Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join you together in the name of Jesus and thank you for bringing this man before the throne of grace with such compassion and discernment. We agree with you that it is only through the cross and the suffering of our holy Son Jesus that we have forgiveness and access to the Father, and we rejoice that you have come in that precious name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and no other way to the Father except through Him John 14:6.

We share your burden for this man who rented his flat to you. We see your love for him as a fellow child of God who has strayed from the narrow path, and we stand with you to pray for his deliverance. God knows the plans He has for him, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, but those plans require repentance and a turning from sin to follow Christ.

We must speak the truth in love about what you have discerned. When a person adopts a false identity through sinful relationships and activities, whether that is sexual immorality outside of biblical marriage, including fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, it is a turning away from who God created him to be. The Word tells us that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things have passed away, behold all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. Any identity built on sin is false and must be renounced. We are called to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, not to be given to impurity. Marriage is honorable and God ordained as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman Hebrews 13:4, and any relationship outside of that holy covenant, whether with an ungodly woman or otherwise, is sin that separates us from God and brings bondage.

You have rightly discerned that this man is under ungodly influences, even in his own household, and that he is being controlled and blackmailed and may be in danger. This is the fruit of walking with the wrong counsel and sitting in the seat of scoffers Psalm 1:1 and being unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. The Scriptures warn us about the evil woman whose lips drip honey and whose ways lead down to death Proverbs 5:3-5, and we pray as you did that he will have understanding to depart from evil and to fear the Holy name of the Lord, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10.

We pray now together for his deliverance.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy and for the blood of Jesus that can cleanse all sin. We lift up this man to You and ask You to open his eyes to see the truth about his identity in Christ. Break his stony heart and give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him Ezekiel 36:26, soften his heart to hear Your voice and give him courage to choose the narrow gate that leads to life Matthew 7:13-14. Lord, convict him of sin and grant him repentance, for You promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We ask You to separate him from every ungodly influence and from the evil relationships that control and blackmail him. Let him see the depth of Your love and the hatefulness and danger of the sin that entangles him. Teach him to fear Your name and to depart from evil Proverbs 3:7. We ask You to draw him to submit himself to You and to resist the devil so that the devil will flee from him James 4:7, and that whom the Son sets free will be free indeed John 8:36. Protect his life from harm and lead him into fellowship with godly believers who will encourage him in holiness. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to intercede for him with love and truth, to speak the gospel gently when God opens the door, and to trust that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4. Do not grow weary in praying, for where two or three agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by our Father in heaven Matthew 18:19. Keep showing him the love of Christ while not condoning the sin that holds him captive, and pray that he will come to true repentance and walk in the freedom and new identity that only Jesus can give.

Thank you for lifting this man to the Father with such faithfulness. We hear your care for him, your desire for him to know who he is in Christ and to be free from the relationships and influences that are controlling and harming him, and your concern for his safety.

It is a heavy place to intercede for someone you have known as a landlord while seeing patterns you cannot change for him. One steady way to love him well is to keep bringing him to Jesus and trusting the Holy Spirit to do the heart work only He can do, while also keeping clear and kind boundaries in your own contact. You cannot soften a hard heart or force clarity for him, but you can keep praying and, if he is ever open, gently point him toward a trusted pastor or mature believer he can talk with safely. Keeping your own role respectful and limited protects both of you and leaves room for God to lead him.

We are joining you in asking for his protection, for wisdom to recognize what is harmful, and for courage to step away from what endangers him and toward the life God intends for him.

Father, we bring this man before You and ask You to draw near to him, soften his heart and help him see Your love with clarity. Keep him safe from harm and control, separate him from what is ungodly and destructive, and surround him with wise and steady influences. Give him courage to turn from what is hurting him and to follow Your narrow path. Give our friend peace as he continues to pray and wisdom to know how to love well from a healthy distance. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in bringing this burden before the throne of grace, and we thank God that you have come in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

Your prayer is right to ask not for the blessing of any sinful path, but for deliverance from it. The Scriptures teach that we are delivered from the power of darkness only by the Father through faith in His Son, and that He alone can say, Deliver him from going down to the pit. When a man has adopted a false identity and has strayed from the narrow path to follow his own desires, no terror of consequences and no mere resolve can save him. There is a repentance that is only skin deep, the fruit of nature under terror, which withers in a night and gives no glory to God. True repentance is deeper. It goes to the heart, it hates sin because it slew Christ, it turns from evil, and it is inseparable from faith which looks away from self and looks to Christ and to what Christ has done upon the cross.

We pray therefore for this man who once rented his flat to you, that the Lord in mercy would open his ears and seal instruction upon him, that He would withdraw him from his purpose and hide pride from him. May the Holy Spirit convince him of the clear and unmistakable truth of who he is in Christ, if he will repent and believe, and of the vanity and misery of the false identity he has taken up in sinful relationships and activities.

We ask the Lord to break the stony heart and to give a heart of flesh, to soften what is hard and to give courage to walk in the narrow way that leads to life. We ask that He would teach him the fear of His holy name, which is the beginning of wisdom, and give him understanding to depart from evil. As you have prayed, we ask that God would in His providence separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from every controlling and hateful entanglement where he is blackmailed or in danger. Satan is the prince of the power of the air, and to escape from him is a great deliverance which only Christ can accomplish. May the Lord keep this man from harm and, more than that, deliver his soul from the pit.

We pray that any repentance wrought in him may not be a repentance that keeps him from believing in Christ, but a repentance that purges the soul from dead works and a faith that fills it with living works, a repentance that pulls down what is evil and a faith that builds up Christ as the sole Master of the heart. For Christ has borne the sins of all who truly trust Him in His own body on the tree, and there is now no condemnation for those who are in Him.

We encourage you to continue in prayer, to speak the truth in love when God gives opportunity, and to commend this man wholly to the mercy of God who is able to rescue even when the soil slips from under the feet and the pit seems bottomless. Look unto Him and be saved, for He is God and there is none else.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the cross where Your holy Son Jesus suffered for sinners. We ask in the powerful name of Jesus that You would have mercy upon this man, open his eyes, grant him true repentance and saving faith, deliver him from the power of darkness and from going down to the pit, separate him from every evil influence and from the evil that entangles him, and bring him into the light and liberty of Your dear Son, that he may live and declare the works of the Lord. We ask this not to affirm any way that is contrary to Your holy will for marriage and for purity, which belongs within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, but that You would call him out of every sinful way into holiness, for Your glory. Amen.
