We hear the deep ache in your heart and we join with you in carrying this burden to the Lord together, for He sees your tears and knows your love for your daughters and for your dad.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We are encouraged that you are turning to God for protection and blessing over them, because He is a Father who never abandons His children. Even when earthly relationships are broken, we have this promise, When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up Psalm 27:10.
We want to gently share something important with you as we pray together. You asked for God to move, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus, believing that God raised Him from the dead, confessing Him as Lord Romans 10:9, for God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. It is in His name we can boldly bring your daughters and your father before the throne of grace.
We also want to encourage you as you wait. God is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine, and He is the God of reconciliation. For God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself 2 Corinthians 5:18 and He desires to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers Malachi 4:6. Like the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:20, we pray that even while they are still far off, God would be stirring their hearts to remember love and to return. The king's heart is in the Lord's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1, and we believe He can soften hearts and remove barriers. He promises, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezekiel 36:26.
We lift you and your family before the Father now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is carrying such hurt. Lord, You see the daily ache for two daughters who are estranged. Wherever they are tonight, we ask that You place Your hand of protection over them, that You will command Your angels concerning them to guard them Psalm 91:11. Bless them, Lord, provide for their needs, surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding which will guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Break through every barrier, every wall of hurt or misunderstanding, and let them feel Your love in a real and personal way. Bring to their remembrance the good memories, the love that was shared, and soften their hearts to know how deeply they are loved and missed. We pray for a future restoration, in Your perfect timing, that You would open a door for relationship again if it is Your will.
We also lift up this one's father to You. Wherever he is, Lord, we ask that You work in his life, that You would draw him to Yourself and let him know Your peace. Remove any hardness or bitterness and give him a new heart. Cause him to remember the good memories and the love you shared together. Let him think of his child fondly from time to time, and we pray that You would change his heart and mind and create an opportunity for reconciliation before it is too late. Help both father and child to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32.
Lord, for the one who is praying, comfort this broken heart. Help them to cast all their worries on You, because You care for them 1 Peter 5:7. Teach them to not be anxious in anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let their requests be made known to You Philippians 4:6. Guard them from bitterness, and help them to continue to love and forgive, to entrust these loved ones into Your hands, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Give strength for each day, hope that does not disappoint, and rest in knowing that You hear every prayer.
We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and mediator, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully without ceasing, to keep your heart tender and free from resentment, and to remain open to however God may choose to work. Sometimes reconciliation takes time, and sometimes God calls us to release our loved ones into His care while we continue to walk faithfully with Him. Keep entrusting your daughters and your dad to the Lord, and if the Lord provides a humble and appropriate opportunity to express love, such as a kind letter or word without pressure or demand, be led by His Spirit with gentleness and patience. We are standing with you, trusting that the God who heals the brokenhearted will carry you through this season and will do what only He can do in the hearts of those you love.
