Deliverance From Evil

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please join us in prayer that a drug dealer who has moved his operation into our apt complex will be forced to move out. Our manager and apt owner are turning a deaf ear to our pleas and the fear and dread we face every day is tremendous!!!

Thank you and God bless you!!

We stand with you in deep concern and spiritual warfare as you face this troubling situation in your apartment complex. The presence of drug activity is not only illegal but also brings spiritual darkness and fear into your home, something that grieves the heart of God. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 5:11, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them." It is clear that evil must be confronted, not ignored, and we must not grow weary in doing what is right, even when others turn a blind eye.

We rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken hold in your hearts, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." The enemy seeks to intimidate and paralyze, but we serve a God who is greater than any force of darkness. We also rebuke the complacency and inaction of your manager and apartment owner, for Proverbs 24:11-12 commands us, "Rescue those who are being led away to death! Hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter! If you say, 'Behold, we didn’t know this;' doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?" They will be held accountable for their neglect if they do not act.

Let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to the Father and the power to overcome evil:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the righteous Judge, and we ask that You intervene in this apartment complex. Expose the drug dealer’s operations, confound his plans, and bring his activities to light. Let the authorities take notice, and let justice prevail. We pray that the manager and owner would no longer turn a deaf ear but would act with integrity and urgency to remove this evil from their property. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has gripped the residents, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear. Fill this place with Your peace, protection, and presence. Surround the innocent with Your angels, and let Your light drive out every shadow of darkness. We ask that You soften the hearts of those involved in this sin, that they may repent and turn to You. Break the chains of addiction and deception, Lord, and let Your mercy triumph over judgment. We trust in Your power to deliver and restore. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue standing firm in faith, even when the situation seems hopeless. Pray without ceasing, and consider organizing as a community to demand action from those in authority. Document everything, dates, times, and incidents, and report them to local law enforcement. Proverbs 28:4 reminds us, "Those who forsake the law praise the wicked; but those who keep the law contend with them." Do not be silent; contend for what is right.

If you have not already, we also urge you to seek the Lord for your own safety and protection. Psalm 91 is a powerful declaration of God’s covering over His children: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"

Finally, we want to gently remind you that our prayers and actions must always be rooted in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or delivered (Acts 4:12). If you or anyone in your community does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we invite you to turn to Him today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is the first and greatest deliverance we all need.

Stand strong, dear brothers and sisters. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He will fight for you. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season, you will reap if you faint not (Galatians 6:9).

We are praying with you. Living next door to an active drug operation brings a kind of daily, grinding dread that wears you down, and we hear that burden in your words. It makes sense to feel afraid. The Baker Encyclopedia entry on fear reminds us that fear narrows our thinking and makes us want to withdraw, which is exactly what this kind of situation does: it steals the peace of your own home. Just naming that is important.

While we join you in asking God to move this man out, we also want you to stay safe right now. A trusted resource on crisis care (Crisis Counseling, Third Edition) offers some wise cautions for situations like this: if you sense any danger, do not go anywhere near the dealer alone; never enter his home or confront him directly. If you observe illegal activity, report it to the police, they are trained to handle volatile situations. Let them be the front line. It is not a failure to call for help; it is simply loving your neighbors well.

In the meantime, lean on any fellow residents who share your concern. Can a few of you quietly support one another with check-ins or a group text thread for reporting suspicious behavior? And if your church has a pastor or a small group, let them know what you are facing so they can offer practical support and steady prayer alongside you.

Father, we lift up this family and their apartment community right now. You see the fear they feel every time they walk to their car or lie down at night. Please guard their bodies and their hearts. Give them wisdom to take wise, safe steps, and grant local authorities the insight and responsiveness to address what is happening. We ask for a swift and just resolution, that this operation would be shut down and that peace would return to their home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The trial you now endure is not outside the sacred zone of Providential government. Though the manager and owner turn a deaf ear, your God has not. He permits this dread for a time, that you might flee to Him who alone delivers from the power of darkness. The drug dealer is but an instrument; the Enemy of your souls would use this fear to drag you down to despair. But remember, if this evil comes not apart from Divine permission, then even this grievous affliction lies within the fence of Omnipotent overruling. The Lord has chastened you sorely, yet He has not given you over to death, nor erased your name from His heart. He has delivered you from the guilt of sin; will He not also deliver you from this daily terror?

Cry to Him who has found a ransom, who has delivered you from going down to the Pit. He who broke the bands of your old sins can snap the chains of this present fear. You need not look to man, for God has taught us that deliverance from the power of sin and from every earthly snare is as much His work as the pardon of our iniquities. Wait on Him in prayer, and let your conduct be that of those who declare, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Do not let the dread drive you to hide your testimony; rather, let this push you closer to Jesus, for away from Him there is no joy, no safety.

The Prince of Darkness has power over the hearts of the wicked, but greater is He that is in you. If the Lord brought Israel out of the iron furnace with a high hand, He can make even this dealer of death to move from your midst. It may be by a sharp word from authority, or by a sudden fear upon him, or by the quiet working of Providence. Trust in the Lord and cease from your own fretting. Your part is to pray without ceasing, to walk in the Spirit, and to keep far from all complicity with darkness. Show your neighbors what it is to have a life hidden with Christ, free from the mastery of fear.

Recall the days of Deborah: the noise of archers ceased when God arose. So too, the noise of this trafficker in sorrow will cease, and you shall have peace within your borders. But even if the trial tarries, your Lord has not forsaken them that fear Him. He will be gracious unto you; He has said, “Deliver him from going down to the Pit.” This promise is for you. Lay hold of it, and let your soul be calm. Fear not the face of man; the Lamb is your Shepherd, and He will lead you through this dark valley. Keep your garments unspotted from the world, and soon, whether by removal of the wicked or by a strengthening of your own heart, you shall stand and recount the deliverance, to the praise of the glory of His grace.

You have cried out for deliverance from evil, and your fear and dread are tremendous, as you say. I hear this, and I would not diminish the weight of your daily alarm. Yet consider this: often when we look to be delivered, our fear only heightens. God instructs us not hastily to seek relief from pressing dangers, but to bear all occurrences manfully.

The very things by which we are hurt, by these same we are benefited. Think of Joseph. His mistress seemed to contrive his ruin, but her machinations placed him in safety. The prison was gentle compared to that den of lust.

She made his master his foe, but she made God his friend. So with you: this dealer and the deafness of those in authority may seem to trap you in a net of fear, but God is ordering a greater good. The Lord delivered His own from the lion’s mouth, and He will deliver you, not by simply removing a danger, but from every evil work. To be kept from sin, to resist unto blood striving against it, is deliverance from a fiercer lion, the devil.

This preservation is greater than when we seem to be given over. The apostle had no relief, a door being opened, yet he gloried in persecution, a sweet savor to some for life, others for death. Do not let this trial press you into revengeful thoughts, for the ways of revengeful men are unto death. Your true foe is irreconcilable, but that man, whatever he does, is still a brother for whom Christ died.

You have been commanded to pray, "Deliver us from the evil one." Labor then in this fear. Do not let dread produce idle terror but earnest action, learning the fear of the Lord. Christ’s incarnation was to deliver from evil and supply good, promoting us from the curse to sonship. Stand in that liberty, free from frantic anxiety about external threats, for if we are with Him, we are in safety.

Pray not merely for the dealer’s removal, but that you may be established in thorough security of soul, and that even this situation might become a savor of life to you and to others. God’s ways are not ours; trust His ordering.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
