By his stripes....

We rejoice in the truth of God’s Word, which declares, "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5 WEB). This is a powerful reminder of the finished work of Christ on the cross, His sacrifice not only brings spiritual healing but also physical, emotional, and relational restoration for those who trust in Him.

Yet we must also remember that healing, whether physical or otherwise, is not always immediate or in the way we expect. The Lord’s timing and purposes are perfect, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). We pray for those who are waiting on healing, that their faith would remain steadfast, knowing that God is working all things for their good (Romans 8:28).

If this request is for personal healing, we encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord. Have you fully surrendered this area of your life to Him? Are you walking in obedience to His Word? The Bible tells us, "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:14-15 WEB). Confession, repentance, and faith are key.

We also lift up those who may be struggling with doubt or discouragement. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly. Stand firm on the promises of God, even when circumstances seem bleak. "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the healing power of the cross, where Jesus bore our sins and our sicknesses. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon those who are suffering, whether in body, mind, or spirit. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in Your perfect will.

We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, doubt, and fear in Jesus’ name. We declare that by His stripes, healing is ours, and we receive it by faith. For those who are waiting, give them patience and peace, knowing that You are their healer and provider. If there is unconfessed sin, reveal it, Lord, so that repentance and restoration can come.

We also pray for those who may be struggling with the timing of Your healing. Remind them that You are never late, and Your plans for them are good. May they find comfort in Your presence and hope in Your promises.

Father, we ask that You would be glorified in every situation. Whether through healing or through sustaining grace, may Your name be praised. We commit these requests to You, trusting in Your mercy and love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

If this request is part of a deeper need, perhaps for salvation, repentance, or a closer walk with God, we encourage you to seek the Lord wholeheartedly. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). There is no greater healing than the forgiveness of sins and the restoration of a right relationship with God.

We join you in that same glad confidence: “By his stripes we WERE healed.” Thank you for letting us rejoice with you over what Jesus has done. It’s a simple, strong confession, and it carries the weight of His finished work, not our striving. We have found that when our own hearts cling to that truth, it settles something deep inside, a steady peace that doesn’t depend on how we feel in the moment. So your testimony genuinely lifts our faith too.

There is no need to embellish what God has already sealed. He is the healer, and we simply get to say a grateful yes to what He has given. We thank Him with you for the health, mending, and restoration you have received, and we trust Him to guard what He has begun.

Jesus, we praise You for every trace of healing our friend has tasted, seen, and declared. Thank You for bearing our sicknesses and for making real in their body and soul the life You secured at the cross. Where they have known pain, let peace continue to grow. Where they have walked through uncertainty, let confidence in Your care deepen. May the story they carry become a quiet stream of hope to others who still wait for their own breakthrough. We bless Your mighty name together. Amen.

The cry of your heart rings true, for it is written, "with his stripes we are healed." This is no mere wish but a divine declaration, a past tense certainty in the eternal covenant. Yet let us distinguish the healing that is already given in full and that which we await in hope. Sin is that chief malady, that cancer of the soul, and by His stripes the guilt and reigning power of it are cured for every believer. The pardon of iniquity is the grand healing, the fever of rebellion departs, the leprosy of lust is cleansed, the palsy of spiritual death is quickened into life. The Lord treats our sin as a disease to be cured rather than a crime to be punished for the moment, that He might deal with us in mercy. Therefore, if you have looked to Christ, your iniquity is forgiven; you are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. This is healing indeed, the soul made whole, the conscience purged, the heart renewed.

But perhaps your faith lays hold also upon the body, and you groan under some physical affliction, naming it now as healed by those same stripes. Remember, our Lord heals all our diseases in His own time and manner. Sometimes the healing of the body comes at once, to the praise of His glory. Other times He sees fit to let the sickness linger, that our little faith may be tested and strengthened, even as Peter walking on the waves was not permitted to sink, yet was chided, "O you of little faith." Or like the Canaanite woman, whose great faith was tried by silence and seeming rebuke before she received her daughter whole. Faith must always rest upon the righteous character of God, who is as good as He is great, as just as He is strong. He may delay, but He does not deny. He may permit the thorn in the flesh that His grace may be made perfect in weakness. The full and final healing of these mortal bodies comes at the resurrection, when we shall eat of the Tree of Life which is in the midst of the Paradise of God, and its leaves shall be for our complete and everlasting healing. Until then, it is our privilege to believe that by His stripes we were healed, to reckon it so in the court of faith, and to wait with patience for the full manifestation. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, sickness must ultimately depart, for His name is a strong tower into which the righteous run and are safe. Hold fast your confidence; let no legal quibbling rob you of the simplicity of faith. He who spared not His own Son will with Him freely give us all things.
