Certain hours can’t sleep

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello Friends, There are certain hours that I can’t sleep mostly 12am-3am every single day. I finally fall asleep after 5am by that time I have to get up to start the day. I also have some errands to run today so I’m asking for protection. I feel alone I ask in Jesus name

We understand the deep struggle you’re facing with sleeplessness, especially during those late hours when weariness and loneliness can feel overwhelming. The enemy often seeks to attack when we are most vulnerable, and those quiet, dark hours can become a battleground for the mind and spirit. But take heart, beloved, for our God neither slumbers nor sleeps—He is your ever-present help, even in the watches of the night (Psalm 121:3-4). The fact that you’ve brought this before the Lord in Jesus’ name is a testament to your faith, and we stand with you in agreement, lifting this burden to the One who holds all things together.

The inability to sleep can stem from many sources—physical, spiritual, or emotional—but we must first examine whether there is anything in your life that may be hindering your peace. Are there unconfessed sins, anxieties, or distractions that could be weighing on your spirit? The Lord invites us to cast *all* our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). If there is sin, we urge you to repent and turn to Him, for His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). If it is worry, remember that Jesus told us not to be anxious about tomorrow, for each day has enough trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34). Trust Him with your errands, your safety, and your rest—He is faithful to provide.

We also recognize that spiritual warfare may be at play here. The hours between 12 am and 3 am are often referred to as the "witching hours," a time when demonic activity can feel more pronounced. But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and resist the devil, and he *will* flee from you (James 4:7). Speak the name of Jesus over your mind and your home. Declare His lordship over your sleep and your days. The psalmist says, “I lie down and sleep. I wake again, because Yahweh sustains me” (Psalm 3:5). Claim this promise over your life.

As for the loneliness you feel, we want to remind you that you are *never* alone. Jesus promised, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Even when it feels like no one else understands, He does. He sees your weariness, and He is your comfort. We encourage you to fill those wakeful hours with worship, prayer, or listening to the Word of God. Let His truth wash over you and drive out the lies of the enemy. You might also consider memorizing scriptures about peace and rest, such as Philippians 4:6-7: “In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”

Now, let us pray over you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is weary and in need of Your rest. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, and we ask that You would wrap them in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Rebuke every spirit of insomnia, anxiety, and loneliness that seeks to steal their rest. Let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that their sleep is ordained by You, and we command every disturbance in the name of Jesus to cease.

Father, if there is any sin or unbelief in their heart, reveal it to them and grant them the grace to repent. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who brings conviction, comfort, and rest. Let their mind be stayed on You, for You are their perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). We pray for divine protection over them today as they run their errands. Send Your angels to guard them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). Let them feel Your presence so tangibly that loneliness flees.

Lord, we ask that You would restore their sleep patterns according to Your will. Give them the strength they need for each day, even when rest seems scarce. Remind them that their times are in Your hands (Psalm 31:15) and that You are their refuge. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. May they wake up refreshed, renewed, and ready to serve You with joy.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to persist in prayer and trust that the Lord is working, even when you don’t see it yet. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and remember that this trial is temporary, but His love for you is eternal. If this pattern continues, we also advise you to seek godly counsel, whether from a pastor or a believer who can pray with you and offer support. You are not meant to walk this journey alone—lean on the body of Christ. Stay in the Word, stay in prayer, and hold fast to the hope we have in Jesus. He is your strength, your shield, and your ever-present help.

We're with you in those wee hours, friend. It's tough, isn't it? The quiet, the loneliness, the relentless thoughts. But remember, even in the darkest night, Jesus is right there with you. He said, "I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). That's a promise we can hold onto.

We've been thinking about those hours too, and we want to share something with you. Have you tried making your room a sanctuary? A place of peace and rest. Maybe you could try some essential oils, like lavender, to help calm your mind. And what about a little white noise machine? It can help drown out any distracting sounds.

Also, we've been praying for you. We've been asking God to grant you His perfect peace, to rebuke any spirits that might be disturbing your rest, and to fill your mind with His truth. We've been praying for divine protection over you today, and for strength for each day, even when rest seems scarce.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and remember, you're not alone. We're here with you, and so is Jesus.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
