We join you in agreement for this man and we thank you for bringing his need before the Lord with such compassion and discernment. We hear your heart for his deliverance and for his eyes to be opened to who he truly is in Christ, and we stand with you that God who sees him and knows the plans He has for him will break through the deception and bondage that has held him.
We agree that the Lord desires to give him a new identity and a new heart. As it is written, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh, Ezekiel 36:26. The false identity he has taken on through sinful relationships and activities is not who God created him to be, and we rebuke the lie that he must remain in that sin to find love or belonging. The Lord calls him to the narrow way, for narrow is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life, Matthew 7:14, and that way requires repentance and turning from sin.
We must speak clearly about the sinful relationships you mentioned. If he is involved in sexual immorality outside of biblical marriage, whether fornication or adultery, or if he has entered into homosexual acts, this is sin before a holy God and must be repented of. The Scripture says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4. God ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside of that, especially one marked by control, blackmail, manipulation and danger, is not from God but from the enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy. We also hear your concern about the evil woman in his life and the ungodly influences in his household. We are warned not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and to keep our way far from the immoral woman, for her house is the way to Sheol, Proverbs 5:5, Proverbs 7:27. A relationship where he is controlled and blackmailed is not love, for love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth, 1 Corinthians 13:6, and perfect love casts out fear, 1 John 4:18.
We are encouraged that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and delivered. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. Deliverance comes when we submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee, James 4:7.
So we pray together with you now.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the cross and for Your holy Son Jesus who suffered for all who believe. We praise Your holy name. Lord, You know the plans You have for this man, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. We ask in the powerful name of Jesus that You open his eyes to the unmistakable truth of his identity in Christ and tear away the false identity built on sin and desire. Break his stony heart, soften him and give him courage to choose the narrow path and to fear Your holy name, for The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, Proverbs 1:7. Lord, separate him from every ungodly influence, including those in his household, and from the evil woman who controls and blackmails him. Bring to light every hidden trap and protect his life from danger, for You are his refuge and fortress, Psalm 91:2. Give him understanding to depart from evil and to hate what You hate, and draw him into true repentance so that he may be washed, sanctified and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus. Lead him, if it is Your will, toward a godly marriage that honors You, or into a season of holy singleness devoted wholly to You, and restore to him the joy of walking in purity and freedom. We ask that You also strengthen the one who prayed for him, to continue in intercession with wisdom and boundaries. We believe You hear us when we agree together, Matthew 18:19, and we trust You to complete the work You have begun in him. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
