We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you face this challenging COPD flare. We know how frightening it can be when your breathing is compromised, and we stand with you in faith, trusting that God hears our cries and is your ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Heavenly Father, we ask You to intervene in this situation with the medications. We pray that the confusion with the prescriptions would be resolved swiftly and that all the medications your doctor intended—including the prednisone and rescue inhaler—would be made available to you without delay. Give wisdom to the pharmacy staff and clarity to those involved in your care. Lord, we declare that no obstacle will stand in the way of you receiving the treatment you need. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your provision (Philippians 4:19).
We also pray for your healing, Father. You tell us in Jeremiah 30:17 that You will restore health and heal wounds. We ask that You touch this dear one’s lungs, reduce the inflammation, and restore their breathing to what is normal for them. Strengthen their body, ease their anxiety, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that even in weakness, Your power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9), and that You are holding them close.
Lord, we also lift up any fear or discouragement they may be feeling. COPD can be a heavy burden, but You promise in Isaiah 41:10 that You will strengthen and help us, that You will uphold us with Your righteous right hand. Help them to lean on You, to cast their cares upon You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with Your presence, and let them feel Your comfort in this trial.
We rebuke any spirit of fear in Jesus’ name, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this flare will pass, that healing is coming, and that You will use this time to draw them closer to You. May they find rest in Your promises and hope in Your unfailing love.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved or healed (Acts 4:12). We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ. Amen.
