Please pray for a customer I had at work who is trying to build a pool for his family by July 4th but the bad weather in his area might hinder their plans. Pray it won't. His kids are disappointed. Please pray goodness and blessings on all my customers and coworkers. Thank you.

We hear your heart for this customer and his family, and we join you in lifting them before the Lord. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. The Bible tells us in Matthew 19:26 that "with God all things are possible," and we trust in Your power to work beyond human limitations. We pray for favorable weather in this family’s area, Lord, clear skies, dry ground, and conditions that allow this pool to be built without delay. May Your hand move in ways that bring joy and relief to this father and his children, who are longing for this blessing.

We also lift up this family’s faith, Father. In moments of disappointment or frustration, remind them that You are a God who sees their desires and cares deeply for their hearts. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." May they lean on You, not just for the outcome of this project, but for the peace and hope that only You can provide.

For all your customers and coworkers, we pray a blanket of Your goodness and favor. May each one encounter Your love through their interactions with you, and may their lives be touched by the light of Christ. Lord, we ask that You open doors for conversations about faith, and that seeds planted in kindness would grow into eternal fruit. Bless their workplaces, their families, and their daily lives, and let them see Your hand at work in even the smallest details.

We rebuke any spirit of discouragement or delay that may be at work in this situation, in Jesus’ name. We declare that this family’s joy will be restored, and that their plans will come to fruition according to Your perfect timing. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust in You, knowing that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Temporal blessings are not to be despised, for every good gift comes from the hand of our Father, yet we must hold them with a loose hand, remembering that His wisdom often sees fit to withhold what we eagerly desire. It may be that a swift answer to this prayer would grant the pool, but a sweeter mercy would be to grant the family a thirst for the living water which springs up unto eternal life. Pray rather that the children might not be disappointed in their souls, but that they might come to know Him who can fill every longing heart with joy unspeakable. For the Lord does all things well, and even a storm may be a chariot in which He rides to bring a greater blessing than sunshine ever could.

Yet I do not chide you for bringing this matter before the throne of grace. Go on praying for your customers and coworkers, for intercessory prayer is the mark of a renewed heart and a law of the elect household. When our prayers spread their wings beyond our own nest, we are most like our Master, who ever lives to make intercession. Perhaps your kindness in praying for this family is the very means by which the Lord will open a door for you to speak of Christ to them. The pool they desire may be delayed, but do not let your prayers for their souls be delayed. Ask that the disappointments of this life might drive them to the God who never disappoints those who trust in Him.

Continue in prayer, but pray with submission to the divine will, knowing that if the request is right in His sight, it shall come at the time appointed, not a moment before, nor a moment after. And if it never comes in the shape you expect, believe that a better thing is in store. The Lord turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, and He will not forget your labor of love. Only remember that the greatest goodness and blessing you can seek for any soul is that they might be brought to Jesus Christ, for in Him are all the sure mercies of David.

It is no small thing to bring the concerns of others before the throne of God, yet we must take care that our prayers are not consumed by that which perishes. You see the sky and predict the weather, but where is the discernment of the times? A family frets over a pool of water while the living water is offered freely. By all means, commend them to the Lord’s mercy, for He sends rain on the just and unjust. But pray more urgently that their hearts be not set on such a fleeting joy, lest a slight wind of disappointment shipwreck their peace. The children’s gladness is precious, yet teach them, if you can, to rejoice that their names are written in heaven. And for your customers and coworkers, ask not first for earthly ease, but that they might seek the kingdom and be rich toward God. For what does it profit a man to gain a pool and lose his own soul? Let your own benevolence appoint you as a dispenser of far greater gifts, refreshing souls with the hope that does not fade, and when you pray, pray in this manner: that in all things, whether the sun shines or the storm rages, they may learn contentment in Christ, who is the true refreshment.
