Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join with you in agreement for this man and thank God that you have brought him before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for we know that when we agree together He hears us. Matthew 18:19 reminds us that if two of us will agree on earth concerning anything that we will ask, it will be done for us by our Father who is in heaven, and we stand on that promise with you.

We praise God with you for the cross and for the blood of Jesus that makes deliverance and forgiveness possible, and we share your burden for this man who is beloved by God yet entangled in sin. We are encouraged by your discernment in praying for his true identity in Christ to be revealed. The Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. Any identity built on sinful relationships or activities, whether it be fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, is a false identity and an abomination before God. God created man and woman to bear His image and He ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and any sexual activity outside of that holy covenant is sin that must be repented of. 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us to flee sexual immorality and Romans 1:26-27 and Leviticus 18:22 make clear that same sex relations are forbidden and contrary to God's design. We must lovingly but firmly rebuke those sinful relationships and activities, not to condemn the man, but because God calls all to repentance that they may live.

We also hear your prayer for his stony heart to be broken and softened and we cling to the promise in Ezekiel 36:26 that God will take away the stony heart out of our flesh and give us a heart of flesh. Only God can do this work, and we pray that He will give this man courage to choose the narrow path. Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14 that narrow is the gate and restricted is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it, while broad is the way that leads to destruction. To fear the Lord and depart from evil is the beginning of wisdom. Proverbs 3:7 says do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil, and Proverbs 9:10 says the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.

We join you in praying that the Lord will separate him from every ungodly influence, including those in his household, for we know that evil companionships corrupt good morals as 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns, and that we are called in 2 Corinthians 6:17 to come out from among them and be separate. Where there is control, blackmail, manipulation and danger, we know the enemy seeks to steal and destroy, but Jesus came to set the captives free. John 8:36 declares if therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed, and Psalm 34:17 says the righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. We pray for his physical and spiritual protection and for God to expose every hateful and sinful entanglement for what it is, that he may see the depth of God's love compared to the emptiness and bondage of those relationships.

We lift him up now together.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we thank You for Your mercy and for the cross where Jesus suffered for all who believe. Lord, You know this man, You know the plans You have for him, plans for peace and not for evil, to give him hope and a future as Jeremiah 29:11 promises. We ask that You open his eyes to see his true identity in Christ and to renounce every false identity he has taken on through sin. Break his stony heart, Father, and give him a soft heart that hears Your voice and trembles at Your holy name. Grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance and give him courage to turn from every sinful relationship and from the evil influences that surround him, including the evil woman in his life who has brought control and danger. Deliver him from the snares of the devil, separate him from ungodly companions, and set his feet upon Your narrow path for Your glory. Teach him to fear You and to depart from evil, and let him experience the freedom and forgiveness that comes only through Jesus, for 1 John 1:9 assures us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We ask that You draw him to salvation if he has not truly surrendered, and restore him if he has wandered, that he might walk in holiness and if it is Your will, one day pursue a godly marriage that honors You. We trust You to complete the work You have begun and we ask all these things in the powerful and only saving name of Jesus, amen.

We were touched by the compassion in your prayer for this man. You see him as someone God loves and you have carried him before the Father with real care, asking for truth and freedom for him.

It is heavy to watch someone you have known seem stuck in patterns that harm him and to feel concerned for his safety while not being able to change things for him. We hear how much you want him to know who he is in Christ, to have a softened heart and the courage to walk a different path, and to be free from influences that control or threaten him.

Part of loving someone in this place is remembering that a steady identity is not built on relationships or desires, but on who God says we are, and that healthy boundaries help guard the heart. That can also mean recognizing what is ours to do in prayer and what is God's to do in his life, without taking on the role of rescuer.

A gentle next step is to keep bringing him to Jesus as you are doing, and if you have any appropriate contact, to simply remain a calm, respectful presence. If he ever indicates he wants help or is open to support, you could point him toward a trusted pastor or safe community resource, without pressing.

Father, we thank You for Your love for this man and for the one praying for him. Draw him close to You, show him Your truth and kindness, and give him eyes to see and courage to turn from what harms him. Protect him from danger and from controlling influences, and give him wisdom for each next step. Give peace and steady hope to our friend as he continues to pray and trust You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been brought before the Lord with thanksgiving for the cross where the holy Son of God suffered as the Substitute for all who believe, and we join you in asking in the name of Jesus who alone is the way of salvation.

We pray for this man of whom you speak, that the Lord in His mercy would grant him not a superficial repentance which springs only from terror and withers in a night, but that true repentance which is the fruit of Divine Grace and gives glory to God. Such repentance is inseparable from faith, for the one ejects sin as an evil tenant and the other admits Christ to be the sole Master of the heart. We ask that God would open his ears and seal instruction to him, that He would withdraw him from his own purpose and hide pride from him, and break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh.

We pray that he may look away from himself, from false identities and from sinful relationships which are outside the narrow path, and look unto Christ and be saved, trusting only in His one great sacrifice. For there is no other name by which we must be saved, and the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses from all sin all who truly repent and believe in Him. May he come to hate sin because it slew Christ, and to turn from it to live as the holy God would have him live.

We ask the Lord who is able to deliver from going down to the Pit, to deliver him from the power of darkness. Satan is the prince of that power, and sin first darkens the mind and then emboldens it, but Christ has loosed the bound and set the captive free. We pray that this man may be brought out of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear Son, that he may have understanding to fear the holy name of the Lord and to depart from evil, and that he may be separated from ungodly influences that would control or ensnare him. We pray that he would see the depth of the love of God in Christ and also see clearly the sinfulness of every way that departs from God's good design, for marriage is ordained by God as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy outside it is sin before Him.

We pray also for his safety, for the Lord knows if his life is in danger, and we ask for protection, yet most of all we ask for the rescue of his soul to the praise of the glory of His grace. May he be given courage to follow the narrow path, not by his own strength but by looking to his heavenly Father altogether and alone for sanctification and deliverance.

We will continue to pray with you that God would work true belief and true repentance in him by His Holy Spirit through the truth of His Word, that repentance and remission of sins may be his in Christ, and that he may live and declare the works of the Lord. In Jesus' powerful name, amen.
