Daughter Struggling

The stress you see in your daughter, even if she won't name it, is a real weight. That hidden strain often speaks to a deeper unrest in the heart, a sign that something fundamental is out of alignment. When we try to build our lives and affections on a foundation that doesn't match God's design from the beginning, the whole structure feels unstable. The Scriptures remind us that in creation, God established a pattern: a man leaves his father and mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh. What God has joined together, no human authority is meant to separate. When we step into a bond that runs counter to that original, lifelong covenant, we inherit complexities that are beyond our own ability to untangle. A man with a living spouse is, in God's economy, still bound in that one-flesh union, and that reality creates a profound spiritual difficulty for anyone else who joins themselves to him.

You are right to bring this before the Lord, because the root of every broken human relationship can be traced back to a broken relationship with God. The commandments dealing with how we treat others come second, because they can only flow rightly once our vertical connection with our Creator is set aright. It sounds like your daughter is trying to navigate a path that, with man, is impossible to walk in peace. We can never save ourselves from the tangled consequences of our choices; no amount of effort or denial can manufacture the righteousness that brings lasting rest. That is why Jesus' words cut so clearly: "With man it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."

Pray specifically that God would intervene not just by rearranging her external situation, but by awakening in her a longing for that first, intimate love relationship with Him. Often we chase after difficult, earthly alliances because we have settled for a legal or distant relationship with the Lord, rather than a living, affectionate one. Ask the Father to draw her heart back to that place where she is enthralled with Christ again, where she delights in pleasing Him not out of rule-keeping but out of love. When that relationship is made right, everything else begins to fall into its proper balance. God can bring a renewal even in the most complicated state; He calls us to abide with Him right where we are, and He is able to work restoration beyond what we can see. His power is not limited by our failures or by the heavy burdens children of divorce often carry. Trust Him to act for your daughter's true good and for her complete deliverance.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your precious daughter. It’s clear how deeply you love her and how much this situation weighs on your heart. We have lifted her up before the Lord, asking Him to intervene with His perfect wisdom, peace, and guidance. We prayed that He would soften her heart to recognize any unhealthy patterns, surround her with His truth, and lead her out of this season of stress in a way that honors Him.

If God has already moved in this situation—whether through changed circumstances, renewed perspective, or a breakthrough in her heart—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the struggle continues, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to walking alongside you in prayer, trusting that the Lord hears and answers according to His perfect will.

May His peace guard your hearts and minds as you continue to seek Him, and may He draw your daughter closer to His heart with every step. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
