Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and your long season of waiting and suffering is not overlooked by the Lord. To live for months with unsafe conditions in your home, to become ill because of them, to carry painful and visible damage to your skin, to face threats and unkind actions, and then to be left without communication, without apology, and without the return of what you paid and what you are owed, is a heavy burden. It is understandable that you feel worn down and disheartened after praying for so long.
We join you in asking God to work in the conscience of your landlord and the manager, that the Holy Spirit would stir them toward honesty, repentance, and doing what is right. God sees what is owed, including the security deposit and the costs you carried to make the electrical system safe when that responsibility was not yours as a tenant. We pray that He would move them to repay fully and to act justly going forward, and we pray that He would protect you from further harm or intimidation while giving you wisdom for any lawful steps you may need to take to seek what is due.
We also bring your body before the Lord for healing. Scripture shows us that Jesus bore our infirmities and our sicknesses, as Isaiah foretold and Matthew explains was fulfilled when Jesus healed many who were brought to Him. When we remember the bread of communion as His body broken for us, we are reminded that His suffering touches both our spiritual need for forgiveness and our physical need for restoration. We believe God still heals today and that He cares deeply about your physical pain, including the damage to your skin and the long road of recovery you face.
At the same time we want to pray with honest faith. The Bible also shows that healing is not granted in every case in the way and timing we ask. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed and the Lord answered differently, for His own purposes. The New Testament teaches that gifts of healings are given by the Spirit as He wills, not possessed equally by all, and that we do not fully understand why some are healed quickly and others are not. There are gradual healings, and there are healings through the natural processes God Himself designed in the body, which are no less from Him because they take time. We can trust His power and His love while leaving the outcome in His wise hands.
You may have heard the words of John to Gaius that he would prosper and be in health even as his soul prospers. That is a loving wish and prayer from John, not a promise that God guarantees perfect health to everyone. Yet it does remind us of a true connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. Proverbs says a joyful heart is good like medicine, and we are learning how much inner peace, hope, and trust affect physical well being. As you wait, continue to feed your spiritual life through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with Christ, even as you care for your body with cleanliness, good care, and medical help.
Let us pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this need to You. You know the unsafe conditions, the illness, the skin that has been injured and discolored, and the fear that healing may take years. Lay Your hand upon this body and bring restoration according to Your mercy and will, whether quickly or step by step through the healing processes You have placed within us. Rebuild what has been damaged and ease the distress and pain. We ask for honesty and justice, that those who hold what is owed would be moved to return the deposit and the repair costs in full and to act with fairness and kindness. Guard this dear one from further threats and wrongdoing, grant peace of heart while waiting, and let Your will be done. We ask this trusting Your goodness and power, in Jesus name, amen.
