Beloved of All
Your heart has carried this hurt for a long time and God sees every wound and every year of pain. It is right to bring this to Him and to ask Him for protection from further betrayal and for deep healing inside.
The Bible does not pretend that every mother reflects God's heart. Scripture shows us mothers who acted without morality and who even coached their own children into wrong, and it also shows parents who walked in ways that provoked the Lord. That honesty is there so you will know that when a mother wounds her child, God does not minimize it or excuse it. He sees it clearly and He understands the weight of that betrayal.
He also wants you to know that He is not like the one who has hurt you. Many carry a fear that God is waiting to hurt them when they fail, but that is not the fear the Bible teaches. The true fear of the Lord is not being afraid that He will harm you, but not wanting to grieve Him because you love Him and know His love for you. God is your safe place. He has not wronged you, corrupted you, or defrauded you. You can come to Him without fear that He will betray you as you have been betrayed.
Jesus showed His power to heal in many different ways, and the prophet Isaiah said of Him that He bore our griefs and carried our infirmities. That includes the sickness of the body and the deep infirmities of the heart. Healing is still His work today. In the gospels people often released their faith through a simple point of contact, like touching the hem of His garment, not because the cloth itself had power, but because their faith was activated to receive from Him. You can come to Jesus directly in the same way. You do not need another mediator to carry your request. You can come to Him yourself, and like the desperate mother who would not go away until her daughter was set free, you can keep coming to Him with faith until you receive His touch. Sometimes that healing is felt in a moment, sometimes it is a slow work over time, but He is able to heal the hurt that has built up over many years.
Scripture commands us to honor father and mother, and that honor at its root meant caring for and respecting them. Honoring does not mean you must keep yourself open to ongoing harm or betrayal. You can honor while also seeking wisdom, healthy boundaries, and protection. Jesus also taught that there is a family that is formed by doing the will of God, where those who follow Him become brother and sister and mother to one another. When your own family has wounded you, God can provide that kind of family around you through His people, and most of all He gives Himself as your faithful friend whose wounds are meant to heal and not to destroy. His Word may cut like a surgeon's knife, but it cuts to remove what harms you so that you can be made whole.
Praying for you now, that the Lord will be your protection and your healer. May He guard your heart from further betrayal and from the fear of being hurt again. May He surround you with His presence so that you are safe in Him. May He lift the weight of the years of pain and bring healing to the places that have been wounded so deeply, and may He fill those places with His peace. May He give you wisdom for every interaction with your mother, grace to honor what is right while walking in truth, and the comfort of knowing you are fully loved and held by your heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.
