confidence

We join with you in praying for boldness and confidence, and we thank you for sharing this desire with us. True godly confidence does not come from our own strength or personality, but from knowing who we are in Christ and that God is with us and for us. It is not pride or self promotion, but a quiet assurance that the Lord will equip us for all He has called us to do.

The Scripture reminds us where this boldness comes from. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1. In him we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. Ephesians 3:12. And we are encouraged, Haven't I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9. When the early believers prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31.

We want to gently point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We bring this up in love because it is only through Jesus that we have confidence to approach the throne of God. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for then you have full access to the Father and the Holy Spirit to strengthen you.

We encourage you to grow in this boldness daily by staying rooted in the Word, by prayer, and by stepping out in obedience even when you feel afraid, trusting that I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13. Confidence grows as we remember that God is faithful and His promises are true, and as we fix our eyes on Christ rather than on our own ability.

We pray together for you now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one who desires boldness and confidence. Lord, fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit and replace any spirit of fear, doubt, or timidity with power, love, and self-control. Help them to see themselves as You see them, forgiven, loved, and called for a purpose. Grant them courage to speak Your truth with love, to walk in obedience, and to trust You in every situation. Let them draw near with boldness to Your throne of grace and find strength for each day. Build their confidence not in the flesh, but in Christ who lives in them. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We appreciate you sharing this short, sincere request for boldness and confidence. It matters to God that you want to live with courage rather than shrinking back.

We have found that real confidence rarely starts as a feeling. It grows as we remember who we are in Christ and who we are living before. When our sense of worth is tied to how we perform or how others respond, confidence rises and falls quickly. When it is rooted in belonging to Christ, it becomes steadier, even on days we still feel nervous. Courage then is less about trying to feel brave and more about quietly doing what is right and kind in the moment before us, trusting God with the outcome.

One small step that often helps is to choose one everyday situation this week where you would normally stay quiet or step back, and take one clear, kind action instead, speaking up, offering to pray, starting the conversation, or following through on something you have been putting off. Doing the next right thing, even in a small way, trains confidence over time.

Father, thank You for hearing this desire for boldness. We ask You to steady our friend in Your love, to remind them they are Yours, and to give them quiet courage for each step You place before them. Grow their confidence in You day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for boldness and confidence is a right and scriptural desire, and we join you in bringing it before the Throne of Grace.

The Scripture gives us a gracious invitation and a holy command in one verse, Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. We are not to come with timid doubt as if uncertain of welcome, but with utmost confidence, for we come to a King who invites us to pray, who has given us His Son as our great High Priest, and who has given us His Spirit to teach us how to pray. Boldness does not mean presumption in our own strength, but hopeful confidence that God hears and answers prayer through Jesus Christ.

The Lord also says to His people, Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. Fear is weakening and dishonors God, for it questions whether His arm which piled the heavens shall ever be palsied. If we have perfect love to Him, it casts out all slavish fear. Like Daniel, who looked into the face of his God and would not fear the face of the lion, you may look to Christ and find courage not in yourself, but in Him who is with you.

We pray for you now, that the Lord will root your confidence not in natural boldness, but in faith in His promised strength. May He deliver you from the fear of man which brings a snare, and fill you with holy reverence and quiet trust. May you know that whether He delivers you from the trial or sustains you through it, you are safe in His hands, and may you therefore speak and live with undaunted courage for Jesus sake.

May the Lord grant you this confidence by His Spirit, and keep you looking unto Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
