We join with you in asking the Lord for a spirit of confidence and boldness, and we bring this request before the Father together in Jesus name. We understand the desire to walk without fear or timidity, to stand firm and speak and live with assurance, and God delights to give His children that kind of strength when our confidence is rooted in Him and not in ourselves.
Scripture reminds us where true confidence comes from. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1. We are told Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9. And we have this promise that in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. Ephesians 3:12. That boldness is not self confidence but Christ confidence, knowing that we can draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16. Therefore we are encouraged Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward. Hebrews 10:35.
We also want to gently encourage you about the name through which we pray. We noticed your request did not mention Jesus, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and confidence before Him. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. True boldness comes when we have put our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and that through His name we are made children of God. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, for then your confidence rests on His finished work and not on your own strength. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.

Your prayer for a spirit of confidence and boldness is one that the Lord delights to answer, for He would have His children treat Him with confidence and not with slavish fear.
Hear what the Scripture says, Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace. We are not left to come with hesitation or doubt. We come to a King, and therefore we may bring large petitions and expect great things. Boldly here means hopefully, with full confidence of being heard. It is not a matter of doubt whether God hears and answers prayer. And we have good reason for this boldness. First, we are invited to pray. The King Himself has bidden us come. Second, we are His children by faith in Christ Jesus, and if we have perfect love to Him, that love casts out fear. Third, the Holy Spirit Himself has been given to teach us how to pray and to help our infirmities at the mercy seat.
You ask for confidence, and you must labor to be rid of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonors God. Shall we distrust the Omnipotent, as if the arm which piled the heavens should ever be palsied. The Lord says to you as He said to His people of old, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help you, says the Lord. That word is absolute and without qualification. He does not say fear a little, but Fear not.
Remember Daniel. He had looked into the face of his God and therefore he would not fear the face of a lion, nor the faces of princes and soldiers. He that trembled not before tens of thousands shall he fear now when only trial is in his way. Not so, when a man has seen the Lord. It is blessed to have such a confidence as this, to say God can deliver me, but if He does not deliver me as I would choose, still I am content to be His and to suffer for Jesus sake.
May the Lord grant you this holy boldness. Not a boldness of the flesh or of a proud heart, but the quiet, undaunted courage that comes from knowing you are redeemed and that your Father reigns. May He fill you with perfect love which casts out tormenting fear, and make you strong to stand and strong to speak for Him. May you come daily and boldly to the throne of grace, asking largely, trusting fully, and finding mercy and grace to help in every time of need.

Your prayer for confidence and boldness is a good and God honoring desire, and God delights to give it to His children.
True confidence is not from ourselves, but in the Lord. The apostles who once were afraid became bold because they knew whom they had believed and what they had seen and heard, and they could not keep silent. That is the difference between godly courage and mere audacity. One speaks truth with love and reverence for God, the other speaks from pride or an unbridled tongue. Godly boldness is steady, humble, and faithful whether in life or in difficulty, and it is not ashamed of the gospel.
Scripture teaches that when we are willing, God provides the opportunity and the strength. He draws near to calm our fear and shame and to make us familiar with Him, so that we may speak His word without fear. When we know His power and His voice that says this is my beloved Son, we can take courage and not be afraid.
I pray for you now that the Lord will fill you with that kind of confidence.

Your desire for confidence and boldness is something God wants to answer, and Scripture shows where that kind of strength truly comes from.
True confidence does not come from trying to build yourself up. The Bible says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, and even the sum of it. That fear is not a phobia, as if God is waiting to harm you. It is a reverent awe of who He is, His greatness and power and holiness. To fear Him is to love what He loves and to hate what He hates, to want to walk away from evil because you love Him and do not want to grieve Him. When that reverence is at the center, wisdom and steadiness follow.
The Lord Himself is meant to be your confidence. Scripture says not to be afraid of sudden terror or of the trouble that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. The name of the Lord is like a strong tower, and those who are righteous run into it and are safe. When you remember that He is with you, fear loses its hold. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. The cure for fear is the consciousness of His presence. God has said to be strong and of good courage and not to be afraid, for He is with you wherever you go.
Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Fear is an enemy of faith, and it often pushes us to make wrong decisions. Faith grows as you remember the Lord, His promises and His love for you. The Bible says there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear brings torment. When you become more assured that God loves you in Christ, that He has cleansed you and holds you as His child, confidence grows. You can have boldness not only for the day of judgment, because as Christ is so are you in this world through Him, but for each day now, knowing your life is in His hands and He will work all things for good.
That boldness is given through Jesus. In Him we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and through His blood you can come with boldness into the presence of God. Like David, you can bring your need honestly and then choose to put it in God's hands and trust Him to care for it. As you do, He will give you that settled trust that says I will not fear what man can do, because my confidence is in the Lord.
I pray that God will fill you with that kind of confidence, that you will walk in reverence for Him, stay mindful of His presence with you, rest more deeply in His perfect love, and come boldly to Him through Jesus.
