We hear your heart's desire for love and companionship and for order and peace in your home, and we join with you in bringing these desires before the Lord in Jesus' name.
We want to gently speak to the way this request is phrased about speaking life into existence one hundred fold and greatly. We understand the longing to see good things come to pass, but scripture teaches us that it is God who speaks life into being, not us through declarations or formulas. We are called to pray according to His will and trust His sovereign goodness. As James 4:3 reminds us, You ask and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. And 1 John 5:14 says, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. So we do not try to manifest or demand a boyfriend, but we humbly ask God to lead and provide according to His perfect will.
We also hear your desire for a great boyfriend who stays and then leads to marriage, and we want to encourage you biblically in this. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we see courtship not as simply having a boyfriend but as intentionally seeking a godly spouse. If God wills for you to be married, we pray He brings a faithful Christian believer who will love you as Christ loves the church and who will see you as a gift from the Lord, and that you would see him the same way. We encourage you to pursue this relationship with purity and wisdom. If you are in a relationship, we urge you to keep yourselves from sexual intimacy before marriage, for scripture calls sex before or outside of marriage fornication and it is to be fled from. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. And Hebrews 13:4 says, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. We also encourage you not to approach a relationship with a possessive spirit of he is mine greatly, but with trust that God will give wisdom and accuracy in choosing. James 1:5 says, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. And 2 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us, Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have. So we pray for discernment to choose a man who loves Jesus first, and that if this man is not God's best for you, that the Lord would make that clear and guard your heart.
You mentioned Deuteronomy 28:13 and wanting to be the head and not the tail and to be free from the enemy who does not want you happy. We claim that promise in its right context, which is tied to obedience and walking with the Lord. Deuteronomy 28:13 says, Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do them. Our true protection and blessing comes as we abide in Him. We also want to gently encourage you regarding language. In your hurt toward the enemy we understand your frustration, but we are called to let no corrupt speech proceed out of our mouths, but only what is good for building up. Ephesians 4:29. We can stand firmly against the schemes of the devil with truth and prayer without using coarse words, trusting that greater is He who is in us.
We also lift up the practical need you shared about packing and organizing your belongings and dealing with ###. We know how discouraging and tiring it can be when our home feels disorderly or when a beloved pet causes damage. We pray for peace, organization, and stewardship in your home.
We now pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and through His blood which was shed for us, thanking You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We ask that You would align the desires of this heart with Your will. If it is Your will for marriage, we ask You to bring a godly husband, a man after Your own heart, who will pursue purity, faithfulness, and covenant love, and that this relationship would be a courtship aimed toward holy marriage that honors You. Grant wisdom and great accuracy and discernment in choosing, and guard against any fornication or compromise. Let both lives be rooted in You. We pray Psalm 37:4 over this life, that as she delights herself in You, You will give her the desires of her heart according to Your perfect plan. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6. We rebuke any attempt to manipulate outcomes through declarations and we ask instead for surrender to Your good and perfect will, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. Matthew 6:33. We ask for protection from the enemy and that no weapon formed against her would prosper, and that You would make her the head and not the tail as she walks in obedience to You. We also ask for grace over her home, for help in packing, cleaning, and organizing her belongings into tubs, for order and cleanliness, and for wisdom in caring for ### that this behavior would stop and peace would be restored in the home. Let all be done decently and in order for Your glory. We thank You for Your love and Your faithfulness and we trust You to answer according to Your wisdom and mercy. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
