We come before the throne of grace with hearts burdened for the spiritual vitality of church leaders, the salvation of the lost within our congregations, and the genuine worship and teaching that should flow from the Holy Spirit’s anointing. Your request resonates deeply with our shared longing to see God’s people thrive in truth, humility, and devotion. Let us lift these concerns before the Lord together, aligning our hearts with His Word and His will.

First, we must acknowledge the critical role of church leaders, pastors, preachers, and teachers, who are called to shepherd God’s flock with integrity, humility, and unwavering devotion to Christ. Scripture warns us, "Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness" (James 3:1 WEB). This is a sobering reminder that those who stand before God’s people must first stand before God in prayer, study, and repentance. The apostle Paul exhorts Timothy, "Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth" (2 Timothy 2:15 WEB). Leaders must be men and women of the Word, not merely in public ministry but in private devotion. Their lives must reflect the truth they proclaim, for "the Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him" (2 Timothy 2:24-25 WEB).

We pray fervently for our leaders, that they would be men and women of prayer, interceding not only for their congregations but also for their own souls. May they seek the Lord with the same passion they encourage others to pursue Him. "But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly" (Matthew 6:6 WEB). Let their devotional lives be marked by hunger for God’s presence, not merely preparation for sermons. May they be filled with the Holy Spirit, who "will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you" (John 14:26 WEB). Without this daily communion with God, their teaching will lack power, and their leadership will falter.

We also lift up the salvation of the lost within our churches. It is a grievous reality that many attend services week after week without ever encountering the life-transforming power of the Gospel. Jesus declared, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44 WEB). This is the work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8 WEB). Yet we must not grow passive or complacent. The apostle Paul reminds us, "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14 WEB). The preaching of the Word must be clear, bold, and unapologetic, pointing sinners to the cross where "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13 WEB).

We rebuke the spirit of apathy and lukewarmness that has crept into many congregations, where the Gospel is diluted, and the call to repentance is softened. Jesus warned the church in Laodicea, "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth" (Revelation 3:15-16 WEB). May our churches be places where the truth is proclaimed in love, where the lost hear the message of salvation, and where the Holy Spirit moves in power to draw hearts to Christ. We pray that families would be drawn to church not merely by tradition or habit, but by the Father’s divine calling, as Hebrews 10:25 exhorts, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching" (WEB).

We must also address the critical need for genuine worship that is "in spirit and truth" (John 4:24 WEB). Worship is not about emotionalism or entertainment; it is about encountering the living God. The Holy Spirit anoints our worship when it flows from hearts surrendered to Christ. "But the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him" (1 John 2:27 WEB). Let us reject the shallow, man-centered worship that seeks to please the flesh rather than the Spirit. May our gatherings be marked by reverence, awe, and a deep hunger for God’s presence.

We also lift up the families within our congregations, praying that they would be drawn to Christ through the faithful witness of the church. The salvation of households is a promise we cling to, as seen in Acts 16:31, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household" (WEB). Yet this promise is not a guarantee apart from faith and repentance. Each individual must respond to the Gospel call. We pray that fathers, mothers, and children would hear the Word with open hearts, that the Holy Spirit would reveal Christ to them, and that they would be saved. "Therefore put away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, and receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls" (James 1:21 WEB).

Father, we come before You with urgency, knowing that "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few" (Matthew 9:37 WEB). Raise up faithful laborers in Your harvest field, men and women who will preach the Gospel with boldness, who will intercede for the lost with passion, and who will live lives that reflect the transforming power of Christ. We pray for the salvation of every soul in our churches who does not yet know You. Convict them of their sin, draw them to repentance, and grant them the gift of faith to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB).

We rebuke every spirit of deception that blinds the eyes of the lost, every lie that keeps them from embracing the truth. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We stand against the forces of darkness that would keep families bound in sin, and we declare that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). May the Holy Spirit move mightily in our midst, breaking chains, healing hearts, and drawing the lost to the foot of the cross.

Lord, we also pray for the spiritual hunger of Your people. May we not be satisfied with mere religious activity but crave the pure milk of Your Word, as newborn babies long for nourishment (1 Peter 2:2 WEB). Open our eyes to see the wonders in Your law (Psalm 119:18 WEB), and grant us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ (Ephesians 1:17 WEB). Let us not be hearers of the Word only, but doers, for "faith without works is dead" (James 2:26 WEB). May our lives reflect the truth we profess, and may our churches be beacons of light in a dark world.

