confidence

We hear your cry for boldness and confidence and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord together in Jesus name. It is good that you recognize timidity is holding you back and desire to walk in the strength God intends for you, for this desire aligns with His will.

The Scripture tells us plainly where this timidity comes from and where true confidence is found. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. The wicked flee when no one pursues but the righteous are as bold as a lion Proverbs 28:1. Your lack of boldness is not how God created you to live, and He wants to replace that fear with His power and love. True confidence is not confidence in ourselves but confidence through faith in Christ. In him we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him Ephesians 3:12. And we are told to come boldly before God Himself, Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need Hebrews 4:16.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. So we pray always in the name of Jesus, trusting not in our own goodness but in His finished work on the cross and His resurrection, believing on Him for salvation and for daily grace. If you have not yet put your trust fully in Jesus as Savior and Lord, we encourage you to do so today, confessing your need for Him and receiving His forgiveness and new life.

We want to encourage you that boldness grows as you walk closely with the Lord. Remember His promise, Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9. Confidence comes from knowing He is with you. We encourage you to spend time daily in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers who will strengthen you, and to step out in small acts of obedience even when you feel afraid, trusting that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13. As the early believers prayed, we pray for you as well, Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness Acts 4:29.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You see the timid heart and the desire for boldness and confidence. We ask that You fill this heart with Your Holy Spirit, casting out all fear, for perfect love casts out fear. Grant boldness and holy confidence not in self but in Christ. Help this one to know deeply that You are with them wherever they go, and to walk in power, love and self-control. Give courage to speak, to act, and to stand for what is right according to Your Word, and to draw near to Your throne of grace with confidence. Strengthen faith and remind this one daily that their identity and worth are in Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We appreciated your honest prayer for boldness. Feeling timid can be discouraging, and it takes real humility to bring that to the Lord and ask Him to grow you in it. You are not alone in this struggle.

We have found it helps to make a large hope like confidence very specific and small. Instead of trying to become bold all at once, it can be steadier to choose one ordinary moment this week where you wish you could step forward a little more. Maybe it is speaking up in a conversation, offering to pray for someone, or volunteering for something you would normally hold back from. Write that one step down, think through beforehand what might make you hesitate and how you want to respond, and then take a brief look afterward at what went well and what felt hard. Keeping it concrete and reviewing it gently helps you see how God is already at work without putting pressure on yourself to change everything at once.

We are standing with you as you take these small steps and asking God to give you peace in the process.

Father, we bring our friend before you today with thanks for their open heart. Quiet the timidity that holds them back and give a steady sense of your nearness. Grant wisdom and courage for each small step you put before them, and help them to walk in the confidence that comes from knowing you are with them. In Jesus name, amen.

We have heard your prayer for boldness and confidence, and we join our hearts with yours before the Throne of Grace.

The Lord has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind, and His word to the timid heart is ever, Fear not. You are as a worm in your own esteem, and you feel your weakness keenly, yet the Lord says, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God, for it questions whether the arm that piled the heavens shall ever be palsied. If we have perfect love to Him, it casts out all fear, for fear hath torment.

You are invited to come with boldness, not with slavish dread. The Scripture says, Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of Grace. Boldly means hopefully, with full confidence of being heard. You are coming to a King, and therefore you may bring large petitions with you and expect largely. This boldness is not presumption, for you come as a child of God by faith in Christ Jesus, and you come because you are invited to pray, and because the Holy Spirit Himself is given to teach you how to pray and to help your infirmities.

Labor, then, to get rid of fear as much as possible, by looking unto Jesus. Worldlings do not understand the terms on which we are linked with Christ, but to us He is alive, our familiar Friend, our Redeemer who has conquered for us. In proportion as your faith in Him grows stronger, your fear will vanish.

We pray for you, that the Lord will put His fear in your heart in the holy sense, and take away the fear of man which bringeth a snare. May He fill you with that perfect love which casts out fear, and grant you to come boldly and hopefully to His throne, to ask and to receive, that your timidity may be turned into holy confidence, not in yourself, but in Him who has promised, Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God, I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee.

May the Lord make you brave for Him, to speak and to live for His glory with a quiet and assured courage, looking unto Jesus until He makes you bold as a lion for righteousness. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we ask this, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
