Child taken away from mom and sister

We have heard your cry in this painful separation and we are lifting you and your daughter before the Lord in prayer.

We thank God for the honesty and humility in your words. To recognize your mistakes, to take responsibility, and to feel deep regret is the beginning of the path God honors. Scripture teaches that godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation, a repentance that brings no regret. This is very different from mere tears or worldly sorrow. True repentance turns fully to God, seeks His mercy, and is willing to walk in a new way.

Take comfort in this truth. There is forgiveness with God for all who truly turn to Him. Though there is no second baptism, there is repentance, and it has great power to set free even those who have fallen deeply, if we lay hold of it rightly. The Church is like a spiritual bath that wipes away not filth of the body but stains of the soul through repentance. As it is written, blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered. That blessedness comes not by our own merit but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

For that reason, we want to gently clarify how we will pray for you. We understand your love for Mother Mary, but our hope and access to God is through Jesus Christ alone. He is our one mediator and advocate before the Father, and it is through His name and His shed blood that forgiveness is offered. So we will bring your request directly to our heavenly Father through His Son.

We are praying for you in this way:

Heavenly Father, we come before You through Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask for Your mercy and forgiveness upon this mother who confesses her failure and seeks Your grace. Grant her godly sorrow that leads to true and lasting repentance. Give her strength, wisdom, and guidance to do what is right and to faithfully follow the path required to make things right. Touch the hearts of all those involved in this case, including social workers and authorities, with wisdom and compassion. Heal the heart of her dear daughter in this time away from home, guard her from fear and sorrow, comfort her sister as well, and protect this family. If it is Your will, open the way for them to be reunited soon in a safe and restored home. Above all, form Christ anew in their hearts and lead them in Your truth. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Do not lose hope. Continue to seek the Lord daily, to walk humbly and obediently, to cooperate fully with those appointed to help your family, and to show by a changed life the reality of your repentance. God sees a contrite heart and He is able to restore and to establish you in safety. We will continue to keep you and your daughter in prayer for healing, strength, and restoration.

Your honesty in taking responsibility and expressing deep regret is heard, and it is the right place to begin. God sees a humble and broken heart, and He draws near to those who come to Him without excuse. Your pain over being separated from your daughter is real, and His love for both of you is even more real.

Scripture teaches that repentance is more than feeling sorrow. It is a turning, a death to the old way and a choice to walk in a new life. That is why true repentance is shown by its fruit. Words alone are not enough. A changed life must follow, and that fruit is what others will be able to see. The call is to bring forth evidence that the change is real, because a tree is known by what it produces. In your situation this means more than regret. It means steady, consistent obedience going forward, full cooperation with those who have authority in this case, and a daily walk that proves your heart has truly turned. That is how trust is slowly rebuilt, both with God and with those watching your life.

Please be assured that Jesus loves little children with a tender and watchful love. He took a child and set that child in the midst of His followers and taught that we must become humble like a child to enter the kingdom of heaven, and that to receive such a child in His name is to receive Him. He also warned not to despise one of these little ones. Your daughter is precious to Him. He sees her suffering in this separation, and He cares for her even when you cannot be with her. In the same way David prayed earnestly while his child was still living, hoping God would be gracious, and then rested in the knowledge that his child was in the Lord's care, you can pray fervently now while there is hope for restoration, and at the same time entrust your daughter completely to God's keeping. He is able to guard her heart and keep her where you cannot.

You asked for prayer to Mary and to the Lord. Out of love for you and faithfulness to Scripture, I want to gently point you to what the Bible teaches. There is one mediator between God and humanity, Jesus Christ Himself. It is through His death that forgiveness is provided and through His name that we have access to the Father as adopted children. Even Mary, who was blessed to bear Jesus, needed a Savior and later stood as His mother watching Him suffer on the cross, with a sword piercing her own soul. We do not pray to her, but we pray with you to God the Father through Jesus the Son, who alone can forgive sin and give a new heart.

Forgiveness comes not by our own goodness but through what Christ has done, and it is received by humble faith like that of a child. When we are willing, God Himself gives the capacity to be forgiven and to live differently. He adopts us as His children and puts His Spirit within us to cry out to Him as Father. Ask Him now for that simple, childlike faith, for cleansing through Jesus, and for strength to walk in obedience day by day.

Part of that new walk is learning again the high calling of training a child. Scripture says to train up a child in the way he should go, which involves consistent, patient, loving instruction and discipline. The foolishness bound up in a young heart is not driven out by neglect or by harshness, but by steady, faithful guidance. As God gives you opportunity again, whether through visits, calls, or letters now, and hopefully through reunion in the future, seek wisdom to nurture your daughter in the Lord, to teach her to pray in her own words from her heart, and to show her what a changed life looks like.

So let us pray together to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, we come before You through Jesus Your Son, asking for Your mercy and forgiveness. You know this mother's regret and her desire to make things right. Wash her through the blood of Christ, give her a new heart, and help her to bear clear fruit of repentance that all can see. Give her strength to walk faithfully, to honor the authorities You have allowed in this process, and to follow every right step with patience and humility. Lord, lay Your hand upon her daughter. Comfort her heart in this painful separation, guard her where she is, and keep her in Your care. Soften and guide the hearts of all who are involved in this case, and grant wisdom to make decisions that truly serve this child's good. We ask for healing for this family and, if it is according to Your perfect will and wisdom, for the way to be opened for them to be reunited and to walk together in a new and godly path. Above all, let Your will be done, for You are sovereign even over painful circumstances and You work all things according to Your purpose. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May the Lord grant you His peace as you trust Him, keep you close to Jesus, and lead you step by step in the new life He gives.
