Beloved of All
Your prayer for boldness and confidence at work is one God loves to answer, and Scripture shows where that kind of confidence truly comes from.
It does not come from trying harder to feel sure of yourself. In Christ you have boldness and access to God with confidence through faith in Him. You have been accepted in the Beloved, and through Jesus you can come directly to God. There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. Because He is your great high priest who has passed into heaven and because you can enter the presence of God by the blood of Jesus, you are invited to come boldly to the throne of grace. You do not need to hang back thinking you are not worthy to approach Him or that you need someone else to go for you. Through Jesus the way is open for you personally.
That access changes how you pray about work. You can bring every pressure, task, relationship and fear to Him, and then trust Him to take care of it. The Lord is your helper and the One who upholds you. Prayer often begins with asking, then moves to confidence that God has heard and will act, and then to praise even before you see the answer. You may still face difficult people or demanding assignments, but you can have settled confidence that your life is in His hands and He will do what is right and good.
Boldness at work also means courage to do what is right and to speak truth with love, even when it feels intimidating. The early believers faced threats and imprisonment for speaking about Jesus, and their prayer was not that the opposition would disappear but that God would give them boldness to speak His word faithfully. God answered and they spoke with boldness. The apostle Paul, even while in prison for the gospel, asked for prayer that he would speak boldly as he ought to speak and not be silenced by fear. In the same way, you can ask God to make you bold to work with integrity, to show kindness and love as Christ did, and to speak honestly and graciously when needed.
The cure for fear and anxiety is knowing God is with you. The command given to Joshua is for you as well, be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. When you measure a task by your own ability you will feel unable, but when you remember His presence with you at work, you can take courage. His perfect love casts out fear. When you know how deeply God loves you and that His love has been made complete in you through Christ, you can have boldness not only for the day of judgment, because as He is so are you in this world, but for each ordinary day and its uncertainties. You do not need to fear what others think or what might happen, because you are secure in Him.
He is also the author and finisher of your faith. What He has begun in you He will complete. The Lord will perfect that which concerns you. That includes your growth in confidence and courage. As you keep coming to Him, trusting His love and His wisdom above your own, He will build that steady assurance in you.
I pray that God will give you this kind of confidence at work in the days ahead, that you will know His presence with you in every task and conversation, that you will have boldness to do good and to speak truth in love, and that your heart will rest in His care and praise Him even before you see how He will work things out. May He magnify Christ in your life at work, whether through open doors or through difficulties, and may you know His peace and strength each day.
