Good and Faithful Servant
I posted this recently: "My boyfriend may have prostate cancer and he has been experiencing symptoms while we await his biopsy. I did not hear from him all day today. He did not respond to any of my messages (we are long distance). I was so worried but then I saw that he had posted on social media seemingly today. I have been having problems with my phone so it's always possible that he tried to contact me and my phone didn't receive his messages (please pray for me about that problem with my phone). However, it is also possible that he is purposely not contacting me under the influence of spiritual warfare that has been targeting me through people for years in retaliation for me leaving the new age and coming back to Christ. He has behaved negatively toward me due to this warfare before. Please pray for me about all this and pray that if he is purposely ignoring me, that God would just end this relationship - I am going to end it if this is the case because his behavior toward me under the influence of this warfare hurts so much. I love him so much but there are a lot of problems in this relationship and I'm fairly certain it was never God's will for me to date him in the first place. So he finally got back to me and said he wasn't feeling well at all yesterday. I can understand that, however, he was well enough to post on social media. It would not have taken much for him to just check in and let me know what was happening. I was SO worried. I truly do not want to be in this relationship anymore at all but don't know when the appropriate time will be to break up with him. I don't even want to speak to him right now. Please pray about all this." Later, I also posted, "Well, I broke up with him. Please pray for his emotional well-being and that me breaking up with him would not make any physical issues he is having worse. He is also at work right now. I broke up with him while he was working. I know that was a terrible thing to do but that's when the conversation about breaking up started. I am so heartbroken. I don't believe I will ever get married. I once thought God was convicting me to wait for Him to bring my husband into my life. I no longer believe that is going to happen. I believe I will spend the rest of my life alone. I am trying to accept that fact. Please pray that I would. Pray that I would have wisdom in knowing whether I should try to work tomorrow given how I feel right now about all this. I do not want to go back to my boyfriend again as I tried once before to break up with him but couldn't take it and got back with him soon after. For many reasons including not wanting to drag him back and forth, I don't want to do that this time. Pray that I would not do so unless God supernaturally wants us together. Please also pray for me because I had been experiencing spiritual warfare for years that died down when I got with my boyfriend for some reason. I'm now worried it will amplify again now that I've broken up with him as that happened before." Well, I just looked and he unfollowed me on a social media website that we loved. This is exactly what I was afraid he would do. I'm so hurt. Please pray. Thank you.

We hear the deep pain and confusion in your heart, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every burden to the Lord. First, we want to affirm that your desire to honor God in your relationships is commendable, and we grieve with you over the brokenness of this situation. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are not alone, even in this loneliness you feel.

The relationship you describe was marked by spiritual warfare, distance, and unmet expectations, all of which can weigh heavily on the heart. Scripture warns us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" While we do not know your boyfriend’s heart toward Christ, the patterns of behavior you’ve described, including neglect, inconsistency, and the influence of spiritual warfare, are not the hallmarks of a godly marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and it should be entered into with wisdom, discernment, and mutual commitment to the Lord. Your decision to end a relationship that was not aligned with God’s best for you was an act of courage, even if it feels like a loss right now.

We must also address the pain of feeling unseen or ignored. Your boyfriend’s failure to communicate, even briefly, during a time of such anxiety reveals a lack of consideration that is not Christlike. Love is patient, love is kind, and it does not behave rudely (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). His actions, whether intentional or not, caused you distress, and that is not the way a man who loves a woman as Christ loves the Church should treat her. You deserve to be cherished, not left in the dark during moments of fear.

Your fear of being alone is understandable, but we want to gently remind you that God has not abandoned you. Psalm 27:10 says, "When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up." The Lord is your ever-present help (Psalm 46:1), and He has a plan for your life, one that includes hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). You mentioned once believing God was convicting you to wait for your husband. Do not let this disappointment cause you to doubt His faithfulness. The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you will never marry, but God’s promises are true. Proverbs 19:14 tells us, "House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh." If it is His will for you to marry, He will bring the right man into your life at the right time.