We pray for the protection of our families and congregations from the schemes of the evil one. Jesus prayed, "I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one" (John 17:15 WEB). Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). May they be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth of Christ’s love (Ephesians 3:17-19 WEB).

Finally, we declare that every promise of God is "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20 WEB). We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6 WEB). May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Amen.

What a privilege to share in your prayers for these family members and for the church. Your love for them is unmistakable, and we know that burden is one the Holy Spirit places on our hearts, not to carry alone, but to bring again and again to the One who loves them perfectly.

Sometimes the very act of naming people specifically in our prayers, perhaps writing their names down and lifting up one specific need for each of them each day, helps us stay steady rather than overwhelmed. You might pray Monday for a hunger for the Word, Tuesday for the Spirit to give them a revelation of Jesus, Wednesday for a trusted friend or tract to cross their path. And alongside that, a simple, no-pressure invitation to a service can be a gentle nudge. Worship has a way of disarming isolation and drawing people out of themselves; we’ve seen again and again how the gathered church becomes a place where God meets people in a way they cannot manufacture alone.

We join you in asking the Father to send His Spirit ahead of every gathering, to give the leaders fresh devotion, to ready the lost to hear, and to open hearts that have been closed. Even the smallest step into a church can become holy ground when the Spirit is at work.

Father, thank You that You desire none to perish and that You draw people to Yourself. We lift up these dear family members now, protect them from the lies that would keep them away, and send people and moments that stir a genuine thirst for You. We ask for the Holy Spirit to move in power during every service, bringing conviction and a clear understanding of the gospel. Give courage to those who will invite and welcome them, and sustain this praying heart with hope and patience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Spirit of God designs to stain the pride of all glorying and to bring into contempt all the excellency of the earth, and this doctrine is the appropriate instrument for His work. Another office of the Holy Spirit is to exalt Christ. Here, then, simple faith and the Holy Spirit are related, for the new heart which the Spirit creates is the only soil in which faith will grow. We, through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. It is not because of any other influence but the influence of the Spirit that we come to rest, and continue to rest and wait while we rest, for the hope of the righteousness by faith.

Beware of a repentance that is but of the flesh. Judgment may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature of men. And flesh repenting is still flesh and tends to corruption. It is but a transient repentance. They repent but for a season. Bow yourself before it, as the wheat ripened for the sickle bows before the wind. Give glory to God by yielding to the movements of His Spirit. Cry out, "Lord, I believe. Help Thou mine unbelief. I would quit my sin. Help me to quit it now for Jesus' sake and to give Thee glory."

The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant, and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart; the repentance which purges the soul from dead works, and the faith that fills the soul with living works; the repentance which pulls down, and the faith which builds up, Christ was nailed to the cross for it, that is the repentance which bringeth us salvation. When I avoid sin and seek to lead a holy life because Christ loved me and gave Himself up for me, and because I am not my own, but am bought with a price, this is the work of the Spirit.

The Holy Spirit when He comes in the heart comes like water, to purify the soul. If thou canst not say thou hast the Spirit, go thy way and tremble; go thy way and think of thy lost condition; and may Jesus by His Spirit so bless thee, that thou mayest be led to renounce thy works and ways with grief, and fly to Him who died upon the cross, and find a shelter there from the wrath.

Let Daniel's prayer inspire us with the spirit of prayer, and his example, in forgetting himself and remembering his people, help us to be unselfish and lead us to care for God's people. There is but one Church, the sanctuary of God, and for that Church we ought to pray. For God's sake, for Christ's sake, for the Holy Spirit's sake, a lifeless Church is a dishonor to God, and the better a Church has been, the more of a nuisance does it become when the Presence of God is gone from it. It is a dire calamity for a Church when the Lord refuses any longer to bless her work, or reveal Himself in her ordinances.

The Holy Spirit is the choicest of all the gifts of God which are received into the soul, it is by the Spirit the work of the Lord Jesus is known and received. The hearing of faith, this is the way by which the Spirit of God comes to men. It is personal hearing, listening to the Word of God for yourself. The fact that the Holy Spirit is given to the hearing of faith and not as a reward of works runs like a silver thread through the whole of the Acts of the Apostles.

You must be quickened by the Holy Spirit, for you are dead in trespasses and sins. Until He enters them they are dead. The sweetest and best repentance is that which comes, not by driving, but by drawing, the goodness of God leads you to repentance. The legitimate argument of undeserved goodness given to the worst of men is that it should lead them speedily to repentance and to eternal life.

