Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join you together in the name of Jesus and we thank you for bringing this man before the Lord with such intercession and love. We agree with you that our Father hears us when we agree together in prayer and we praise Him for the cross where His holy Son Jesus suffered for all who believe.

We are encouraged by your heart to see this man delivered and restored to his true identity in Christ. Scripture reminds us For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11 and also For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts Isaiah 55:8-9. God does have a holy plan for his life and it is far greater than anything he has sought in his own desires.

We see clearly the burden you carry for him as he has strayed from the narrow path. Jesus said Enter in by the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate and restricted is the way that leads to life, few are those who find it Matthew 7:13-14. When a person adopts a false identity through sinful relationships or activities, he is walking on that broad way. We must speak the truth in love that any sexual relationship outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication or adultery, and any same sex relationship is homosexuality, and all are forbidden and immoral before God. Scripture calls us to Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We also are warned Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity, or what fellowship has light with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14. The controlling, blackmailing and hateful relationship you describe is not of God and is evidence of the bondage of sin and the influence of the enemy. To be set free he must repent, turn from evil, and be subject to God. The promise is Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.

We rejoice that in Christ there is deliverance and a new identity. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. He does not have to remain in that false identity. Jesus said You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. The truth of who he is in Christ will break every lie. We also cling to the promise that God can soften even the hardest heart, for He says I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. Only God can break a stony heart and give courage to walk the narrow way, and we pray He will do that for him. The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding Proverbs 9:10, so we pray he will come to fear the holy name of the Lord and depart from evil and from the evil influences in his household. We also pray for his protection, for The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles Psalm 34:17 and He is the one who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love Colossians 1:13.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy and for the blood of Jesus shed on the cross. Lord, we lift up this man to You, Your child whom You know by name. Lord, open his eyes to see the clear and unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ and expose the false identity he has taken on through sin. Father, break his stony heart and in Your mercy give him a new heart of flesh that is soft toward You and courageous to follow Your narrow path. Give him understanding to fear Your holy name and to depart from every evil way and from every sinful relationship, especially the ungodly and controlling influence of the woman in his life. Lord, separate him from all ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and place a hedge of protection around him where his life may be in danger. Deliver him from manipulation, blackmail and darkness, and translate him fully into the light of Your Son. Help him to hear Your voice concerning Your holy plan for his life and to walk in repentance, purity and obedience, seeking a life that honors You, and if it be Your will, a godly marriage that honors You as You designed marriage to be between a man and a woman for life. We ask that You make Your love real to him and set him free indeed. In the powerful and only saving name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We hear how much care you have carried for this man, and we join you in lifting him before the Lord. It is a tender thing to pray for someone you have known in a practical way, like a landlord, and still see him as a person God loves and wants to draw close.

What stood out to us in your prayer was your longing for him to know who he truly is in Christ. That kind of identity is not built on feelings or on the roles and relationships that have shaped him, but on being known and loved by God. When that foundation grows stronger, it becomes a steady reference point in turmoil, more stable than outward success or the approval of others. Part of that growth is also a renewing of the mind, learning to recognize distorted thoughts about himself and to see himself as God sees him, beloved and called to walk in wholeness.

We encourage you to keep bringing him to Jesus in prayer while trusting God with the outcome and with the timing. It also helps to keep healthy boundaries in your own role as a former tenant, not carrying alone what only God can do in his heart, and if you have a trusted pastor, sharing this burden with him for wisdom on how to pray and when to step back.

Father, we lift this man to You. Draw him to Yourself, soften his heart, open his eyes to Your love and truth, and lead him away from what harms him. Keep him safe, give him courage to choose what is good, and surround him with influences that point him toward You. Give our friend peace as he continues to pray and trust You. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in bringing this man before the throne of grace, and we thank God that you have come in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no other ransom by which any soul can be delivered from going down to the pit.

Your prayer is right to ask not only for outward separation from sin but for inward deliverance, for judgments apart from divine grace may produce a kind of repentance that is only skin deep, that springs from terror and withers in a night, and leaves the heart still hard. True repentance is not a mere turning away for a season and then returning with greater gusto, but a work of grace that goes to the heart, that makes a man look out of self to Christ and to Christ only, to rejoice in Jesus crucified, to trust in His one great sacrifice as the propitiation for sin. We pray that God will grant this man such repentance as needs not to be repented of, a repentance that is joined to faith, for faith means trust in Christ, and any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ must itself be repented of.

Scripture tells us, He has delivered us from the power of darkness. This reminds us that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. At first sin catches a soul as with the tiniest spider's cobweb that can scarcely be seen, yet soon the cords grow strong and the soul finds itself in bonds, in danger, controlled and in darkness. But when Christ was bound, His people were made free, and there is a word of grace that still goes forth, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is the blood of Christ, and when the eye of faith looks to what Christ has done, the prisoner is loosed.

Therefore we pray with you to our gracious God, that He would open this man's ears and seal his instruction, that He may withdraw him from his purpose and hide pride from him, that He would break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, that He would give him eyes to see his true identity only in Christ through repentance and faith, and to see the false identity he has taken up in following his own desires as empty and destructive. We ask the Lord to show him the sinfulness of every relationship and activity outside His holy design, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all intimacy belongs within it, and to give him courage to walk the narrow path. We ask that the Lord in His mercy would separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from the evil that entangles him, that He would make plain the controlling and hateful nature of those bonds and bring him out of danger into the light of Christ. We pray that God would teach him to fear His holy name, to depart from evil, and to find his liberty not in forms or resolutions but in looking to Christ and living.

We encourage you to continue in believing prayer, for like a careful dispenser the Lord deals out trial and mercy in weight and measure, not in anger but from His dear covenant love, and He scourges His children but does not slay them. He is able to make the prisoner free indeed, to raise up those who sit in darkness and to make them sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. May the Lord hear your united cry, and may this man look and live and leap in joyful liberty as he beholds sin punished upon the great Substitute and put away forever for all who will only trust Him. In Jesus' name we ask this, amen.
