Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for the cross and for the precious gift of His holy Son Jesus who suffered for all of us who believe, and we agree with you in the mighty name of Jesus that our God hears us when we agree together according to Matthew 18:19.

We are moved by your love and intercession for this man who once rented his flat to you. You have prayed so biblically for him, that he would hear the voice of the Lord and understand his true identity in Christ and the false identity he has taken on through sin. We affirm that when a person turns to Christ in repentance, he becomes a new creation, for 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Yet the enemy seeks to keep him bound in sinful relationships and activities that lead away from the narrow path that leads to life. We must gently but clearly say that any sexual relationship outside of marriage between a man and a woman is sin before God, whether it be fornication or adultery, and the Scripture warns us to flee it, for 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. And Proverbs 5:3-5 warns about the lips of an adulteress dripping honey and her ways leading down to death. We also hear your burden that he is controlled and blackmailed and that his life may even be in danger, and that there is an evil woman and other ungodly influences in his household. The Word tells us Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals, 1 Corinthians 15:33, and that we are to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness.

We bring him before the throne of grace now together.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear man to you. You know the plans you have for him, for Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Lord, open his eyes to see the unmistakable truth about who he is in Christ, and expose the lie of the false identity he adopted when he strayed from your narrow path to follow his own desires. We ask you to do what only you can do, to take away his stony heart and give him a heart of flesh as you promised in Ezekiel 36:26, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Soften his heart, break his pride, and give him courage to choose the narrow path even when it is hard. Father, we pray that you would separate him from every ungodly influence, including those in his own household, and from that evil relationship where he is being controlled and blackmailed. Rescue him from danger, set him free from every chain, for John 8:36 says If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. Teach him the fear of Yahweh, for Proverbs 9:10 says The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Grant him understanding to depart from evil and to turn from the evil woman in his life, to resist the devil and submit himself to you, for James 4:7 says Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Wash him in the blood of Jesus, and if he has not yet fully surrendered, draw him to true repentance, for 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Cover him with your protection, let him know the depth of your love, and lead him into holiness and into a life that honors you, and if it be your will for him to marry, lead him to a godly marriage that honors you. In Jesus powerful name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for him with steadfast prayer and fasting as the Lord leads, trusting that God desires all people to come to repentance and that the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, Romans 6:23. Keep speaking truth in love, keep interceding that the light of Christ would expose every dark and hateful tie that binds him, and trust that the Lord who began a good work will be faithful to complete it as this man responds to His voice.

We were moved by the compassion in your prayer for your former landlord. It is a loving thing to keep bringing someone before the Lord even after your renting relationship has ended, especially when you sense he is caught in confusion and harmful influences.

What you named about identity is so central. When a person loses sight of who he is in Christ, other voices and attachments can quickly fill that space and feel like identity. Part of healing is coming back to that steadier ground, where his worth is settled by God alone and he can learn to live before that one faithful audience rather than being pulled by fear, control, or the demands of others.

Since you are no longer in his household, the most caring way you can continue is steady prayer from a distance with good boundaries. You do not need to confront those around him or try to manage his situation yourself. If you have a trusted pastor, it may help to share your burden privately with him so you are not carrying this alone and can have wisdom for how to pray and when to step back.

Father, we lift this man to You in Jesus' name. You know him fully and love him. We ask You to protect him where there is danger or control, to quiet the voices that have misled him, and to make Your truth and love clear to him in a way he can understand. Soften his heart where it has grown hard, give him courage to turn from what harms him, and surround him with what is good and safe. Give our friend peace as he continues to pray, and guide his steps. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and we join with you in bringing this man before the throne of grace, trusting that God hears when His people agree together in the name of Jesus.

We praise God with you for the cross, where His holy Son suffered for sinners, and for the great truth that deliverance is found in Christ alone. There is no other name by which we must be saved, and there is no cleansing but by His blood. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses from all sin all who truly repent and believe in Him.

We pray with you that the Lord will be pleased to open this man's ears and to seal His instruction upon his heart, that He may withdraw him from his own purposes and hide pride from him. We ask that God would grant him not a superficial repentance which comes only from terror or distress and withers quickly, but a true repentance which gives glory to God, which comes from a sight of the love and grace of God in Christ. Such repentance is the gift of Christ, wrought in the heart by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth, and it is inseparable from faith. Repentance ejects sin as an evil tenant, and faith admits Christ to be the sole Master of the heart. One pulls down, the other builds up. We pray that he may be brought to look away from himself, from forms and feelings and works, and to look to Christ and to what Christ has done, trusting in His one great sacrifice. In that looking there is the word, Deliver him from going down to the pit.

We pray that God who has delivered His people from the power of darkness would deliver this man also from that power, from the fascinating power of sin and from the prince of the power of the air, and translate him fully into the kingdom of His dear Son. We ask that the Lord would break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, that He would give courage to walk in the narrow path which leads to life, and understanding to fear His holy name and to depart from evil.

We ask that the Lord would make clear to him his true identity in Christ, not an identity forged in sinful desires or in relationships that depart from God's holy design, but the identity of a new creation in Christ for all who repent and believe. God's good design for our earthly lives is plain in Scripture, that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the intimacies of sex and of living together belong within that covenant alone. Any way that falls short of this, whether in same sex relations or in relations outside marriage, is sin against a holy God and brings bondage rather than freedom. We pray that he would see this truth with unmistakable clarity, hate sin because it slew Christ, and turn from it to live as the holy God would have him live.

We join you in asking that the Lord would separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from every controlling and hateful entanglement where he may be manipulated or threatened or in danger. We pray for his protection, and far more for his soul, that he would be loosed from every infirmity and bond where Satan would keep him bowed down and unable to lift himself up. When Christ was bound, His people were made free, and we pray that this freedom would be known by him.

Continue to pray for him, to speak the truth in love, and to set before him Christ crucified and risen. Remind him that repentance and remission of sins go together in Christ's own words, and that to all who gladly receive His word there is full and free forgiveness. May the Lord give you steadfastness in intercession, and may He be pleased in His mercy to rescue this man to the praise of the glory of His grace, that he may yet say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. In Jesus' powerful and precious name we pray, amen.
