We join you in lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for coming to Him in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.
We know how difficult it is to watch your child struggle for breath, especially in the heat, and how heavy the burden of chronic illness like COPD and asthma can feel. We are reminded that our God is the very giver of breath, and that He cares deeply for your son. Job 33:4 says The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. And Psalm 34:18 reminds us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
We take comfort in knowing that healing is part of His character and His promise. Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And He declares in Exodus 15:26 I am Yahweh who heals you. Jeremiah 30:17 gives us this assurance, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also cling to Isaiah 40:29 which says He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might, and we pray that strength over your son's body and his immune system.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this precious son to You. Lord, You formed his lungs and You number his breaths, and nothing about his condition is hidden from You. We ask for Your healing touch upon his lungs and airways. Please remove all inflammation, cleanse every infection, and clear every obstruction that makes breathing difficult. We ask that You would open his airways, ease his breathing even in this heat, and restore full and easy breath to him. Strengthen his immune system, Father, that it may fight off all illness and viruses according to Your design. We pray for wisdom for his doctors and for those caring for him, and for peace and rest for him and for his family. Let Your healing power be made manifest in his body for Your glory, that he may breathe freely and live abundantly in You. We thank You, Father, for all You do for us and for Your unfailing love and mercy. We trust this need into Your hands and pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Healer, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust Him and to walk in faithful stewardship of the medical help He has provided, while believing for His healing. James 5:15 says and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Keep bringing your son before the Lord daily, giving thanks even as you wait, and resting in the peace that passes understanding as you cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. We are standing with you in prayer for complete healing, strengthened immunity, and easy breathing.