Praying in the Holy Spirit is the only true praying. O may we never cease from it. On your knees, then, you that have wandered and deserve to be forsaken and deserted of the Holy Spirit. May the blessing of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit rest upon the one church of Israel's one Jehovah. Amen and Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your zeal for prayer is a sweet aroma, but consider the simplicity of the salvation you seek. It needs no long circuit of words. The Lord has spoken a short word upon the earth: if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. This is the Bridegroom’s voice, by which the Church is wedded to God, and it is my joy to hear that voice echoed in your desires.

Yet I must stir you up: do not let your many prayers become a substitute for a careful hearing. What profit is it to be fervent in intercession but negligent in the very hearing of the word? Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The seed must fall on good soil, with fortitude and a heart free from worldly cares. You pray for your family to attend and receive the word, but examine yourself. Do you stand and listen with humility, or is your ear dull? The Holy Spirit teaches all things, but He works through the word preached. If we neglect so great a salvation, how shall we escape?

The Church is not of any man, but of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. In that house you ask the Father to draw your loved ones. He wills that none perish. Pray, then, not as one who only sighs for others, but as one who first trembles at the word and lives it. Your intercession for your household is right, but remember: salvation is from the Lord. It is not by might, nor by the persuasiveness of the preacher, but by the Spirit convicting and the Father revealing the Son. So pray with faith that you have already received, and with a life that matches your tongue.

Do not let carelessness creep in. It is a grievous enhancement of sin to pray against enemies or to remain lazy in hearing while asking for great things. Rise up, then, and let your tears and prayers be joined to a sober, watchful hearing of Scripture. Then you will see the Bridegroom’s voice bring joy, not only to you but to those you love. Trust in the short word that carries righteousness, and the God who called you will call them also.

Your prayer reveals a heart that aches for your family to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and that same longing rings out for the health of the church’s leaders and worship. You are pleading for God to draw them, to open ears and minds, and to grant genuine faith. Those are desires born of His own Spirit, because He desires that none should perish but that all would come to repentance. So you are praying in harmony with His will.

Central to everything you have lifted up is the nature of the gospel itself. It is the good news that we are justified, made right with God, purely by faith in Jesus Christ, apart from any works of the law or human effort. When this gospel was under attack in the early church, the apostles stood firm. They refused to add anything to grace. They knew that if salvation required even the smallest human contribution, it would no longer be a gift; it would be bad news. We are saved by grace through faith, and that faith comes by hearing the word of Christ. There is no other way. Not by rituals, not by sporadic attendance, not by trying to earn favor. Only through the finished work of the cross, where the Anointed One was crucified for our sins.

So when you cry out for your family to attend church and hear the Word preached, you are asking for the very thing that kindles faith. And when the Word is faithfully proclaimed, the simple, unadorned message of Christ crucified and risen, the Spirit of God uses it to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Flesh and blood cannot reveal the Messiah, but your Father in heaven can. He is the one who opens minds to understand the Scriptures and draws people to the Savior. Lean on that. Your confidence is not in a particular day or service, but in the powerful, living Word that speaks even now.

Because this gospel is so freeing, it will always face a competing pressure to add something to it, whether a list of rules, a feeling of superior devotion, or a more user-friendly version that dilutes the truth to attract crowds. Resist that. The strength of the early church was not in creative methods or numerical contests, but in delivering the unchanging message of salvation by faith alone. And as they were established in that truth, God added to their number daily. What pleased the Lord then still pleases Him today: that we simply and boldly hold out the Word of life, trusting His Spirit to bring genuine conviction and lasting change.

Now, a living faith will always show itself in action. It is not passive. When someone truly believes, their life begins to bear the fruit of repentance, a hunger for God’s Word, a desire to gather with other believers, a love that serves. But those changes are never the root of salvation; they are its proof. So as you pray for your family, don’t confuse the evidence with the source. Urge them to hear the gospel. Trust the Spirit to use that hearing to ignite a faith that works from the inside out.

Above all, keep your own soul anchored in the grace that saves. The enemy loves to breed a famine of the Word, whispering that we need more knowledge or more effort. But Christ has already accomplished everything. Your role is to bring these burdens to the Father, rest in the all-sufficient work of His Son, and let the Spirit do what no human persuasion can. When the gospel of grace is lifted high, the Lord will draw people to Himself.
