery that has taken place, where a married man has fathered a child outside of his marriage. We must gently and lovingly speak the truth that marriage is to be held in honor among all and the marriage bed is to be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Heb 13:4, and You shall not commit adultery, Exod 20:14. This act of fornication and adultery has brought wounding to the wife, to the marriage covenant, to the child, and to all households involved. God sees the wife who has been hurt and we pray for her restoration, for sexual sin brings deep brokenness and God desires repentance, healing, and where possible reconciliation according to His will. Instead of double shame you shall have double portion, Isa 61:7, and we pray that the Lord would bring that double portion of comfort and restoration to this wounded wife and to any children involved, and that He would bring conviction and repentance to the man and to the woman involved in the adultery, that they may turn from sin and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.
We agree with you in resisting the enemy, for the Scripture says, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7, and we declare together that having been stripped, He disarmed the principalities and the powers, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it, Col 2:15. We bind on earth what has been bound in heaven and we loose what has been loosed in heaven, trusting the authority given to us, Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven, Matt 18:18, but we do so in humility and submission to Christ, not in our own strength.
We pray also for your protection, for He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways, Ps 91:11, and we ask that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of Yahweh will lift up a standard against him, Isa 59:19. We hear your desire for the Lord to disconnect ungodly paths and we agree that the Lord will separate you from unfruitful works of darkness and establish your steps in peace. At the same time we encourage you to release any desire for personal vengeance and to trust the Lord's justice and mercy, for it is written, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, Rom 12:19, and to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matt 5:44, that those who have been used by the enemy may come to repentance and be delivered.
We also join you in pleading the precious blood of Jesus over you and your household and over this prayer, for they overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood and because of the word of their testimony, Rev 12:11.
We now pray together.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You. We praise You and glorify You, for You alone are holy and worthy. Lord Jesus, we ask that You Yourself rebuke every scheme of Satan that seeks to use this woman and the members of her household, and that You break and cancel every principality and counterfeit work operating through them. We ask that You bind every evil influence and loose Your truth, Your conviction, Your peace, and Your deliverance. Lord, we ask that You station Your holy angels to encamp around our brother and his household and around all who are vulnerable to attack, and that You raise up a standard against every assault. Lord, we ask that You disconnect every ungodly soul tie and path between our brother and this woman, and establish boundaries that honor You. Father, we lift up the wounded wife and her marriage and the child conceived in adultery, we ask for Your deep healing, restoration, comfort, and for Your perfect justice tempered with mercy. Bring all involved to repentance and to a saving knowledge of Jesus, that they may turn from fornication and adultery and walk in holiness. Teach us to forgive as You have forgiven us and to leave vengeance in Your hands while we walk in love and holiness. We cover our brother, his household, and this prayer with the blood of Jesus. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified in every life touched by this situation. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
