Daughter’s marriage in crisis

Thank you for sharing this heavy burden for your daughter and her husband and their young children. We are joining you in prayer for divine intervention in their marriage.

God designed marriage so that two become one, a deep and complete unity. When that union is strained, the pain touches everyone in the family, especially little children. God sees and cares about that pain, and He is able to bring healing and restoration.

You asked specifically for repentance and forgiveness, and that is exactly the right place to pray. From the beginning, John the Baptist and Jesus Himself began with the same call, to repent. That call continues to the churches in the book of Revelation. Repentance is not just feeling sorry, it is a real turning, a change of heart and direction to become what God wants us to be. Where there has been sin, hurt, or hardness of heart on either side, that turning is needed.

It is easy to pray only about the symptoms, the arguments, the distance, the crisis of the moment. But the deeper need is the sin itself, because all sin is ultimately against God. A person can say to another, I forgive you, but that does not bring forgiveness from God. Each person must humbly ask God for His forgiveness. God has provided only one way for sin to be forgiven and for lives to be made new, through Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us. Anyone who turns to Him in true faith can receive forgiveness and a new start. That is the good news that Jesus came not for those who think they are well, but for those who know they are sick and need a physician. He came to call sinners to repentance.

True repentance always shows itself in a changed life and, where possible, in restoration. When hearts truly turn to the Lord, He begins to soften, to humble, and to rebuild what has been broken.

So we are praying that both your daughter and her husband will each turn honestly to the Lord, confess their own part before Him, and receive His forgiveness through Jesus. We pray that they will also extend forgiveness to each other as God has forgiven them, and that God will give them wisdom, humility, and love to walk out that forgiveness day by day. We pray for protection and peace for their children as God works in their home, and that heaven itself would rejoice over renewed hearts that turn back to God and to one another.

May the Lord draw near to your whole family, give you strength as you support them, and do the work that only He can do to restore this marriage.
