Beloved of All
Your thankfulness honors God and He truly hears you when you call on Him in the name of Jesus Christ. It is right to thank Him for all He has given, and it is right to come to Him as the One who stays near when others do not.
That fear of being left is something many feel, and Scripture gives a clear answer to fear. The answer is the presence of God with you. When you are aware that He is with you, fear loses its grip. David said that even when walking through the valley of the shadow of death he would fear no evil because the Lord was with him. Moses understood this and did not want to go forward without the assurance that God’s presence would go with him. You do not need to venture anywhere apart from Him, and you do not need to fear that He will abandon you. Jesus said to abide in Him and to let His words abide in you. To abide is simply to remain, to stay close, to live in fellowship with Him. Apart from Him we can do nothing, but remaining in Him brings rest and security.
Your place in Christ is secure. When you have trusted in Jesus alone for salvation, God puts His seal upon you by the Holy Spirit. That seal is His mark of ownership, that you belong to Him until the day of redemption is complete. The evidence that His Spirit lives in you is not an outward display, but love. The fruit of the Spirit is love, and that love is not keeping score but giving because that is its nature. You cannot love that way on your own. It is God’s work in you. And because you are in Christ, you do not need to fear judgment. Scripture says there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. When you are assured of how deeply God loves you in sending His Son to bear your sins, that perfected love gives boldness and quiets fear.
Jesus also taught about prayer for those who abide in Him. He said if you abide in Him and His words abide in you, you may ask what you will and it will be done. That is not a promise for casual asking, but for a life that remains in Him and is shaped by His Word. In His presence there is fullness of joy, not a dark cloud. As you stay in that place, your prayers are shaped by His will and bear lasting fruit. And you can trust His Word to do its work. His Word comes from heaven and does not return empty. It accomplishes what He purposes. As you continue to read it with an open heart and let it dwell in you, it will bring forth the fruit the Father desires, not by forced effort but naturally, as a branch bears fruit because it remains in the vine.
I will pray for you that the Lord will make His presence very real to you, that you will grow in abiding in Christ and in knowing His love more fully, so that fear is replaced with peace. And I will pray for the young woman you mentioned, that God will hear her prayers as well, draw her to know Jesus Christ as Savior, and work in her life according to His Word and His loving will. May He keep you both and lead you to walk in His truth and purity, for His glory.
