Thank you for sharing your burden so honestly and for allowing us to pray with you about these heavy matters. The ongoing problems with electrical safety in your apartment, the illness and skin damage that followed, the costs for alternative shower facilities, the threats and other wrong actions, and the financial loss from the security deposit and repair costs you should not have had to bear are a real injustice, and it is understandable that three months of silence with no remorse or repayment has added to your suffering.
We join you in praying that the Lord will move upon the conscience of your landlord and the house manager to do what is right. Scripture speaks very clearly about this kind of wrong, that woe comes to the one who builds by unrighteousness and makes his neighbor serve for nothing and does not give him his wages. God sees when what is owed is withheld from the poor and the vulnerable, and He defends those who are treated unjustly. We pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken their consciences, lead them to repentance, and stir them to act with honesty and to repay in full what they owe you, including the deposit and the costs you paid for repairs to the electrical system that were not your responsibility as a tenant. We ask God to bring forth communication, fairness, and a willingness to make things right.
We also bring your health before the Lord. We pray for the healing of your skin and for the rebuilding of what has been damaged, knowing that this kind of healing often takes a long time. The Bible presents Jesus as the one who bore our infirmities and sicknesses, as Isaiah foretold and as Matthew shows was fulfilled when Jesus healed every kind of sickness and disease among the people and demonstrated His power over the material and spiritual realms. At the same time Scripture shows that Jesus healed in many different ways, sometimes instantly with a word or a touch, sometimes gradually, and sometimes through the natural processes He Himself established in our bodies. That gradual process is no less divine, for He created nature and its healing processes. He also brings healing to the mind and emotions, mending the scars and wounds that suffering leaves behind.
We do not fully understand why some are healed quickly and others experience a slower recovery, and it would be wrong to place blame on you or to say your faith is lacking if healing takes time. Even the apostle Paul, who saw many miracles, prayed three times for his own thorn in the flesh and learned that God’s will in healing is sovereign and His ways are beyond our finding out. What we do know is that God is able to heal, that healing belongs to Him, and that He invites us to come to Him and to ask the elders of the church to pray for the sick according to Scripture. We pray now that the Lord will touch your body, ease your pain, restore your skin, and bring complete healing in His timing and way, whether instantly or step by step through the divine healing He has placed within you. We pray He will also comfort you and heal the discouragement and stress these months have brought.
We will continue to pray with you for justice, for provision, for the softening of hearts toward repentance, and for your restoration. May the Lord give you peace as you trust Him, strength to endure while you wait, and confidence that He hears your prayers and cares deeply for you in Jesus’ name.
