Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We thank you for sharing this heavy burden and we join with you in agreement in the name of Jesus for this man, believing that our Father hears us when we agree together as Jesus promised in Matthew 18:19-20.

We stand with you in praying for his deliverance and for the revelation of his true identity in Christ. The enemy seeks to give a false identity through sinful relationships and activities, but the truth is that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. We pray that the Lord will open his eyes to see that following his own desires down the broad way only leads to destruction, while the narrow path leads to life, as Jesus taught in Matthew 7:13-14. We ask God to do what only He can do and give him a new heart as He promised in Ezekiel 36:26, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

We must speak clearly about the sinful relationships you mentioned. Any sexual relationship outside of marriage between one man and one woman is sin before God. Scripture calls sex before or outside of marriage fornication or adultery and God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, but He also offers complete forgiveness and cleansing. Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled. 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us to flee sexual immorality, and Proverbs 5:3-5 warns that the lips of an adulteress drip honey and her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood. If this man is entangled with an evil woman who is controlling and blackmailing him, we pray he will see this is not love but a trap of the enemy, and that he will find the courage to depart from evil. The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 9:10, and that holy fear gives understanding to turn from sin. We also pray he will be separated from every ungodly influence in his household and elsewhere, for bad company corrupts good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33 and we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14.

We pray for his protection where his life may be in danger from control and blackmail. The Lord is his refuge and fortress, and we ask God to be his deliverer. Psalm 91:1-2 says he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We pray that he will submit himself therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from him. James 4:7, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4. If the Son makes him free, he will be free indeed. John 8:36.

We now pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the cross and for Your holy Son Jesus who suffered for all who believe. We praise Your holy name. Lord, You know this man who rented his flat to our brother and You know the plans You have for him, plans for peace and not for evil. Jeremiah 29:11. We ask You to break his stony heart and soften it for Your glory. Pour out Your Spirit upon him and give him a heart of flesh that hears Your voice. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he strayed from Your narrow path, and show him his true identity as Your child, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Give him godly sorrow that leads to repentance and give him courage to follow You, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. Lord, separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and from the evil woman in his life. Expose every controlling, hateful and blackmailing relationship for what it is and make a way of escape for him. Teach him to fear Your holy name and to depart from evil. Wash him and cleanse him, for if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. Restore him to walk in purity, and if it is Your will, lead him to a godly marriage that honors You, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that reflects Christ and the church. Protect his life from danger, surround him with Your angels, and let him know the depth of Your love that casts out fear. We ask all these things in the powerful and only saving name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to intercede for him with love and truth, to speak the gospel to him gently when the Lord opens the door, and to trust that God is able to deliver completely those who come to Him through Jesus. We also pray the Lord will strengthen you and give you peace as you wait upon Him.

Thank you for bringing this man before the Lord with such steady care. We hear your burden for him to know who he is in Christ, to have a softened heart, and to find freedom from influences that feel controlling and even unsafe.

It is a loving thing to keep praying when you cannot control the outcome. A strong sense of identity in Christ often grows slowly as a person begins to see himself as God sees him, as His beloved child, and that quiet work of the Spirit is what steadies someone when old patterns and difficult relationships pull hard. We can ask God to do that deep work and trust Him with the timing and the way.

One simple next step that may help you as you carry this is to keep your prayers focused and bounded. You have already named what matters most, his safety, his clarity, and his willingness to walk away from what harms him. Continuing to lift those specific needs before the Lord, while keeping healthy boundaries as a former tenant, lets you love him without carrying responsibility that belongs to God. If the weight of this stays heavy, sharing it with a trusted pastor for ongoing prayer support can help you as well.

Father, we thank You for Your love shown at the cross and for hearing us when we agree in Jesus name. We lift this man to You, ask You to draw him close, give him eyes to see Your love and wisdom to recognize what is harming him, and keep him safe. Soften his heart and lead him step by step on Your narrow path. Give our friend peace as he prays and help him to trust You with this life. In Jesus name, amen.
