Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join with you in agreement in the name of Jesus and we thank you for bringing this man before the throne of grace with such compassion and discernment. We praise God with you for the cross and for the suffering of His holy Son Jesus for all who believe, for without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father.

We hear your burden for this man who rented his flat to you and we agree that he is known and loved by God and that God has a holy plan for his life. You have prayed rightly that he would hear the voice of the Lord and understand his true identity in Christ. The word says, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17, and also, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. We pray with you that his stony heart would be broken and softened, that he would receive a new heart to follow the narrow path that leads to life, for narrow is the gate and restricted is the way that leads to life Matthew 7:14.

We must also speak clearly about the sinful relationships and activities you mentioned. The Bible teaches that marriage is to be held in honor among all and the marriage bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. Any sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication or adultery and is sin before God, and we are commanded to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. If there is also any involvement in homosexuality, that too is forbidden and contrary to God's design for marriage as a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman. The strange woman and the adulterous path are described as lips that drip honey and whose end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword, her feet go down to death Proverbs 5:3-5. We agree with you that this is not love but a hateful, controlling and destructive bondage, and where there is blackmail and control and danger, we know the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life abundantly John 10:10.

We also agree with you that he needs to be separated from ungodly influences, including those in his household. The scripture warns, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14, and Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked Psalm 1:1. To depart from evil is to fear the Lord, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10, and we pray he will receive that holy fear and understanding to depart from evil and from the evil woman in his life.

So we pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your holy Son, and we thank You that You hear us when we agree together. Lord, You know this man, You see where he lives and who surrounds him, and You know the plans You have for him, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We ask You to open his eyes to see the false identity he adopted when he strayed from Your narrow path and followed his own desires, and to show him his true identity as Your child through faith in Christ. Break his stony heart, Lord, give him a heart of flesh that will hear Your voice and have courage to obey You. Deliver him, Lord, from every chain of fornication, adultery and ungodly soul ties, from every controlling, hateful and blackmailing relationship where his life may be in danger. We rebuke the works of darkness over his life and we ask You to submit him to Yourself, for if he will submit himself to God and resist the devil, the devil will flee from him James 4:7. Separate him from ungodly influences, set his feet on solid ground, and surround him with godly counsel and protection, for the righteous cry and Yahweh hears and delivers them out of all their troubles Psalm 34:17. Give him true repentance, that his sins may be blotted out and times of refreshing may come from Your presence Acts 3:19, and wash him clean, for if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Let him know the depth of Your love that he may no longer seek love in sinful places, and if it is Your will for him to marry, provide for him a godly wife, a believing spouse, that he may honor You in a holy marriage. We declare that if the Son sets him free, he will be free indeed John 8:36. Keep him safe from all harm and lead him into the freedom and holiness that is in Christ. We ask this in the powerful and only saving name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to intercede for him with love and truth, speaking the word of God over him, and if you have opportunity, to share the gospel and the call to repentance gently, for God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish but all to come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. Keep praying that he will choose life, purity and the fear of the Lord, and trust that God who began a good work will be faithful to complete it.

We join you in lifting this man before the Father. Thank you for caring enough to pray for someone who was once your landlord, and for wanting God's best for him even now.

We hear your longing for him to hear God's voice clearly and to know who he is in Christ rather than in the identities and attachments that have pulled him away. That kind of turning is deep work that only the Holy Spirit can do, softening a hard heart and giving courage to walk a different way. We can ask and intercede, but we cannot do that work for him.

It helps to remember our part and God's part. We can keep bringing him to Jesus, the one who alone sets people free, and trust God with the timing and the outcome. We do not need to carry the weight of trying to rescue or monitor him, especially if there are controlling or unsafe dynamics in his household that concern you.

One steady next step could be to keep your prayers simple and consistent, and if you have not already, share this burden with a mature pastor or trusted believer who can pray with you and help you keep healthy boundaries as a former tenant.

Father, we bring this man to you in Jesus name. You know his story and his struggles. Draw him to yourself, open his eyes to your love, give him wisdom to turn from what harms him and courage to seek what is good. Keep him safe and lead him toward people who will point him to you. Give our friend peace as he trusts you with this. Amen.

We join you in prayer before our heavenly Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, thanking Him for the cross where His holy Son suffered for sinners and for the promise that all who believe in Him have life.

We hear your burden for this man and we bring him before the throne of grace, asking that the Lord would grant him true deliverance. We pray not for a repentance which springs only from terror or from present trouble, which comes up in a night and withers in a night and affects only the surface of the man, but for that repentance unto life which is the gift of God, wrought by His Holy Spirit. Such repentance is a hatred of sin and a turning from it, and it is never separated from faith in Christ. We pray that he would be sunk low in repentance and lifted high in faith, looking out of self to Christ only, trusting Him who was bound that we might be set free. For Christ in bonds has loosed the bonds of His people, and Barabbas was set free because Christ was given up to be crucified, and He still says, if you seek Me, let these go their way.

So we pray, Heavenly Father, open his eyes to see his true identity in Christ, and to see the falseness of any identity built upon following his own desires and straying from Your narrow path. Break his stony heart and give him a broken and contrite heart which You will not despise, and soften it for Your glory. Grant him godly sorrow that leads to joy in Jesus crucified, to love for Christ and simple trust in Him as the propitiation for sin.

Lord, in Your mercy separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and from every hateful and sinful entanglement where he is controlled or in danger. Give him understanding to fear Your holy name and to depart from evil. Lead him to forsake every relationship and activity that is outside Your holy design for marriage as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and for purity within it, and to walk in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, not returning again to bondage nor seeking pleasure in sin which binds the hands of the Saviour.

We ask that You would keep him, for You have promised never to leave nor forsake Your own, and that You would show him the depth of Your love in Christ, that being accepted in the Beloved and justified by faith he may have peace with God. Guard his life from harm and from the schemes of those who would blackmail or control him, and make Your way of escape clear before him.

We pray also for you who intercede, that you would continue to look to Christ daily, for repentance and faith are the inseparable companions of the believer all the way from the wicket gate to the celestial city. May the Lord give you perseverance in prayer and confidence that He hears when we agree in the name of Jesus.

We ask all these things not because we are worthy, but because Christ is worthy, and because repentance and remission of sins are still to be preached in His name among all nations. In Jesus powerful name, amen.