We also want to address the spiritual warfare you’ve experienced. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he will use any means to discourage you, including relationships that do not honor God. But you are not powerless. James 4:7 says, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in your identity in Christ. The warfare may intensify, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Surround yourself with godly community, immerse yourself in Scripture, and pray without ceasing. The Lord is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

As for your question about working tomorrow, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in this. If you are emotionally overwhelmed, it may be wise to take time to rest and process your grief. Jesus Himself withdrew to lonely places to pray (Luke 5:16), and there is no shame in needing time to heal. However, if work is a healthy distraction and you feel capable, ask the Lord to give you strength for the day. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

We must also address the reality of your pain over his actions after the breakup. His decision to unfollow you on social media is hurtful, but it may also be a sign of his own brokenness. Pray for him, as you have asked, that the Lord would draw him to Himself and heal his heart. But do not allow his actions to define your worth or your future. You are a daughter of the King, and your value is found in Him alone.

Lastly, we want to gently address the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Christ, trusting in His sacrifice for your sins and inviting Him to be the Lord of your life. Salvation is found in no one else, and it is the foundation of all true healing and hope.

We lift you up to the Lord now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is walking through deep pain and uncertainty. Lord, You see every tear she has shed, and You know the ache in her heart. We ask that You would comfort her with Your presence, reminding her that she is never alone. Father, we pray for healing from this broken relationship. Where there is hurt, bring Your peace. Where there is confusion, bring Your clarity. Where there is fear of loneliness, remind her of Your promise to never leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5).

Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart from the lies of the enemy. Protect her from spiritual warfare and fill her with Your truth. Help her to stand firm in her identity in Christ, knowing that she is deeply loved and cherished by You. Father, if it is Your will for her to marry, we pray that You would bring a godly man into her life, one who will love her as Christ loves the Church, lead her in righteousness, and honor You in all things. If it is not Your will, give her the grace to embrace singleness with joy, knowing that her life is complete in You.

We pray for her ex-boyfriend as well, Lord. Touch his heart and draw him to You. If he does not know You, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Heal his body, mind, and spirit, and let this season of brokenness lead him to repentance and faith. Father, we also ask that You would give our sister wisdom in the days ahead. Help her to know when to rest and when to press forward. Give her strength to resist the temptation to return to this relationship unless You clearly lead her to do so.

Lord, we declare that the enemy has no power over her life. We rebuke every scheme of the devil and command him to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in victory and peace. Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust You to work all things together for her good (Romans 8:28), and we ask these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

You are not forgotten, and you are not without hope. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He is working even now to bring beauty from these ashes. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will lead you into the future He has prepared for you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this incredibly difficult season. Your honesty and vulnerability in sharing your heart have not gone unnoticed, and we have continued to lift you, your former boyfriend, and every detail of this situation before the Lord.

We have prayed for clarity in your communication, peace in your heart as you navigate this breakup, and wisdom to discern God’s will for your future. We have asked the Lord to heal the hurt in both of your hearts, to protect you from the spiritual warfare you’ve described, and to surround you with His presence in a tangible way. We’ve also prayed that if this relationship was not part of His plan for you, He would make that abundantly clear and give you the strength to walk away without looking back.

Now, as you process the pain of him unfollowing you on social media—a small but symbolic act that speaks volumes—we want to encourage you to hold fast to the truth that God sees your tears and collects every one of them. We are still standing in agreement with you, asking the Lord to mend what is broken, to shield you from further hurt, and to remind you of His unfailing love for you. If this season of singleness is indeed His plan for you, we pray He would fill the void with His peace and purpose, and that you would come to embrace it not as loneliness, but as an opportunity to draw nearer to Him.

If you’ve seen any answers to these prayers—whether in the form of unexpected peace, a fresh perspective, or even a confirmation of God’s will—we would love to hear about it so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the weight of this situation still feels heavy and unresolved, please don’t hesitate to post again. We are here to continue praying alongside you, every step of the way.

May the Lord bless you with His comfort, guide you with His wisdom, and fill you with the hope that comes only through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.
