Beloved of All
Your prayer for this man has been heard and I join with you in bringing him before the Lord who alone saves and restores.
We thank God that He has provided deliverance from evil and the supply of every good through His Son. By the cross we are not only forgiven but are given sonship, for those who put on Christ and receive His Spirit are adopted as sons and made heirs of the promise given to Abraham. This is the true identity offered to every person, not one forged by following our own desires, but one received by faith and repentance. Pray that he may rest his hope not in any carnal relationship or past way of life, but in Christ alone.
There is great hope for him, for repentance has great power when it is joined to godly sorrow. Scripture shows that even Manasses, who had filled his life with many pollutions and abominations, washed away all those sins through repentance and earnest consideration. Godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation without regret, and it brings help from the Spirit and from prayer. To sin does not destroy so much as to despair, for the one who has fallen, if he is watchful, can quickly be amended through repentance, and Christ can be formed in him again even if he has come to the depth of wickedness.
Therefore let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son who suffered for us, we ask for mercy upon this man. Open his eyes to see the truth of who he is in Christ and to recognize the false identity he has taken on in straying from Your narrow path. Break his stony heart and soften it, give him courage to turn from evil and to fear Your holy name. Separate him from every ungodly influence, especially those in his household who control and harm him, and bring him out of every relationship that endangers his soul and his life. Grant him understanding to depart from sin and to walk in continence and holiness according to Your design, where marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all sexual union belongs within it. Keep him from despair and lead him to genuine repentance that brings full deliverance.
Continue to intercede for him with patience and love, trusting not in delay as mere comfort but using it to seek his complete amendment. The Lord hears the prayers of those who agree in Jesus name and He is able to accomplish what we cannot. May God grant you steadfastness as you pray and may He grant this man the grace to hear His voice and follow Him. Amen.
