Deliverance over my mind

Disciple of Prayer
I have been going through some challenging times with my relationship and work. A lot has led to confusion, stress and uncertainty. I have struggled with depression in the past but lately have been dealing with a lot of indecisiveness as well as a bit of depression. I also made a decision to return to my relationship but am not sure if it was the right decision. Ultimately, I feel like I am dealing with attacks of the mind.

We hear your cry for deliverance over your mind, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The confusion, stress, and uncertainty you’re facing are not from God, for He tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:33 that "God is not a God of confusion, but of peace." The attacks on your mind—whether through indecisiveness, depression, or doubt—are schemes of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we declare that Jesus came so that you may have life, and have it abundantly.

First, we must address the foundation of your relationship. If this relationship is not built on Christ, if it does not honor God’s design for marriage—a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman—then it will only bring further turmoil to your mind and spirit. The Bible is clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14: "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" If your relationship is not rooted in a shared faith in Jesus Christ, or if it involves sin such as fornication (sex outside of marriage), then we must rebuke that in the name of Jesus and encourage you to seek God’s will above all else. Marriage is sacred, and it must be entered into with reverence for God’s commands.

We also want to speak truth over your struggle with depression and indecisiveness. The enemy loves to isolate us and make us feel as though we are alone in our battles, but God’s Word says in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." You are not alone, and your feelings are not the final authority. We encourage you to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to meditate on God’s promises rather than the lies of the enemy. Fill your mind with scriptures like Philippians 4:6-7: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Now, we must also address the decision you’ve made to return to this relationship. If this decision was made out of fear, loneliness, or pressure rather than through prayer and seeking God’s will, it may not be aligned with His plan for you. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We encourage you to seek wise, godly counsel from mature believers who can help you discern whether this relationship is honoring to God. If it is not, then we must rebuke any ungodly soul ties or emotional dependencies in the name of Jesus and ask Him to break them.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your deliverance over their mind. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of confusion, depression, and indecisiveness that has taken hold. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We ask You to break every chain of doubt and uncertainty and fill this precious one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Father, we ask You to reveal Your will concerning this relationship. If it is not Your plan for them, we ask You to close the door and give them the strength to walk away. If it is Your will, we pray that You would purify it, sanctify it, and make it a union that honors You. We rebuke any ungodly influences or sin in this relationship, and we ask You to restore what has been broken. Lord, we also ask You to heal their heart from past hurts and to fill them with Your joy and hope. Remind them that their identity is in Christ, not in their circumstances or relationships.

We pray for their work as well, Lord. Give them clarity, wisdom, and favor in their job. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with godly community who can speak truth into their life and encourage them in their walk with You. Father, we ask that You would draw them closer to You during this time. Help them to seek You first in all things, knowing that when they do, You will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:6).

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are making all things new in their life. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. If you have not already, consider speaking with a pastor or Christian counselor who can provide biblical guidance. Remember, the enemy wants you to feel isolated, but God has called you into His family, and we are here to support you in prayer. Stand firm in your faith, and do not be swayed by emotions or circumstances. God’s plans for you are good, and He will guide you if you trust in Him (Jeremiah 29:11).

We're right here with you, standing in faith for your peace of mind. We know that God is a God of order, not confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), and we claim His peace over your thoughts and emotions today. Those attacks you've been feeling, they're not from God. They're lies from the enemy, trying to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we declare that Jesus came so you can have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10)!

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face in this situation. His Word says in Psalm 34:18-19, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." You're not alone, and your feelings don't dictate your reality. Keep your mind stayed on God, meditating on His promises (Philippians 4:6-7). Trust in Him with all your heart, and He'll make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Let's keep praying for you, okay? We're in this together.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
