Deliver them

We hear your cry for deliverance, and we join with you in lifting this burden before the throne of grace. The Scriptures declare, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower" (Psalm 18:2 WEB). In times of spiritual warfare, when lies and evil seek to ensnare, we stand firm in the truth that Jesus Christ has already overcome the world (John 16:33).

We rebuke every lying spirit and every work of darkness that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. The enemy comes only to devour, but the Lord has given us authority in His name to trample over serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We command every chain of deception, fear, and bondage to break now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. "He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18 WEB).

Father, we ask You to surround this dear one with Your holy angels. Let Your light expose every hidden work of darkness, and let Your truth dismantle every lie that has taken root. We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the freedom Christ purchased on the cross. "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We also lift up any areas where sin may have given the enemy a foothold. If there has been unrepentance, bitterness, or compromise, we ask for conviction and a heart turned fully toward You. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). Let Your mercy and grace lead to repentance and restoration.

Lord Jesus, we thank You that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). There is no deliverance outside of You. We declare that this one belongs to You, and we plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their mind, their home, and their future. May they walk in the victory that is already theirs through Your resurrection power.

We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

We are grateful you brought this loved one to us, because we can feel the weight you are carrying. When someone we care about is tangled in lies and under spiritual pressure, it can be lonely to carry that prayer burden alone. So right now, we want you to know we are standing with you, lifting them up together.

Even when you can’t see change, your prayers are not empty words. God is at work in ways that often remain hidden for a season. One thing that has encouraged many of us is simply the knowledge that others are praying, not as a vague good wish, but as a steady, behind‑the‑scenes defense. You are already giving that gift to the person you love.

A concrete step that might strengthen your prayers is to find one or two trusted, mature believers and quietly ask, “Will you join me in praying for someone I love? I can’t share details, but I need agreement before the Lord.” This kind of shared, specific prayer, free of gossip, often brings a surprising peace and a sense that you are not laboring alone.

As you continue, remember that Jesus himself is the truth and the deliverer; he doesn’t need dramatic display to set someone free. Your steady intercession is part of his work, even when it feels small.

So let us pray for them now:

Lord Jesus, you are stronger than any lie and greater than every evil. We bring this person before you, trusting that you know them fully and love them completely. Set them free from the deceptions that entangle them, and give them clarity of mind and a tender heart toward your truth. Surround them with your protection, and guide them to people who will speak life. Comfort our friend who prays, and fill them with your own peace, the confidence that you are at work. We ask this in your mighty name, Amen.

You have cried out for deliverance from evil and from the lies that swarm about you. Your plea is short, but it rises to the ear of the Lord of Hosts. And I want you to know this: the Blessed One who hears you is not slow to answer. He has already met the full fury of evil upon the cross, and every lying tongue was silenced when He rose from the grave. The enemy of your soul is a defeated prince; his whispers have no authority over the blood-bought child of God.

That old serpent has one arrow in his quiver that he reaches for again and again, it is the dark suggestion that God has forsaken you, that you are beyond the reach of mercy, that the evil is too great and the lies too strong. But when that thought comes whizzing toward you, hold up the shield of faith. Jesus has engraved your name on the palms of His hands; He cannot forget you. Has He not said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”? Those are not pretty words for a hymnbook; they are the unbreakable promise of the living God. The lies may hiss, but they cannot overturn the truth of Christ.

I would have you picture your soul as a traveler in a weary wilderness, and the enemy’s archers have set themselves at the wells to keep you from drinking. But the Lord your God clears the wells; He rolls away the stones of fear and sends the archers fleeing. Now, the Book of His promises is open before you, a well of living water. Take a long draft from it. Here is a promise to steady you: “He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.” Even now, you are not in the grip of evil; you are in the grip of the Good Shepherd, and none can pluck you from His hand.

So do not let unbelief give tongue to despair. That would be to let a hound of hell bark louder than the lion of the tribe of Judah. Instead, let a believing heart speak out: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” The evil you see and the falsehoods you hear will not have the last word; Jesus will have the last word. He is even now turning what was meant for harm into your enrichment, and when He brings you through, you will find that not one feeble thing remains among the graces He has bestowed upon you.

Let us bow our hearts together.

Faithful High Priest, You were tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin. You know the sting of false accusation and the weight of the oppressor’s power. Look now upon this dear soul who has called upon Your name. Rebuke the devourer for their sake. Send Your truth to silence every lie, and let the peace that passes understanding garrison their heart and mind. We lean our whole weight upon You, Lord Jesus, our Deliverer and shield. It is in Your mighty name we pray. Amen.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this urgent cry of your heart—"Deliver them from all evil and all their lies, Jesus, please." It has been heavy on our spirits, and we have not stopped lifting this burden before the throne of grace. Every day we have asked the Lord to break every chain, expose every deception, and surround your loved one with His holy angels.

If the Lord has already moved in power—if truth has pierced the darkness and chains have fallen—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. There is nothing that stirs our faith like seeing God’s deliverance firsthand. But if the battle still rages, we want you to know we are still standing with you. Please post this request again so we can continue to intercede, believing that God is working even when we cannot yet see His hand.

May the Father of mercies strengthen you with fresh hope as you press into Him. May His peace guard your heart, and may His light scatter every shadow of fear. We will keep praying, trusting that Jesus hears and answers the cries of His children. In Jesus’ mighty and precious name. Amen.
